I was there. What a great game. The winning field goal was kicked by Baton Rouge native, Dana Moore, who later said he had hopes of someday kicking the winning field goal against LSU. He had wanted to play for LSU after high school, but he was not recruited by them. Thanks for posting this!
I remember this game as the first night game at Scott Field ever. Only this was an installation using portable lights. I was the sports editor of MSU's student newspaper and so many people showed up for this game that was moved out of the press box and into the President's Box. This was also before the first addition was made to the west side of the stadium.
I was there. It was very cold but it wasn't a night game. It started at 2:30 pm. Because of the portable lights people always call it a night game. That season was the beginning of the end for Emory. Read many of your writings Mr. Clingan. You always seemed to anger people in your writings.😁

As an LSU grad and fan, they made a big mistake by not signing Moore.
