There really is something special about manga/anime art and design from the 90s. It exudes romanticism and so much of it is so dynamic. I love how Toriyama’s designs (as well as others I could mention) aren’t just forced with a “it works so just accept it” attitude. You can look at the mechanical designs and understand how it functions. The figure reeks of fun. Who wouldn’t want an hour with one of those?
You put it so well into words! His machines are just so fascinating because they are so intricately designed that they could truly function :) So much fun to admire!
