Declaration of Victory was actually even more useless, the person who declared it got a point bonus and the chance to use their fatality, but they had to win 3 rounds and not lose a single one. It was all points.
"Declaration of Victory" sounds a lot like the Seppuku mechanic from Samurai Shodown. In games like SSIV, a universal mechanic for things like Taunts and Seppuku would let you do things like throw away your weapon or just straight up kill yourself for a round. The benefit of Seppuku was that you'd have full RAGE meter at the beginning of the next round, and if you're at all remotely familiar with damage in SamSho games, that's an extremely powerful state to be in. You're putting it all into a single victory. I wish more people knew about how awesome those games are. The new game is really, really good, but there are a _lot_ of legacy mechanics that don't exist in it at all that would add some serious style to it, especially in a tournament setting.
For me the most anticipated canceled game is Garou 2. It was 70% completed when SNK felt in bankruptcy... So sad... Also, similar to KI2 on SNES, there was many rumors that AM2 worked hard on a Saturn port of Virtua Fighter 3 who used the 4MB Ram expansion for textures and it was the reason why VF3tb on the Dreamcast wasn't developed internally by Sega. Other rumors I remember are Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on Jaguar and FX Fighters on SNES
Correction. Darkstalkers had 5 games & the collection has all 5 which are Darkstalkers, Vampire Hunter/Night Warriors Revenge, Vampire Hunter 2, Vampire Savior, & Vampire Savior 2.
I actually played a lot of WWE Immortals. I even mentioned the game in one of Paige's Twitch streams and she even went and found her characters' artwork to show everyone else.
Can't wait for this topic, whenever I see you 3 talk individually about this I feel like I learn about a new cancelled FG each time which is both exciting and depressing depending on how good the concept was.
I remember hearing Matt talk about the Lobo game a couple years ago and went “Ah that’s sad, Lobo’s cool so a fighting game with him would be cool” then I saw footage and instantly 180’d into “It should’ve never been developed at all
I wish they talked about “Thea Realm Fighters”. It was a scrapped Atari Jaguar game that featured multiple MK actors. It was 95% finished but was canceled when Atari pulled support for the Jaguar. It was meant to release in late 1995.
1:16:58 I was surprised this rounded out the episode as full details regarding the 2012 Darkstalkers announcement is still left under strange circumstances. While the Comic-Con trailer is well-known, it’s still strange that the announcement trailers sole official appearance is there. It’s never been released in a proper hi-def format for viewing. Regardless if the trailer was meant to announce a new game or the collection, it’s very strange Capcom didn’t include it in the collection. Let’s also not forget that Capcom declared Darkstalkers Resurrection a failure in less than 30 days, right before PSN Sales charts were released placing it in the Top 10 Sales for the month, something salespeople of decent clout could have used to promote the game before the bosses publicly vilified it. Overall, the promotion of Darkstalkers Resurrection was abysmal. This still feels like a project meant to fail, and I’ve yet to see evidence to the contrary. Something not mentioned in the video is SFV’s F.A.N.G. came out of early character designs for new Darkstalkers, which was revealed in Secret File Volume 28 - Street Fighter V - Champion Edition by Takayuki Nakayama. Regardless of the eventual fate of a new game, a comprehensive look as to the development, cancellation, and possible asset reuse from this game would be most appreciated (perhaps a Wha Happun episode). I appreciate this series doing everything it can to promote Capcom Fighting Collection. There’s no guarantee the sales of this will affect anything: a new game for any of the franchises featured, another collection, none of it is guaranteed. These are simply great games that had bad timing (and in some cases bad management or sales expectations) and it’s great that Capcom is giving them another chance simply to receive exposure, and it does seem they’re doing a better job of promoting it than in 2013. I’ve got my copies reserved, so hope to see you all online next month!
Yeah, the whole "Darkstalkers Ressurrection is a flop" story always felt incomplete. Like, where are the actual sales figures? Didn't the game feature in the Top 10 best sellers on the month of its release, some sources saying it even topped Tomb Raider 2013 in that month? How many copies did they want that lame-ass port of 2 ROMs with good online to sell? Despite the abysmal marketing that game had, I've seen fans in championship events advertising the crap out of that game (kinda like influencers are doing with Fighting Collection nowadays). All that is to say, the Capcom Test is a major BS story. I appreciate Max's efforts to hype out the sales for the collection, but the ultimate decision will always lie with the Executives in Capcom, regardless if a "Test Game" actually sells well or not. It's all an excuse so that they can shift the blame of its poor performance on fans and not on their lack of effort/marketing. "Oh, we CERTAINLY wanted to release a sequel to that one series you really like, but you didn't buy 3000 copies of this ROM collection, so its your fault!". Like, come on. Megaman fans have been buying collections for the last 6 years and the best we could get was a low-budget title that felt lukewarm and wasn't what the fanbase wanted (X9, anyone?). The Capcom Test is BS, regardless of what anybody says.
Definitely gonna take a break from fightcade to focus on the online mode for Fighting Collection in June. Hope it helps.. I want a new Darkstalkers AND Cyberbots, since that game also turned out to be so awesome!!
I'm guessing whatever build they had of Darkstalkers "4" is long gone, but I really wish we saw what it would have looked like, even if just screenshots. Translating that series into 3D is still a huge question mark, because we don't know if they'll find a way to keep the original, Tom & Jerry inspired aesthetic, and if that can even look right in 3D. Sure the characters have popped up with 3D models since, but they're largely retooled into anatomically consistent versions. And it also helps that Morrigan and Felicia don't have much in the way of body parts morphing into over the top objects. Now that 2D Fighters have had such a resurgence, it begs the question why not return to sprites for Darkstalkers?
Love your videos guys! You should also try to do a “archetypes” top ten, maybe top ten shotos, top ten grapplers and what makes each of them different from one another, I think that would be fun considering all the knowledge you have about these games
I've said this for years. If you want an obscure character to rocket back into relevance, put them in smash. It worked for several dead franchises who suddenly got new games after their debut in the series after years of silence. Simply making Morrigan and playable fighter is all that needs to happen for the spark to be lit.
The thing is there is a other side to that. Capcom don't make Smash they can't exactly decide to put Morrigan (or maybe more likely Jeddah or Demitri) in it. And while a unexpected character is always a possibility, frankly speaking Darkstalkers probably isn't on top of the list of franchises Nintendo /Sora /Bamco would choose if they decide to add another Capcom representative after Mega Man or Street Fighter. The best Capcom can do is keep including them in their own crossovers.
One game I remember that only had character art to unlock in another game. Toshinden Next was supposed to be a prequel series that had art hints in Toshinden Card Quest. Nothing came of it and we got Toshinden 4 instead.
Another entertaining and interesting episode! It's weird how Capcom went from pumping out fighting games in the 90's to cancelling so many projects in the early - late 2000's. Darkstalkers are not Dead's unknown status still haunts me to this day
I played both both Wild Ambition and Samurai Shodown 64: Warriors Rage down here in Acapulco, Mex. They took a while to get used to their "heavy feel", but had a charm to them, so America for sure got the Cabinets, most people ignored them and went for the latest 2D game right beside them.
Man i remember played Wild Ambition cabinet in my arcade "Center" in the middle of nowhere when was a kid, now that i know how rare was the arcade, i wonder how the hell the Machine get there
10:19 I come from when Capcom Fighting Collection 2 has just been announced. There's no Rival Schools, Street Fighter EX nor Capcom Fighting All Stars in it. There's CvS, Project Justice and Powerstone tho
I randomly heard whispers in a forum that likely doesn't exist anymore about a game called Sammy VS Capcom. It was revealed in 2003 to be a crossover between classic characters owned by Sammy Corp. and Capcom. Sammy merged with Sega later that year and the game faded into obscurity soon after.
My hopes for this Capcom Fighting Collection is that they follow up with either a Marvel Vs. Collection or a Capcom 3D Collection (with Rival Schools, Tech Romancer, Star Gladiator, etc.)
Damn Brazil really is a special place. You guys can find Thrill Kill to play and I played on my ps1 at time! And I got the game from a guy that sold cassava roots on a pushcart at street. He din't have my change so he let me choose one of his ps1 games that he also sold on the street.
Shame never Garou 2 was mentioned that was the example of SNK games cancelled in other part never knew was planned a sequel of Marvel Némesis or Primal Rage 2 was so close to be a thing
47:10 There are a few Kamen Rider arena fighters that have been released over the years...they're not that well regarded, but it proves Matt right that properties besides anime have potential to work in arena fighters.
People NEED to buy that Capcom Fighting Collection if they ever want to see a new Darkstalkers. Put aside any bias you might have against Capcom and grab it. This is absolutely the "Capcom Test".
@@krodmandoon3479 not with that attitude! Go buy the game. Buy 9 more copies for friends, family, your dog, etc. Go out and tell 20 people the game exists. Tell them all the games have online. Tell them everything! Demo the game for them!
Thank you Justin, Matt, and Maximilian for this discussion. As cancelled fighting games go, the ones that I remember that I was aware of are Samurai Shodown V Perfect, Mage The Dark Age 2, and Muscle Bomber 2 (the latter becoming more of a straight up 1v1 style). I also remember the 3D trailer for a Darkstalkers game but NOT much else about it. Personally I would love to see a new Vampire title but am worried about the art direction since the looks of SFV and MvCI will NOT fit the aesthetic that matches it tone. As for Capcom Fighting Collection, I am actually hoping that there will be a nice physical edition via PixNLove for this game since a lot of these games have some great art work and soundtracks but I guess we will have to see. Looking forward to watching next week's episode

@@Dirtyboots3strikes Funny how things change, nowadays Capcom could probably make a first person shooter that mimics most of cods mechanics like killstreaks and whatnot and probably sell better.
I think it was the constant fails of Capcom back in that period that led them to cancel the game. SF X Tekken wasn't as big as they hoped, the MvC3/UMvC3 debacle, the failure of every western reboot (DMC, Lost Planet 3, Dark Void, etc etc), so they just didn't want to make another risky release and just make surefire hits from that point. Darkstalkers has a fanbasy for sure, but is the game that big in the West that justified getting the Street Fighter 4 treatment? If a Dream collab didn't work, why would a franchise that was dead since the 90s will?
So my recollection of Thrill Kill was that it was to be published by Virgin Interactive, but partway through development Virgin interactive was bought out by EA. EA let them developing it, and if I were to editorialize a bit here, were probably hoping they could convince the developers to tone it down enough to not be such a big deal and eventually it was cancelled, probably due in no small part to the ongoing controversy.
tbh Wu Tang: Shaolin Style was an improvement on Thrill Kill imo. Really worked well as an homage to classic Kung Fu stuff more than it would've as a random game to throw on after a night out at a goth club.
I had _the most complete_ Thrill Kill copy available at the time on PS1 as there was a couple of versions available. I was 15 at the time, still in high school. One of my mate's aunties worked nights and used to let us rent games and movies from Blockbuster, pay for us all a takeaway and let us have a crate of stubbies (cheap 3% little french beers) from the garage fridge pretty much every weekend. We rented a Multi-Tap from Blockbuster that night and actually had 4P battles on our copied Thrill Kill all night. Then taking it in turns completing the game and unlocking everything. I remember the night vividly though for a different reason... I threw up a ham and pineapple pizza all in her kitchen sink and got really sick... laying on the cold tile floor, pale as a ghost in cold sweats. And I remember her kicking me awake to clean it up, complaining that I "couldn't handle the beer" and... eurgh... telling me to "break it up with a fork" to get it down the plug hole. ... Worst part is, it's not the cleaning up part that's haunted me for 24 years... It was the comment about being drunk on stubbies when I had very clear food poisoning lol.
Matt has been speaking my language for the better part of a decade. Have you ever played Hol Horse in Jojo HFTF!? That's basically a Trigun character right there. A trigun fighting game is my number 1 unrealistic wish, ever
Gotta pour one out for Eternal Champions 3 on the Sega Saturn. They were sadly still super-early in Alpha when it got the plug pulled so there was nothing ever publicly released but I do wish they had gotten to finish their trilogy. We will never know who the traitor was.
@@pious83 l could understand it if it was a fear of eventually oversaturating the market like Capcom eventually did. But in this case it does come off as just another chapter in the forever story of Sega of Japan and Sega of America hating each others guts.
@@FlashNeko417Exactly. Also, the thing they didn't get (the running theme of Sega) Virtua Fighter and Eternal Champions, although both Fighters, were aimed at different markets. Between that and the inhouse rivalries. Sega's self-inflicted downfall really isn't all that surprising, in hindsight.
I had a burned copy of Thrill Kill back in the early '00. I was playing with a friend and he kept forgetting which character he was each round and I eventually ended up saying: "You're the clown - You're the fucking clown!". We still reference this 20 years later.
Star Wars Celebration is the annual star wars convention. The fact that no company wants to jump on a Star Wars fighting game is insane. It would literally be printing money if they made a really good one.
Another great episode. I think a cool topic to discuss would be some of your favorite “finishing moves” from fighting games. LVL 3’s. Ultra combos, fatalities, team supers, stuff like that.
My nominee is Daruki Tensho - The Fallen Angels AKA the prototype that made the NESTS saga of KOF what is was. And seemingly its complete edition is also canceled too, but there's no evidence of that.
I've got Thrill Kill, and it's perfectly functional; however, they didn't get far enough along to create any cinematics (intros, endings, etc.) so whenever you get to a part where one is supposed to play, it'll just play a placeholder video logo for Virgin Interactive. As for the game itself, the character designs are completely nuts: a dominatrix, a hillbilly cannibal, a psycho doctor, the two-torso man, a little person on stilts, etc. As for gameplay, it's an interesting take on a 4-player fighter: the "round" starts, and everyone just goes after each other, with combos and stuff filling up your meter. When a character fills their meter, they get enhanced with this demonic lightning, after which point they have to go grab another player using any of the four face buttons. Depending on which button you press, you'll kill the person in a different way (a decapitation, explosion, etc.). The next two "rounds" proceed in the same fashion (just with less players each time since you're killing them). After the final, 1v1 round is where the winning character will do their more unique, character-specific fatalities. If you can find a functional copy and wanna indulge your inner psycho, it's a fun time.
One game i wanted to see was New breed...cancelled megadrive game graphics like Killer instinct...though in hindsight i suspect it had barely got anywhere in development just some promo early test renders
you should also do a episode about forgotten characters like characters on fighting games that were cancelled (like ingrid or the other dudes from all stars) or that were only on one game (like idk combot, TTT1 unknown, DeeJay...)
One cancelled fighting game that I was looking forward to before was 10th Degree. Tekken-like 3D fighter from one of the guys who made MK. Looked cool, too bad it never finished. But there are vids around of it, I think.
You have heard of the three wise men, well this is the three wise gamer men of the gaming world. Always a treat listening to Max, Matt and Justin on the Triple KO Podcast or on RUclips.
Hi Matt Max and Justin love your channel so much and your individual channels aswell. I have come across a fighting game channel on RUclips called Arino Games and think you guys would really appreciate the dank gameplay and mechanics that the game had to offer it in bodies everything you talk about what makes a great fighting game. Special to Special cancels Special to super cancels and even super to super cancels
Games these days cost too much to make that companies like Capcom don't do small love letter projects anymore. It would be nice to get a new Pocket Fighter or Super Puzzle Fighter. These games has so much love, details, and easter references to all their franchise. Capcom have expanded so much of their IPs since then. It would be hella crazy to see something like this again.
Honorable mention to this game that actually did that vibe the Thrill Kill kinda aimed for but this did it less gross and that’s Rotten Core, the 2D mugen esc indie fighting game. It genuinely looked amazing and it’s a bummer that it was canceled
The name of the game is Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition! I remember making a JP PSN account just to purchase it since the latest version wasnt ported to the states.
There was also a Rook in Battle Arena Toshinden 4/Subaru. Which sadly was never released in the United States. And there was a PS1 game called Critical Blow. It was tight.
Really no mention of Tekken X Street Fighter? I was so excited for that project even after SFxT was so disappointing. Max has mentioned plenty of times how Akuma being T7 was as close as we were gonna get from what was potentially going to be a Tekken cross over game with Street Fighter characters. So maybe it never started development but I'd still say it was canceled because they did say they intended to make it but never did after the flop.
cancelled star wars games is an entire episode of itself :( battlefront III (before EA era), 1313, darth maul single player game, star wars call of duty, etc.
10:48 Eh, but the Star Fox 2 situtation was much different, the game was 100% complete, they didn't release it because they were afraid that it will damage the sales of the new Nintendo 64. the director of the Mini Snes just notice that they could include it and it will increase the value of the product due to being a "brand new" game.
All this time, it turns out my memory of an arcade Gundam game I played a lot was actually Virtual On. My child brain just saw robots and didnt internalize that it wasn't actually Gundam.
I remember reading about that Street Fighter Flashback game. Was supposed to have some sort of rewind mechanic in it, too. You could like taunt to stop the rewind stuff and it had those simplified commands, like down + punch for a Shoryuken. Sounded cool, at least different.
How have they not retroactively merged Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed? The former is dead, the latter needs a shot in the arm and has been dying to figure out how to work in modern settings.
I played Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition at a Chuck E. Cheese in San Jose in 1996 or something like that.. played for like 5 mins, until i saw Street Fighter Alpha next to it
38:57 I know it's not a fighting game but Dying light did this with a tie-in mobile app. You could sent runners for items then throw the loot into a stash box that you could open in game (on console) it was lit.
Legit my dream fighting game would be a Star Wars fighter in the same vein as Samurai Shodown or even Bushido Blade. Duels where damage is SUPER high with force powers special moves to control neutral. Like using force pull to bring someone in closer for a SamSho heavy slash. I think that would be sick.
To be honest, you guys should do a segment on franchises that NEED fighting games, or those that need BETTER fighting games!!! Also the Justice League arena fighter, Assassin’s Creed Duel, & Marvel Chaos should’ve been finished, alongside WWE Brawl, cuz if they had, who knows when they become big stables of the FGC!!!
The problem is I want to get my hopes up but I know and I've learned a thousand times not to ever do that. If something is going to happen it's going to happen whether we want it to or not. Just have to hope what happens is going to be good and something awesome. Surprises can be good and then sometimes they can be something filled to the brim with micro transactions.
When they were talking about power stone like arena games my mind just went to Shrek Super Slam on PS2, and the Godzilla arena fighter games Also I think the reason why there hasn't been a console version of those mobile fighting games is the way they are controlled, at least with the Marvel one, there is just like 3 attacks, light, medium, and heavy, supers, and block, the way to do them is to tap, swipe, or hold and let go, on certain spots on the screen, at least from what i remember, haven't played that in forever. Though surprise no talk about the Skullgirls mobile game, even just a mention
At this point the only way KI2 SNES can see the light of day is if its released as part of Switch Online and them someone is able to extract the rom in like an hour lol
Ima make some knuckles for ya'll! One will say JSTN WONG, MAX! DOOD and... and... MATT MCMU. but then you all have to fight to the death, it's part if the gift
I hope y’all have a full Tekken episode. I want Max to finally speak on why he hates Jin and Devil Jin. But go in-depth, not just a quick one liner he keeps doing every time someone asked him.
He has explained it before. Basically he really liked Jin back in the day but they changed his moveset and he didn't like the new version. Then because that was a popular sentiment, Namco made Devil Jin and gave him Old Jin's moveset. But Max thinks Devil Jin looks stupid. Basically they removed the character he liked best and now there isn't a main guy for him to dig playing I'm Tekken.
One that comes to my mind is "Tenth degree" by Atari. I have a soft spot for 3d graphics/2d gameplay in the style of Street Fighter EX. They should change that name though.
Justin’s first trip to Japan being through a capcom fighting evolution tournament is some incredible lore

Justin always has the best wallpapers 🤣🤣
My hopes for this Capcom Fighting Collection is that they follow up with either a Marvel Vs. Collection or a Capcom 3D Collection (with Rival Schools, Tech Romancer, Star Gladiator, etc.)
Thanks for yet another great episode. I can't believe there's 7 days to go until the next one. Tuesday is my new favorite day of the week.
Surprised no one brought up Mark of the Wolves 2
Damn Brazil really is a special place. You guys can find Thrill Kill to play and I played on my ps1 at time! And I got the game from a guy that sold cassava roots on a pushcart at street. He din't have my change so he let me choose one of his ps1 games that he also sold on the street.
Remember when Max's dog, Benny, was about to be a character in a game called Beast's Fury? I'm surprised nobody mentioned it.
A lot of controversy around its cancellation
Shame never Garou 2 was mentioned that was the example of SNK games cancelled in other part never knew was planned a sequel of Marvel Némesis or Primal Rage 2 was so close to be a thing
When talking about cancelled fighting games, the two that come to my mind are Clayfighters: Call of Putty and Shaolin Monks 2
Shaolin Monks was a beat em up so just one, buddy.
@@krodmandoon3479 It had a 1-on-1 fighting mode, it is not wrong to believe the sequel would have one as well, although I can see your point
@@Jonny_. So did Zone of the Enders and the first Double Dragon. Granted, the one in SM was waaay better than either of those two.
@@SolidSnake240 I know it, and is why I specifically mentioned the extra fighting mode in that game on my other comment
47:10 There are a few Kamen Rider arena fighters that have been released over the years...they're not that well regarded, but it proves Matt right that properties besides anime have potential to work in arena fighters.
46:49 I like how Matt defined the difference between 2D arena and 3D arena fighters
People NEED to buy that Capcom Fighting Collection if they ever want to see a new Darkstalkers. Put aside any bias you might have against Capcom and grab it. This is absolutely the "Capcom Test".
It's just a shame there's no way to actually pass the Capcom test
@@krodmandoon3479 not with that attitude! Go buy the game. Buy 9 more copies for friends, family, your dog, etc. Go out and tell 20 people the game exists. Tell them all the games have online. Tell them everything! Demo the game for them!
How many fucking re-released versions of the game do I need to buy!!!
I'd love for y'all to interview Doc from Galloping Ghosts! I feel like there would be a lot to learn. It's also on my "To Visit" list at some point.
The whole "Darkstalkers Ressurrection is a flop" story always felt incomplete.
Keep in mind this is the same Capcom that deemed DMC4's launch sales as a flop because it didn't reach Call of Duty numbers...
As ultra said, it simply didn't meet the Call of Duty sales numbers Capcom wanted. They simply aimed waaay too high.
39:05 from what I remember MKX actually did that where you can get the Ninja Mime Cage and Farmer Jax skins from playing the mobile game.
It is so sad what happened to Eternal Champions. Sega opting for one inhouse Fighter IP over the other. Instead of going for both.

1:04:14 I was the one telling Justin about Force Combat! He never said anything so I didn't think he saw it my comments! thanks Mr. Wong!
Hulk Ahegao Face
One game i wanted to see was New breed...cancelled megadrive game graphics like Killer instinct...though in hindsight i suspect it had barely got anywhere in development just some promo early test renders
Tekken x Street Fighter will FOREVER haunt my soul.
About 5 mins in I gotta say Tekken V Street Fighter for me., sad that never got revealed at all. As a Tekken guy I'd have loved this
you should also do a episode about forgotten characters like characters on fighting games that were cancelled (like ingrid or the other dudes from all stars) or that were only on one game (like idk combot, TTT1 unknown, DeeJay...)
There was also a fighting game mode on the Wii version of Forces Unleashed that I personally had a lot of fun with.
One cancelled fighting game that I was looking forward to before was 10th Degree. Tekken-like 3D fighter from one of the guys who made MK. Looked cool, too bad it never finished. But there are vids around of it, I think.
it's playable on mame
45:09 Yes please, anything Berserk or Trigun would be awesome in the modern era, an arena fighter would be totally acceptable to me.
You have heard of the three wise men, well this is the three wise gamer men of the gaming world.
Always a treat listening to Max, Matt and Justin on the Triple KO Podcast or on RUclips.
Great topic! So many cancelled games that I would’ve loved to see!
I remember watching the "Marvel fighting game" announcement! Me and my friends were super hyped about it, too bad they didn't followed through.
That footage for the lost Studio Gigante Star Wars fighting game looks to use the exact same engine and hud as WWE WrestleMania 21 on the Xbox.
Tekken X Street Fighter is always the one I think of, on this topic. No doubt in my mind Namco would have made the superior game of the two.
1:27:42 I know it was a joke, but it would be really cool to have a "Darkstalkers are not dead" official t-shirt ngl
Honorable mention to this game that actually did that vibe the Thrill Kill kinda aimed for but this did it less gross and that’s Rotten Core, the 2D mugen esc indie fighting game. It genuinely looked amazing and it’s a bummer that it was canceled
Not the same as a real cabinet, but you can play a Virtual-On machine in Yakuza Kiwami 2
the darkstalkers sales weren't that bad and if they wanted more for that game, they are more deluded than a guy buying a monkey jpg
The name of the game is Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition!
I remember making a JP PSN account just to purchase it since the latest version wasnt ported to the states.
I love this video series. It made me finally pay attention to podcasts.
Great work guys!
8:39 Max's hair so well groomed for this ad segment
Another great episode!! ❤ But, y'all forgot about the cancelled Garou sequel...
SNK even released character artworks! >
cancelled star wars games is an entire episode of itself :( battlefront III (before EA era), 1313, darth maul single player game, star wars call of duty, etc.
Apologies if it was mentioned here already, but Galloping Ghosts has a Vicious Circle cabinet
The Darkstalkers game that deserves a port is the Chaos Tower one.
The declaration thing reminds me of the YOLO gem in Dive Kick
Dude galloping ghost was so damn cool
I played Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition at a Chuck E. Cheese in San Jose in 1996 or something like that.. played for like 5 mins, until i saw Street Fighter Alpha next to it
I got batied to thinking this topic was picked so Matt can talk about Tattoo Assassins.
I was so bad at Virtual On, like maybe I made it to stage 2 once, but I would play it anytime I saw a machine out in the wild growing up.
36:45 i pay for bombastic bagman,he hope he'll make lotsa spaghetti
i can only count the weeks until Matt runs out of fighting game linguo for the opening segment...cool stuff as always
When they were talking about power stone like arena games my mind just went to Shrek Super Slam on PS2, and the Godzilla arena fighter games
Also I think the reason why there hasn't been a console version of those mobile fighting games is the way they are controlled, at least with the Marvel one, there is just like 3 attacks, light, medium, and heavy, supers, and block, the way to do them is to tap, swipe, or hold and let go, on certain spots on the screen, at least from what i remember, haven't played that in forever.
Though surprise no talk about the Skullgirls mobile game, even just a mention
At this point the only way KI2 SNES can see the light of day is if its released as part of Switch Online and them someone is able to extract the rom in like an hour lol
A screenshot of the full CFAS roster has been posted on Twitter which makes me believe a (nearly complete?) build (for ps2?) does exist...
Strange part is I probably would listen to a whole episode about crock pots and other kitchen items.
I love how Justin wears clothes with his name on it lmao
I topic I would LOVE for you guy to talk about would be hand held fighting games, like game boy games has tons of fighting games
Fan games would be a fun topic for a podcast.
Still waiting for a Fighting music episode
Ima make some knuckles for ya'll! One will say JSTN WONG, MAX! DOOD and... and... MATT MCMU.
but then you all have to fight to the death, it's part if the gift
I love samurai shodown 64 and Buriki one on the Hyper Neo Geo hyper 64. An unreleased fighting I want to see is Tenth degree/Juko threat
You guys forgot about WWF Backlash, the cancelled followup to WWF's No Mercy.
I love that FATAL CUTIE cap.
