- Contra (NES) All Bosses (No Damage). Japanese version of Contra known as "魂斗羅" has a better graphics (see the animation of the trees on the first stage) and some dialogs between stages. This is japanese version of the game with english fan-translation patch. Boss list:

It's been over 2 decades since I played the game. I still remember the scenes and the way I played to defeat the enemies while I was watching. Its stored somewhere in the brain as ready only data.
2009 I started playing this game. I took 10 years to finally beat this game and the feeling of beating it is so satisfying. This is the first time I beat it in 10 years 😭 (tears of joy)

I have an uncle who actually played this game as a kid I decided to play it one day after i bought one of those 1000 in 1 consoles which came with two controllers and he saw he play this and pretty much carried me to the end of the game

I have the original NES with contra and the bosses take a whole lot more shots to kill then this video. This is clearly a pirated copy and you're probably most likely playing on easy mode. I think real Contra fans from the original NES can I agree that all of the bosses in this version die out very quickly with only the only the regular gun.

He says in the description it's the Japanese rom with a fan translation patch. That explains why the bosses die so quickly. This was pretty common for especially the US ports to cut content and bump up the difficulty.
100% right this is super easy mode, just few normal shots and boss is dead.
It totaly makes sense, as fights took way longer than this.

Yeah, I remember Biohazard (Resident Evil Japanese version) in PS1 were a lot easier than western version.

I kept winning because of the upgraded guns, especially the S one, I’ll probably have struggle beating the game without any boost but it’s a challenge I’ll take

It feels like that bosses are levelled down somehow,, they didn't die so fast/easily as far as I remember. But I might be wrong idk, it's been a long time.
Somehow, it reminds me crysis. In other words, maybe, it can be seen as the grandfather of crytek series.
We're conditioned at a young age to believe that "bosses" are evil and to be destroyed and then when you become one you think that your subordinates are pains in the ass lol

@Robertus Wijanarko Hi bro, agreed. It's called spread gun but I was merely naming it's real world equivalent. The Contra Wiki also says it's a Shotgun.
"The Spread Gun (S), also known as Spread, Spread Shot, Spray Gun or Shot Gun, is a power-up that enables to shoot in three to five different directions at the same time and in a spreading manner. It is semi automatic, but starting from Contra III it became capable of fully automatic fire (although still slower compared to the Machine Gun). Since many projectiles usually hit the target at once, it can be considered to relatively deal high damage. Up-close firing results in multiple hits in a single shot, a desired quality when handling bosses."

Sorry but are you poor? This game came out in 1987, 90's games are more like Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64. And if you were born in the 90's you should have played 2000's games when you were young.

You know you are a hardcore Contra player when you're beating the whole game without the use of the Konami code or the Special Weapons.
it is not such a difficult game. try "master baster", or "battletoads" - there you'll see PAIN

Even to this day, I can't beat this game without the 30 lives code. Truly a testament to its fiendish difficulty.
I can beat it easily and sometimes without lives loss. Pretty simple game if you get into it.
I remember my brother would always play it and he would restart the game if he died. So he got really good and he would beat it multiple times without dying. The thing is that he would get angry if he died. I too can beat the game multiple times without dying because of watching him and learning from that. However, i haven't been able to beat the games without dying while using other guns other than the spread shot.
Everybody give this guy the attention he so clearly craves please.
Contra's difficulty is heavily overrated. The game is actually pretty easy unlike some other NES games like Ninja Gaiden.

It was a challenge but I got used to win

W White yeah i beat the game and I didn’t remember that cutscene but one responder said it’s the Japanese version so mystery solved.
But if you notice the short victory music after beating the boss is even different. The American version feels happier whilst the Japanese version is more mellow.

I beat the game in a month when i was 6-7
if i was 5 and got to the final boss it would scare the hell out of me, looking at the 1st phase would probably make sense.
