🎶 "Yes, our teeth and ambitions are bared... Be Prepared!" 🎶 Fun Fact: The best-selling home video of all time, with more than 55 million copies sold to date. Lion's Roar Fact: Frank Welker provided all the lion roars. Not a single recording of an actual lion roaring was used because the producers wanted specific sounding roars for each lion. Method Actor Fact: While recording the scene where Simba gets pinned down by Nala (Niketa Calame-Harris), Jonathan Taylor Thomas was hit on his back to make it sound like he had just gotten the wind knocked out of him. Royal Connections Fact: This is the second film in which James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair perform together as an African King and Queen. Jones and Sinclair were also King and Queen of a fictional African nation in Coming To America (1988). Music Enthusiast Fact: A few weeks before the film opened, Sir Elton John was given a special screening. Noticing that the film's love song had been left out, he successfully lobbied Jeffrey Katzenberg to have the song put back in. Later, Can You Feel The Love Tonight (1994) won him an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
16:17 Hailey 🎉❤ and the lottery ticket from this morning 🌅 I think it's u and get a your phone and get the rest of your own sky's when duty runs out rest good they're not really good call college was super hard to. FF in the rest and up to u and get a picture of 😂
It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart. Especially the fact that Scar gaslights Simba into thinking it was his (Simba's) fault and Johnathan Taylor Thomas' line delivery. Also, I am very glad they cast James Earl Jones as Mufasa. As much as I respect the actor, they almost cast Christopher Walken. Side note: Some of the character's names have meanings translated out of Swahili Simba: Lion Nala: Gift Mufasa: King Sarabi: Mirage Rafiki: Friend Pumbaa: Slow-Witted Zazu: Movement Shenzi: Savage Banzai: Skulk or lurk Taka (Scar's original name): Waste Timon (His name actually comes from Greek): Respect or Honor
According to a myth, elephants have an awareness of when they are about to die, so they suposedly go to a certain place to die, although it's been disproven in the years after this film. When it comes to scientifical accuracy, hyenas are actually just as capable hunters as lions, with an even higher success rate. Mufasa never told Simba to not trust Scar because Mufasa himself never would've suspected his brother to be a cold-blooded killer, he knew he was a drama queen he'd often get into arguments with, but that shocked face he makes just before Scar throws hom to his death, that's Mufasa finally realizing what a monster Scar has been this whole time.
This movie is a masterpiece, it still one of my favorite Disney movies since childhood. Mafusu's death scene was tragic and it's even more tragic now that the voice actor has passed. Rest in Peace James Earl Jones,🙏😔😢🙏
The voices in this film are incredible; starting with Mufasa (James Earl Jones who R.I.P, also was the voice of Darth Vader among another epic roles), and Scar (Jeremy Irons).
This is one of the last drawn movies. Now they use computers to make graphics and it isn't the same. It is a great movie. I just wish Disney would return the old school style they were famous for.
"The Lion King" has many details in common with "Hamlet", the famous novel by Shakespeare. For me, it´s the best animated film ever, with one of the best OST ever composed (by the great Hans Zimmer). ALWAYS touches my heart in some scenes. It´s a truly masterpiece.
she's adorable (not the blonde one 😂) Lion King was the first movie i ever saw in the cinema. My school took us. I was very young, and 1 of the only times ever cried because of a movie if u don't feel something watching the lion king, you're not human

RIP, James Earl Jones, Mufasa, 1931-2024.

Must be a catch-22 thing, nobody would send him now to Vuhledar or Kursk for sure
RIP James Earl Jones aka King Mufasa from Lion King aka Lord/Darth Vader the dark voice of star wars that George Lucas himself was looking for
Hans Zimmer score is so epic. When Simba goes up Pride Rock. So sick.

The 90s were a perfect marriage of new technology and traditional craftsmanship in many ways. Nothing quite like it, before or since.

When Nala and Simba Saw The Elephant graveyard Scar Wasn't kidding Scar was right The Elephant is a dreadful place
You had me all excited to see the new makeup! But I guess I'll settle with just the hair. Keep stirring the pot, my friends!
Saw this when I was 7 years old in the theatre, I remember…just got out of summer camp, it was raining….mufasa death scene destroyed me lol
I've seen this couple before. Amber Blank & her husband went down the same path. Whatever makes em happy.
Lion King is actually a kiddy paradee of Hamlet but less dark.
Because in the actual Hamlet story everybody died. The End!
Can we talk about the elephant in the room...
No pun intended
It's Publizity reacting to the Lion King....it's based off their names.
The movie's audio sounds like PAL pitch, although the commentary still sounds like NTSC.
Lesbians means more than one. I see possibly a lesbian and a man in drag.
