  • Welcome!
    My name is Michele. And welcome to the creative Cove.
    Today’s tutorial is using a fine liner and creating some quick, fun simplified botanical sketches on scrap paper to include into one of our journals. In this case we will make a little pocket.
    We want to capture the form and delicate feel of these flowers, by using a few tips and tricks we can create a realistic sketch with some depth.
    I hope you give it a try.
    If you are new to drawing, try not to be intimidated and add pressure to yourself. Try to relax and slow down the video and take it step by step. Keep all your sketches even the ones you don’t like and with practice your confidence will grow along with your skills and you will look back at your first attempt and see how far you have come.
    I hope this video inspires you to give it a how and add some personal charm to your journals.
    Happy creating!

    Brilliant and Charming, Michelle!!! Going to make a couple later on today!!! I finally found some of those small Brads at local WM!! I had The big brass ones but sometimes just too big... I love that little Wildflower book! I have two copies also!! A 1900s or earlier in good condition, and a newer Facsimile published in early 2000's I bought new when Barnes and Noble was open in Omaha, or Borders.. I forget... So I tore that one apart and use some.. For journals and for sketching inspiration... I'm slowly building up my cache of reference books...Should I ever happen to win a lottery ( Big) Guess what I will be buying lol?!!
    Have A wonderful Spring as First Day Tomorrow (3-20-23/Monday. 💐🌱🌷🌿- M

    Love your scribbles...😃 If you take foil and fold it a few times, then punch away. It will sharpen it up again. Repeat the process until it cuts through your paper. Just a tiny hack.

    Lovely vintage pockets - looking forward to next videos! I now find the more quick tries I have at drawing flowers the better they end up - when I concentrate on details they lose a lot of their 'natural' appearance!
    Thanks for taking the time to show us your skills.

    • @thecreativecove6898
      @thecreativecove6898  2 года назад

      I would agree with you on that. I to find my flower drawings get stiff looking if I concentrate for to long. I think moving the pen quickly create a more organic look. That being said once you get the over all form down you can always go back and work on more detail. 😊
