    Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’
    Prof. Ngure has exemplified that by showing us how to redirect our thoughts from narrow selfish self to broader and pressing problems affecting us all. Kudos Prof…

    • @profngurewamwachofi3243
      @profngurewamwachofi3243 11 месяцев назад

      Yes. The number one impediment towards the end of corruption is the me-myself-and-I mentality, SELFISHNESS. If I fail to understand myself I fail to see how my desires drive me to thinking about me myself only -- then I'm likely to accept and do things that are only good for myself and I. Consequently the suffering of others will be something that I will not be able to contemplate.

    That is why Magufuli did well in Tanaznia. He listened directly from the public, not advisors. Advisors should help the President to package and deliver the needs, not decide what they think the citizens need. The only time Ruto goes to the people is to reply to Raila as if he can't call or email him, and criss crossing the world on Private jet to listen to what the EU wants him to. Even Raila should be waiting for instructions from citizens, then decide when to andamana. Instead, they both come to lecture the illiterate Kenyans who take what they say as if it is the 11th commandment.

    Great conversation/ideas. Unfortunately, leaders don't simply fall from the sky, they're a manifestation of, and aspire only to the ideals/values of the electorate. So if Kenyans are ok with electing into power leaders with tarnished pasts that involve corruption, violence and worse, then that's a reflection of a good number of Kenyans' ideals and perhaps what they then deserve.

    • @profngurewamwachofi3243
      @profngurewamwachofi3243 Год назад

      Really? I think if you pay attention, you might question your opinion. Here is why --> Perhaps if you paid more attention to the fact that the aim of the discussion was to explain corruption's complexity -- how complex corruption is then you would understand why you cannot satisfy the purpose by offering what you refer here as "direct answers". The explanation of why corruption still exists is not a black-and-white matter that can be understood through a back and white explanation. If you watch the discussion a second time perhaps you'll come to a realisation that it is you who is having the problem of thinking that the professor is like a politician. But like everybody else you are entitled to your opinion.
