- Today we return to Titans, Volume 1 squares up against the rest of Teen Titans history! With a slimmed down roster featuring Jessie Quick, Starfire, Donna Troy, Arsenal, Argent, Starfie, Lilith, and many others, this is an interesting time for the Titans. Featuring writing by Jay Faerber and later Tom Peyer, as well as a lot of art by Barry Kitson, there's a lot to talk about here, and we will see if these comics can make the grade!

I agree about the art. While there isnt anything WRONG or BAD about it, the early digital inking and coloring look of the late 90's-early to mid 2000's leaves a lot to be desired.

So I just watched all your Teen Titans reviews and very eagerly waiting for the next one. I know you have to read them all and do an incredible amount of research but Hurry the Hell Up!!! LOL I'm just kidding. I will patiently wait. 😂
I appreciate your analysis. There are some very realistic covers that look so cringy in this era. The Donna Troy mess was so unnecessary when it has been done well in other runs. Im looking forward to the Jeff Johns assessment, but I already know how I feel. I’m much more interested in the New 52 era. I generally hate and try to ignore that reboot - ha ha.
New 52 is a pretty wild set of two different eras I have opinions on (Lobdell and Post-Lobdell), and I'm very excited to talk about Johns!
I have been going through Kyle Raynor Green Lantern, and there are three transition issues between Marz and Winick's run. Written by Jay Feerber, and it was pretty jarring
The D.E.O. kids have become a trope unto themselves.
if you move into the 2000s series by Johns could you also read it alongside Outsiders by Judd Winnick??
both books start because of the events of Young Justice/Titans Graduation Day, and are at their best when read alongside each other as you get to see what Dick and Roy are up to at this time

Yeah the early 2000’s with the titans was so disappointing in my opinion.
You're still there right? Awfully silent lately. Then again this comic run would melt a lot of brains with it's stupidity.
I've been dealing with a lot outside of the channel but hope to get back into the swing of things soon!
