Thank you so much for this. This is exactly where I'm at, thrown into incredible physical suffering by no fault of my own. It has rocked me to the core in my faith, but just as Joni said I know He is all I have, I know He is good, I have to lay down my life for His plan. It is so hard.
Thank you for this. I am a caretaker for my husband who has dementia and also suffered a stroke. Some days I think I can't do this anymore and I have to rely on God to help me persevere.

I suffered when I went through 2 heart and kidney transplant my divorce. I am still suffering with getting through my brokenness that I once had. I know for sure that God is real and he loves us.
God be with you, Joni. As the saying goes "God is good. All the time." I love you. You give me peace and hope. When we get to Heaven, it will all be over and maybe we won't have to think about it any more. I want to whine and complain but I won't. My son is the one who has suffered all his life. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!! Many blessings to you.

My exact question ~ we prayed, had 100% Faith and Trust that my husband would be healed here on earth from Cancer. Instead He gave my husband the ultimate healing by taking him home 1 1/2 yr ago. But we wanted more time here on earth as my husband was only 62yrs old and had so much time to still live here with our family. I’ve been a believer and walked with Jesus my whole life. My faith has been shaken now and am now struggling with faith and trust in God. I’m just shattered 💔

I am praying for you! You are not alone in your suffering.
My only son was 26 when he passed away in his sleep. He Birthday was 32 days previous to that day. He was a realtor and the first house he sold closed on the day he passed. I was so hurt. But I KNEW GOD was in control. My son was very health and had played football from high school to college. He knew Jesus. He was a very humble and happy young man. His position was a linebacker, he would help his op up off the ground after putting them to the ground in the game. He heart was as big as he was. I had to talk with God to understand and be thankful that God let me have this wonderful young man as my son and bring me such wonderful memories. My son didn't leave this earth in a violent way and I was pleased for that. He was sleeping and just stopped breathing. Whatever mission my son was on from the Lord, it was completed and I came to terms it was a Blessing that I was able to nurture him while he was here on the earth. Yes..I miss him very much but I always remember the memories and they make me smile. I use the sun as a reminder of my son that God son Jesus has my son with him. Please be encourage and find the blessing in your husband returning to Jesus. 🫂💖💖
I'm so sorry for your tremendous loss. While my situation was not the same as yours (an incompetent surgeon killed my mother on the operating room table during her cancer surgery),I also experienced a faith crisis. How can this terrible event happen? I prayed that she would be healed, that her soul would be saved when the doctor lied and said there had been complications when in reality she was already dead. I begged, cried, pleaded, bargained with God. After she died, I gave all my feelings, my hatred of her surgeon, my expectations to God because I couldn't carry the burden. I knew the Word commands us to love and to forgive but I was so full of sorrow, rage, pain, hatred for the surgeon, etc. I prayed that no root of bitterness would spring up in my heart. I prayed that God would let me see the surgeon through God's eyes of love. Most importantly God taught me that as believers we are bond servants of God. Who are we to judge God's purposes or plan for us, let alone judge God's plan for other people? Does a servant judge their master? If I truly believe God is who He says He is, then I must, with God's help, accept what has happened while knowing God never left or forsaked me. Where was God during my terrible times? He was there carrying me and weeping for my loss as a good father would be. Nothing happens to us without God's permission and it is all according to God's plan. I can't understand God's plan because my mind is finite and God's mind is infinite. Somehow he uses even the horrible things to His good and His purpose. It is a mystery but what else can we do but cling to the Lord as the storm rages. It has been a long process, a journey and just when I think I have done a noble thing through God's grace and not of my own power. I must accept that our time/day/manner of death is God's choice and this was very hard for me. I cried out to God, "Why?" Over time came the quiet realization of, "Why not." God is sovereign. He can handle all our questions, emotions, disappointments. Lay it all down at the foot of the cross and keep laying down as the need arises. If you ask Him, He will give you His grace and His strength to do what needs to be done. God always heals just sometimes He heals on earth and sometimes in heaven. Sending you love and hugs. I will pray for you. 💐🙏😭

God allows free will, men create pain and suffering. He uses pain and suffering to call us back to him, it's easy to forget God when everything is going good in life.

- strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
God comes only to save soul, not the world. We believe in him just for comfort, give us rest.
So true we all either are mad r we don't understand, it's not for us to question?? They are reasons for all things , true it hurts us so much but in time all things will make sense , just trust God amen blessings always ❤🌹🙏🙏

I have been there mad at God. After being molested over a summer in the 1970's I spent a lot of time asking God, if he is there why did I have to go through that for a whole summer. And I told God. I was raised in the church so I believed there was a God but I sure was mad at him for alowing me to be molested. But after years of holding that knowledge inside of me I finally told my pastor after reading some book. I don't remember what it was or what it was about. And I have several years with a psychologist I finally learned it was not God that caused it, it was the evil and perverson that was in that man. So now I am no longer a victim, I am a survivor. I praise God for what he has done and what he id going to do with me in the future.
Completely understand that suffering and eventually death as a result of sin and free will. The question I get is ok say we die as a result of our sin but why does God find it necessary to allow an agonizing death for the righteous instead of just taking them?

Allow? Do you step in the middle of every fight your children have in the back yard or in their room?
God doesn't allow anything. We have free will. The world and our lives are determined [collective and individual] by our CHOICES, ACTIONS and INACTIONS.
This is Duality. The dual is with yourself. Learning? RIGHT FROM WRONG.
Evil is a cultivation tool in this garden game of life, God made.
NEEDED, perpetuated and even rewarded. BECAUSE it's necessary to tempt you, to give you choice. TO TEST YOU.
IT IS A VERY SIMPLE LESSON. RIGHT FROM WRONG. When you learn it, go RIGHT, to advance from this.
When you falter, and you will, be sure to make amends and learn something. APPLY then in life and world, to better both.
YOUR CONSCIENCE is your soul's red line. THIS, is what you will be judged upon.
When you are in pain, God is in pain. He lives vicariously through you, like any parent.
He gets it. He understands. CAUSE HE DID ALL THIS TOO, when he was a child!
Mankind, is God's one and only son [CHILD].
God has laid down all available paths. You decide where, when, why and how fast or for who.
YOU NEED ONLY MAKE GOOD CHOICES. When you sin, make amends.
IT IS THAT SIMPLE.
A sin is everything and anything that crosses YOUR conscience.
The red line in the sand, is defined by you [SOUL].

Faithful FatherGod!!!! This world inherited a sin-nature because LIFE was LOST in the garden…that’s why Jesus came to earth to
give us Second Birth…to REconnect the world back to FatherGod!!! Unless one is born again/John 3:3, your life stays under satan’s control…the transformed LIFE in Christ allows Holy Spirit to indwell you sooo you
can keep the devil under your feet where
it/he belongs!!! One cannot live victoriously in the fallen world without Holy Spirit…it’s just that simple!!!! In this world, you will have
tribulation, but take heart, I/Jesus have
overcome this world AND we can too IF
you are born again/ REborn from ABOVE!!!

Almighty God does not "allow" anything without his implicit knowledge and direct involvement.
Wait don't tell me, God has a plan for you that includes pain.
So pain is a teaching process that brings you closer to him.
It could also be that pain can be overcome with exercise, pain relievers, and a healthy diet without believing a primitive Hebrew god is trying to tell you something.
Because he obviously doesn’t exist.
@RyanPen33 When you see a painting you know there was a painter even if he died a hundred years ago and when you see a building you know there was a builder even if he died 50 years ago. So, when you look around and see the blue skies hear the birds sing witness the miracle of childbirth see rain fall from the sky etc. You know there is an intelligent designer. Could it be that the reason you say he doesn't exist is because you are doing things that you know are morally wrong things that He would frown upon? Have you ever heard the bible verse the wages of sin is death God is paying you in death for your sins and your death will be evidence to you of how serious God is about sin. Intelligence Test: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Have you lied, stolen, used God's name in vain, or lusted {which Jesus said was adultery, Mt. 5:28}? If so, God sees you as a liar, thief, blasphemer; and adulterer at heart, If you die in your sins, you will end up in a terrible place called Hell. But there is good news. Though we broke God's Law, Jesus paid the fine by dying on the cross: " God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" {John 3:16}. Then Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds of eyewitnesses. He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Savior. Be intelligent: repent and trust in Jesus today, and God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life {Ephesians 2:8,9}. Then, to show your gratitude, read the Bible daily and obey it, join a Christian church, and be baptized.

I think this is VERY true. Think of eternity. This life is but a flicker of a candle compared to the afterlife. I don’t think God wants suffering. It’s just a matter of living in a fallen world touched by decay. He wants to help us navigate through a broken world until the time comes where we’ll be living with no tears, and no suffering alongside Him in Heaven. I think He can take tragedy and produce something in us that is deep and character building if we allow it…. But we don’t have to allow it. We can just sit and suffer and grow bitter if that’s our choice. I know my mom has said when she lost her dad a 15 yrs old. It changed her and sobered her up about life. She said that she could look back and see the steps of her path change from a young girl who would probably have made a lot of fleshly decisions based off an immature pleasure seeking immaturity or frivolity about life to now looking at life a little deeper and seeking a meaning to it all that goes beyond pleasure. She’s been a VERY good mother, and I wonder what she would’ve been like if things had turned out differently. Sometimes working through pain causes us to be more sensitive and thoughtful human beings. Character traits we can take with us to Heaven, AND also use to effect the lives of those around us while we’re still breathing the air God gave us. “ To live is Christ to die is gain”
