    I think your inpatients and bananas and sweet potatoes are still so tropical compared to here... now the huge big leaf maple trees dropped all their leaves, and all the flowers are gone..everything is grey and wet.....rain last 4 days......My surviving bananas are still green and O.K. base mulched with hazel nut leaves...for this winter.......yeah your yard is still georgous...thanks Jeff❤

      I hear ya! It's definitely starting to feel like fall here too, but I'm holding onto the warm weather as long as I can!

    Hi Jeff! It's amazing how pretty your gardens still look this late in the year. I would hold onto the warmth as long as I could, too. I live in Idaho and we've had quite a few nights below freezing and it has taken everything in my raised beds and barrels. Thank you so much for sharing!

    Hi Jeff, oh gosh weather can be so crazy and I live in Idaho and the weather can be so crazy especially closer to December when we always get alot of snow. I think that your garden is so beautiful and you are so good at keeping the plants you want to survive survive. Turbo is so adorable and I love seeing him run around with happiness. Take care I am sure you will be getting alot of rain coming and also alot of weather. Sending love and hugs, bye!! 🥰😍😘💕💖💜💜💜💜

    @33:02 Yes thats what its like in the deep south. haha. Made me giggle.
    Cannas here require a yearly "reset" meaning in the fall or early spring (late winter) you dig them, divide, dispose (because of so many)! and replant for the season ahead, otherwise they do exactly what yours have done - INVADE and CONQUER! Personally, I love them and think their worth the maintenance.
    New banana varieties sound cool! Can't wait for that! :)
    DON'T DITCH the Diamond Head! Those are glorious! Woot!
    For the Crape Myrtle - I've used Bonide "Stump and Vine Killer" (as directed) and its worked 100% of the time I've used it.

      I had forgotten how cannas keep going. The last decade we've had these random frost in October that kill them back. Totally worth the effort! Especially since they usually pull up no problem once you go through with a spade to cut/divide the rhizomes.

    Hi Jeff 👋 How are you doing? Turbo is so funny 😂 You know how I love the Cordylines and Gingers here in zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast. I will be getting more come springtime 😊 FREE artificial Bamboo? Yes please... give me 2 of them.. 😁 We finally got some rain for the past 3 days with more to come. Your gardens are still looking BEAUTIFUL 😍 The Impatiens are AMAZING still. DANG the Alocasias are HUGE!! 😮 The leaves alone are like 5 ft right? I agree about the cost of PW. I know they are great plants but, on SS it makes no sense. That hanging basket worth of plants could end up being $80. bucks I would think. 😕 I love the look of the tall skinny Arbs! 😍 I wish I could grow them here. 😕 I really enjoyed this garden tour Jeff. Thank you for sharing. Take good care and we will see you Wednesday. 😊

    oddly, a bunch of the Harlequin Cordyline showed up here recently. Hadn't seen one all year yet they were available up north. Need to pick up a couple.

      They're my favorite! Them and the kiwi, which is basically just a small harlequin.

    I think a rabbit had your begonia for lunch or if you had any deer come in you back yard they will be gone in no time. When I cut my rex or cane begonias back i toss the cuts out the back door and they are gone the next day. I have a herd of deer living in my yard year round.

      Maybe! It started late in the year bc we had a rather cool spring and summer.

    Well bro, imagine 60-80 mph winds from here in Jacksonville when Milton came thru. So 30-49 in west county is nothing. But, I do miss your color change my dude. Gotta love it. 😂 could you discuss more info on how you over winter your palms? Always curious how that works - including costs

    • @TropicalPlantParty
      @TropicalPlantParty  2 месяца назад

      Yeah 30 to 49 isnt a big deal, just hard on the microphone was more my point. The color change is nice! It's also very brief though, goes from colorful to just blah brown and gloom in no time.

    Is your grow space a 3 car garage? Cause man I can't image the amount of work and storage you have at the end of a season. I used to have to dig up all my Canna's at the end of summer and that alone was a job and a half while you've got like a entire traveling petting zoo of tropicals to store. Here I was watching the squirrel mafia outside my window on Halloween with a chai tea and it looks like your state iwas getting blown over. I'm gonna miss your jelly fish hanging baskets and moster Croton!

    • @TropicalPlantParty
      @TropicalPlantParty  2 месяца назад

      Yes it is! Luckily I don't have to dig up anything except for the alocasias and everything else can stay in the ground with mulch.
