Not everyone's perfect but the people who accepts it is closer to being perfect then the person who is in denial and it takes a lot for a person to talk about there past like that and I feel like you really opened up to us and that awesome

I'm 12 and I don't drink, do drugs, or smoke. despite that I still cant feel anything. mostly emotions are my problem, but I've seen doctors for so many tests that I'm almost entirely numb to the pain. I hate when people say that they wish they couldn't feel, I know it's hard but feeling nothing is torture. Its hard because no one understands, and my lack of emotion causes me to hurt those around me, leaving me all alone.
You are correct- being numb is the worst thing because you become DESPERATE to feel ANYTHING.

Man this song is with me forever rest of LIFE!... For some reason it makes me think of someone that I knew well that person gave me very bad ptsd where almost everyday plays in my head over and over... He even says it in the verse "wishes I can just feel something like robotic. No matter what I do I can never escape it literally follows me!! This song in a way makes me live my life to the fullest it helps me SURVIVE!
This song can also looked at many ways.. too in a way automation is taking over one day robot's will take over jobs .. as of now man is the machine.

I've taken so many activities during the day just so I don't have time to feel anything but physical pain and tiredness. Otherwise my brain will not shut up and I can't go to sleep. And I know that if I stop I will reach for something like alcohol or worse. I shouldn't feel like this, I have done nothing bad, I've hurt no one. I help the people I know but even that doesn't make me feel much better when I come home. Honestly, I feel like I need to find a worthy cause to die for, because there's nothing that makes me feel alive anymore. 7 years of this hell and no respite or end in sight.

i strongly recommend Fallen Angel by Three Days Grace. The story behind it gets me. This band saved my life and I'm just like you. When music gets you that emotional it shows you what you need to do to better your life. Props to you

I love this song because it reaches out to me in a way that I think it reaches you, Yetagamer. I was addicted to opioids when I was 14 all the way through to about 18 years old. During that time I was emotionally broken, couldn't feel a damn thing other than sorrow. Sorrow for what I've become and sorrow for what I've done to my family for making them see what I had become. I was machine. But now I am human.
I felt the same way for almost 2 years, just keeping yours eyes open is a victory because you cant see the light in the dark with your eyes closed. Dont let yourself be restricted by what others think should bring you happiness either, unless you decide something makes you happy it wont.

Im so glad you got through such a horrible part of your life.My mother had a ex fiance who relapsed in to drinking and I rember being so scared of him.I always got a feeling of ungoddly pain from him once he started drinking again.He end up leaveing due to his addiction even though he was such an amazing man.I wish you well, you have so much streangth thank you.

I'm new to this channel but I've enjoyed watching you react to songs you're not familiar with and I've been enjoying for years and to see you appreciate it so wide open and not so quick to judge anything I know there aren't plenty of open minded nearly senior citizens out there but to see someone so well connected is refreshing you keep doing you.
It's quite interesting that this song to you is about addiction. The band wrote it about how people go through the same routine every day/night and start to feel like they're not humans and how that has a numbing effect on you and you stop to feel and you want to but you feel like you're trapped in this routine. And yet to me speaks in entirely different way. I loved this song from the first time I heard it. I love TDG and their songs always have the power of moving you. I suggest you to also listen to "Painkiller" which is a song about addiction told from the pov of the vice your addicted to and "Fallen angel" a song of loss and wanting to be there for somebody who is struggling (these are from the new album).

I understand a bit of what you mean by wanting to feel, but for a different reason. I was tormented in my past and gave up my humanity briefly and without it I couldn't feel anything but I desperately wanted to feel something other than the emptiness, trying to correct everything I've done

I know how you feel. I am only 15 and at 14 I started to have suicidal thoughts because of how I was treated. I felt empty.

I feel it too so much.. when I first heard this song, I was deep into basically trying to kill myself with pain meds every day, not consciously, I was just getting high and ended up with such a tolerance. this song actually helped me get sober. here's to three years clean for me, at least from abstaining from getting high.
