Ranger Tremor Revealed - We asked for Raptor but got Tremor - Is it enough?

  • We were impressed by the Tremor package on the Super Duty because it added off-road performance without significantly reducing the payload and towing capability of the truck. Ford has achieved the same results in the Ranger. Add in a couple of Bronco finishes and this could be the only Ranger to buy. Is it enough although it's not a Ranger Raptor? You be the judge and jury.
    Is there any reason to pay for $1300 for an FX-4 package when for $4300, an extra $3000 you can get the REAL off-road deal?

    I’ve done extensive research on the TRD Pro, ZR2, ZR2 Bison, Gladiator and Tremor. I’ve watch about 100 RUclips videos comparing them off road, and several comparisons on road. I just went and bought a Tremor.

      So far it’s been awesome !!! Gave it a 1” level kit, a Raptor grill, smoked side markers, smoked sequential mirror signals, raised letters on the tailgate. Love this truck

      @@robgibney4754 Haha that's great to hear. I gotta tell you being in big city filled with tacos it's nice to stand out and this truck certainly does that lol. If I might ask, what have you used the outfitter switches for? I mean beyond labeling them as smoke, oil, missiles, ejection etc lol

      Haven’t got anything yet. Got the truck at the end of the summer and we’ve got 5’ of snow now. I’m looking at the Rough Country LED’s that go in the slots in the bumper. Going to put a light bar on the front of the canoe rack. Ditch lights. I don’t do any recreational off roading. However I do go fishing in some pretty remote places and it will be a lot easier now than in my old King Ranch.

      @@robgibney4754 Cool. Yeah I'm not a serious off-roader or rock climber I just want to be able to go cross country when necessary. Mud, snow and sand is all I need the truck to handle and boy it sure does that. The engine they put in this thing is a torq monster lol. Been looking at lights myself but can't decide to mount more in the front or just get an over the cab light bar. Been looking at the Ford Performance mini roll bar that mounts behind the cab and can carry lights. So many choices lol. Cheers!

    Ford just keeps getting more competitive. Was looking at comparable rigs, but this is now a strong contender for my next upgrade!

    Recently purchased the 2021 Ranger Tremor with Lariat trim and I really like this truck. Quick and nimble, with more than enough low end torq to get you out of most off-road situations. I especially like the simple yet still plush interior. It's easy to maintain and keep clean. Here in socal I get a lot of favorable comments about it. Mine is cactus grey without any additional graphics beyond the Tremor decal. I'm no rock climber so if that's your thing I have nothing to report but mud, snow and sand has given me no problems whatsoever. I also like that I'm getting 23-24 mpg on the highway at 75 mph. All in all I'm very happy with it. That being said there are a few things I would change.
    1.Tailgate damper should be standard (bought from Ford and installed myself )
    2.Larger gas tank. It's 18.2 but would have preferred at least 22
    3.Tremor decal should have included 4x4. Enough people have asked me if it's 4WD lol
    4.The PNRDS readout next to the shifter should be functional and lit.

    I bought the 2021 xlt tremor package and it's an awesome truck that's the truth..it's a BEAST 🤠

    We've been jonesing for a Ranger Raptor but got a Tremor. Is it enough? Is it a better choice than Frontier Pro4X, Tacoma TRD Pro, Jeep Gladiator or Colorado ZR2? Is it worth the extra $4300 USD/$5250 CAD? And yes, at 4:56 it should say $5250 CAD not the difference between the FX4 and Tremor at $3850 CAD.

    I like it making it not available in XL or Super-Cab configuration takes me out of the potential owners. I will have to buy an FX-4 and do the other upgrades.

    Stock ranger DIY. Bought my 2020 ranger FX4 and added eibach suspension, basically the same thing haha. Also have a yakima outpost HD rack, Roam Vagabond Lite tent, and prinsu roof rack.

    I bought a Ranger Fx4 three months ago.
    I’m adding a 3.5” BDS lift with 33” tires.
    Yea, that make it a little more capable than the Tremor.
    The Tremor lack front lockers. The only midsized that has it is the ZR2.

      The Gladiator Rubicon has front locker.

      No the gladiator has front locker aswell and ranger has front lsd though

      THE WOFFORDS - Your right, I forgot about the Gladiator.
      Great truck. The only caveat to that one is it’s break-over angle.

    I like it not sure about the value of it though. Switches for a winch but the front bumper isn’t winch ready. Agree rails over those steps would of been better.

    While i cannot afford a new truck, i am still partial to the Colorado with the diesel. If Ford would offer a V-6 turbo diesel in the Ranger Tremor it would be a no brainer. Unfortunately it is just an exercise as SSDI doesn't pay anywhere near close enough to afford what a new vehicle costs now days. Too bad. There are some really cool choices out there.

      Ford, 5 Star Tunning and other 3rd party engineering companies offer a package to tune the stock Ranger engine and get more HP & Torque than a ZR2 Durimax diesel. It’s about $2800-$3500 package though! A hefty cost. Yet it was tested and it’s faster than a stock Raptor!

    After the Aussies got their Ranger Raptor, I've been excitedly waiting for Ford to bring it to the US. So when the Tremor was announced, I was overjoyed. Even if it lacked the turbodiesel of the baby Raptor from down under, surely it would still be awesome right? But as more details about the truck are revealed, the more I feel like Ford half assed the Tremor. $4,000 for some shocks, tires, and ugly graphics? Really? I could do tires myself. The aux panel is just about the only thing good about it. I appreciate the fact that Ford is upping the off road fun factor without sacrificing utility, but it still seems like too much money for too little upgrades.
