Hi Kate. Meat? is one of my fav things to pressure can. One of the easiest thats for sure lol.. got up this morning..all sealed..all levels good..and zero liquid..ALL TURNED TO GEL..beautiful flavor topped GEL... i can't stop looking at them lol ha ha ha.. hope you try these.. either season or dont ( i do not..that way it's great even for pulling off bone and adding to a sandwich or salad as well.) you will love these.

I canned chicken on the bone two weeks ago I actually used some in a pasta casserole with cheese yesturday. My chicken legs were huge though and I had to do them in quarts. I ran out and I used my Classico pasta sauce jars and they worked great
omg your brave lol.. i've been saving my classico jars as well.. but for water bath projects.. you used it in pressure canner and it's all good? hmm.. Isn't the chicken so tasty done up like this? compounded flavor by cooking it with the bone.. and so tender eh? glad your enjoying the use of your canner. i think the butcher knocked off some baby meat birds eh? see how weenie the drums are? lol.
Thank you so much 🤗 they are kind of UGLY in the jar but the flavor from cooking with the bone in? and so handy to have fresh roasted chicken on hand..from the shelf. 💖💖🙋♀️

This is so cool I only do chicken breast, didn't realize we could do boned things as well .. the health benefits from the bones in the broth will be amazing !!! Went to freezer where I have a 5kg of drums .. pulled them out to have a look, they looked huge got a pint jar out .. I wouldn't even be able to fit more than 1 per jar, so will have to look for smaller drums or try doing quarts. Maybe the chickens in NZ are bigger, your size drums looked perfect.
You know the knob bit of the drum? I have pinched them off prior to canning to make fit.. ive also put the larger ones into quarts. I save those for company as it holds more food then andy and I need. Just do your quarts for 90mins. Your going to love these. Let me know how you make out

I've canned drumsticks, but I haven't opened a jar yet. It's an easy project. My canner sat new in the box for 2 months, then I tried it. I am so glad you did this video! I have reg mouth pint jars and was nervous, but think we will be okay for this run. Picked up 60 lbs of drumsticks at $0.99 / lb today! Should yield 36 pints on the shelf. Did you process for 65 or 75 minutes w/ bone in...? Thank you!
Hi Peggy and Andy! You made this look so easy. I am going to be looking for drumsticks on sale so I can try this. Great video, I enjoy the way you both kid each other and laugh together. Thanks for sharing 🌞
Thanks for this video tomorrow i will try my first pressure canning ever here we go i am doing thighs. Question so they are fully cooked when the canning is done?
Yes they are. if your doing pints? 75 min's process time. If doing quarts? 90 min's processing time. the meat AND BONE are tender. They say bones are then safe for the dogs. ( that soft) but i've honestly never trusted to give them the bones. .. Tony do TRY to use wide mouth jars as it makes it easier to remove the meat full. carefully remove and brush the gel broth from them.. toss on a hot grill..heat up with perhaps some bbq sauce coated over them and heat for grill marks.. or.. heat in oven with the juices which make an amazing gravy afterwards. ( we will also pull from jar and eat cold with salads... so so many uses. Let me know if you need help we can hit the messenger chat..

well...you CAN season.. i choose to wait to see what im opening the jar for..if it's to pull the meat off for a salad or sandwich? i can season then.. if for a drumstick cold plate? i just glaze like italian salad dressing or bbq sauce..then toss on the grill to heat and sear..or serve cold.
why should you ever can them raw packed?? completely no taste at al if you can drumsticks raw it is just a waste of jarspace you end up with plain cooked drumsticks... why??? l, i season them spicy and grill or roast them or use the airfryer to get them nice and crispy (that does not stay during canning i know) and then i can them. , if i do rawpack chicken i use chickenthigh meat ,much more productive, but to be honest i dont like it very much i usually fry the chunks and then can them, much more taste that way

It’s confusing bc one person said that with bone in the time for quart would be in canner for 75 bc of bone in.
Safe some for us🐶⚘🐺🐾
oh yea.. forgot to mention...contents of jar..broth, meat and bone? all soft..our doggies? loveeeee these things lol
He has two and you one🍗so three works perfect!!
for us yes. but honestly? the dogs would be so sad.. they often get the 4th one..bone and all.. its so tender.
So no liquid...guess I know what I did wrong now, lol...what a mess it was with liquid. I'll try this again. Oh I don't like that slimy greasy chicken feel either. I hear your "doorbell" works great, lol, 🐕 Yeah, those already look way better than mine did. 😄
Christine? go check our community tab.. i just uploaded the pic of those jars i took this morning after washing and labeling.. check how the broth is solid gel... wait till you see Mondays video lol ruclips.net/user/pegsclipscommunity

Wow so no seasoning🤔
well...you CAN season.. i choose to wait to see what im opening the jar for..if it's to pull the meat off for a salad or sandwich? i can season then.. if for a drumstick cold plate? i just glaze like italian salad dressing or bbq sauce..then toss on the grill to heat and sear..or serve cold.
Roseanne???
Dinner in a jar!
i can grab two other jars with this meat jar and have a picnic..video to come lol
why should you ever can them raw packed?? completely no taste at al if you can drumsticks raw it is just a waste of jarspace you end up with plain cooked drumsticks... why??? l, i season them spicy and grill or roast them or use the airfryer to get them nice and crispy (that does not stay during canning i know) and then i can them. , if i do rawpack chicken i use chickenthigh meat ,much more productive, but to be honest i dont like it very much i usually fry the chunks and then can them, much more taste that way
