Data is showing for the first time in the years of population decline that you noted, Cleveland has not lost population in 2024. In fact, its looking like population may actually start to grow over the next 5-10 years because it is one of the more affordable places to live relative to the rest of the US.

Moved here from NYC about 7 years ago. I really enjoy the easier lifestyle. The only thing that might make me leave is the long winters and the tendency for the snow to turn into ice really quick here.

Great video and excellent points but as a Clevelander, for the love of God, it's Cuyahoga County! No extra 'a' :P. I swear.....West Siders .

Moved from Portland, Oregon to Parma summer of 2024. I’m originally from Syracuse, NY area so i am very familiar with the weather. No worries there.
Only complaint i have of the area really is the speed trap cameras. Mostly in Parma. Other than that it’s great. People here are friendly and easy to talk to. You’d literally have to try to avoid talking to people, cuz people will strike up a conversation often. In Oregon people are very pretentious, surface level, and dont talk. It’s the complete opposite here. My kids are doing great in school and instantly made friends here!
    The people are the best!
I picked parma for its affordability and proximity to rest of the city. Its crime is lower than most cities of equal size. Wife and i have gone to guardians games and concerts in downtown late at night….no issues. We even went to edgewater beach on 4th of July. I’d say have your wits about you and just pay attention. Should be fine. The cops have good response times here also.
I would say if you’ve never lived in a cold environment it wont be for you…..i think it’s great though.
Food here is good, even the sushi.
The beach. Unsalted no sharks or tsunamis.
    Virtually no traffic.
Roads can be rough but most are fine, id say the city ranks at about a C+ for roads.
Schools (yes even in Parma) are 100x better than Portland, OR schools i assure you.
Oh one more thing I dont like. The water utility company here is a joke. It’s near impossible to get ahold of them and even when you do I they often dont even know what to do……but once you manage to get that figured out it’s great.
The metro parks system is awesome. Hocking hills area south of Cleveland is unreal. It feels like a totally different state. Felt more like New England down there really.
If you’re coming here please respect the people, culture, and don’t be rich lol. We need this city to remain reasonably affordable.
