Aidilfitri or in Indonesia spelt as Idulfitri is a term origins from Arabic language. Aidil/Idul or Eid in Arabic means Day of Celebration and Fitri from Fitr means Feast which is Day of Celebration after 1 month of Fasting . or it also means Day of Celebration Original Disposition (Fitrah) hence for Muslims have to pay Zakat Fitrah to help underprivileged people to celebrate Raya. Other types of Zakat are for your wealth, investment, gold, agricultural stocks etc will be based on the amount and other terms.
This puasa thing can also transcend to Chinese eating pork, and muslims not eating pork. For example, in a restaurant, the chinese have their right to eat pork, and muslim can order something not pork. No biggie. Doesn't have to cause big hoo ha. It's just like some Buddhist don't eat beef, that doesn't cause any problem in a table, restaurant if a non-Buddhist eat beef there.
@@leealex24so let say, you and I went to a Non-Muslim restaurant serving pork in their dish, let say you ordered a pork dish, and according to you, as a Muslim I could order something that is not a pork dish, let say I ordered fried rice, using chicken and vegetable oil instead of pork or lard. Can you guarantee that the fried rice is not cooked using the same utensils used to prepare your pork dish? Because if it did, the fried rice is still “non-Halal” for Muslim.
@@MsGaijinSyauqi Let me ask you a simple question. Did your religion tell you not to eat pork or not eat the food where it's served using utensils that serve pork? Don't just simply create something out of thin air, or just because influenced by extreme politicians. Let me tell you something. Many Buddhists can't eat beef, do they enforce not able to use the utensils that serve/cook beef? The answer is NONE.

I don’t know about this channel before but I think the algorithm suggested because of Ceddy! I love Ceddy! So proud of his achievements as a content creator. Not all CC has the brain, humble and respectful while doing content. Just as Malay peribahasa “ikut resmi padi, semakin tunduk semakin berisi” meaning the higher power you are the more humble you become. Fly higher Ceddy ❤🎉
Duit raya was given without 'green envelope' back in o'days, they just give sylings and RM1 notes, then the kids will keep the money into their little bag. they will go from house to house to ask duit raya, like Halloween kinds of visitations.
I remember when young that time dun have this Duit Raya thing. How it came by is because of Kongsi Raya back then. Then Banks chut pattern come out with Green and Red Packets. Then slowly become a tradition. 😂😂 U should ask ppl in the 70s and 80s. Tanya salah orang la...
Giving money packet to kids has always been an Eid tradition doesn't matter where the country is, regardless of Chinese population presence or not. It's sunnah to celebrate kids during eid, and monetary gift is just one of them. Using green packet might have been inspired by hongbao, but the practice of duit raya has always been an eid tradition doesn't matter what country, albeit on different names.
During my primary school time (Year >=1985), don't have green angpao. But i can't remember which year then start green angpau for Muslim and gold angpau for India. At Oman also don't have green angpau for Muslim. I think green angpau only in Malaysia/Singapore.
For ang pao part, I think giving small gift is always a thing during Hari Raya, then over times that small gift changed into money bcos it is easier, then over times the money is given in an envelope just like angpao. So I think it is the envelope part only taken from Chinese tradition.
Wish all Malaysian a Happy Hari Raya~~ 😊😊 (yerrrrrrr~~~ as a org Msia now at overseas, this video make me miss raya so much lor... sadly, the negara I'm staying right now not celebrate raya one 😮💨😮💨)
Aidilfitri Or Eid Ul Fitr means the day of returning to fitrah (original disposition) which is clean and pure. One of the purpose of Ramadan is to cleanse our body and soul ( there is a scientific research on the effect of fasting to our body). So the morning of raya we must be cleansed. Asking forgivness is also the way we cleansed ourselves as in Islam, the sins towards other people can only be cleared by the ones we hurt zahir or batin. Zakat is also known as property/wealth cleanser in Islam. So in conclusion Aidilfitri is the day we are cleansed in all aspects while clebrating our victory over Ramadan.

@@leealex24You forgot that halal includes the way of preparation and serving, as well. If the utensil or cookware used is touched by lard/pork even by a bit, then it renders the whole supposedly halal food as haram already. This include pork eaters drinking from any cup, accidental spillage on the table etc. You need to do special cleansing to everything that is touched by pork/lard in order to use halal food on them.
i thought this kind of fasting was made to remind the believers of the sufferings of the less fortunate, so that they will understand the hardships in life. the purpose was to make them live with less excesses, be helpful towards the poor and to make one a better person through faith and will power. of course there are also many fringe benefits that come with fasting.
I remember duit raya starts with green packet when we had kongsi-raya in the 90s. Because we cina give ang pao, takkan we don't receive ceh pao in return? 😂
Duit raya are similar to sedekah. The different is, sedekah we only give to people in need, while duit raya is for anybody that we wish or want to give, and no, it did not copy from angpau.( the only copy are the use of envelope). In the old days, we just give the duit raya without envelope.😊
asal usul duit raya adalah dari ang pao...sbb dlm islam tiada istilah duit raya...seperti ceddy katakan...raya is religion, chinese new year is culture...org melayu islam mengambil dan mengeolah budaya memberi ang pao untk versi melayu punya...biasa la kita ngra majmuk...yg baik kita ambil..yg buruk kita jauh2 kan...

Salute to ceddy. I can tell every word he said come from his study and research...its all accurate. Also salute to brother at pasar who answer the question nicely.
Forgive sebab apa? sebab kita banyak buat salah silap towards other people or animal or trees, plants or whatever it is. Everyday after solat also pray doa forgiveness to god or doa for parents to stay safe or healthy or wealthy also for ourself. As forgiveness during raya is much easier because all people gathered. As we all know people are busy. hardly seen around. When can meet? Islam teach to be humble be patience, live moderately, be grateful of life always remember there is other people out there is unfortunate, handicap, no money, no food, having hardship in life. It's all god test for us in this world but we always forget. That's why there is Ramadhan to remind us all again.
