I'd say 6 months are really just to get a proficient use of sql, like just the bare minimum. To get really good at it you'd need years more or less, depending on what kind of expertise the people working with have.
I have spent the last 5.5 years working with sql server (among others) and I had never heard of some of the window functions he pointed out. Even the lag function I discovered very recently. It really will depend on the kind of challenges you get in the workplace.
Once you get to a certain point, you start to get geniunelly interested in optimization, and a lot of times it won't get done in the query itself but in putting in place the right indexes on the right tables and columns. :)

Hey I found your channel recently, and it's really really helpful. I am a beginner in the Data field and trying to find any useful resource for SQL if you can recommend. I have completed Coursera courses and some RUclips tutorials as well but still can't find the grip or the right pathway for SQL, if you can recommend me any useful resource that would be a great favor.
Also one thing to mention, I have no previous experience of Core CS subjects( DBMS, structures and algorithms etc) but I have programming language experience
