To help (it’s obvi in the vid, but): I used the printed pattern instead of the video and naturally began working the skirt with the yoke facing away from me. That meant the back of my work would face the front of my dress. So I finished the current row (4), and started the next row with the yoke facing towards me. Now the front of my crochet’s show on the front of my dress. Happy crocheting!
I just completed this dress and it is FABULOUS! I love this dress! I did a solid yellow in Bernat soft and trimmed it in pale pink in the same type of yarn.
This is a cute little dress. I'm thinking of creating one with a skirt flare in between the regular one and the puffy one, perhaps a V-stitch in every stitch of the first V-stitch round instead of every other stitch.
Love love love this. I haven't been doing crochet long (7 weeks) and iv just made this for my baby girl. And it looks fabulous 😀 so easy to follow. Thank you.

Mikey the dress that you made doesn’t pleat like the dress you showed us at the beginning. You said that you change that one row so that the dress will flare out and have a pleated affect. It’s a beautiful dress and I can’t wait to make one
Thanks for this video! I’ve completed my little dress & it’s adorable 🥰 Please I need some help on the next one. The 1st row of the skirt says to “turn before beginning skirt” on sizes 6 & 24 months BUT if I do that the skirt is on the wrong side! I did this on my 1st one & had to turn the entire dress inside out before doing the edging to make it right. It appears that the sizes that end in even rows have this. This reversal also caused the back closure to be on the opposite side. I watched your video many times & it looks like you did not turn here so on my 2nd dress I’m doing as you’ve demonstrated. Confusing. Maybe it doesn’t matter? Also I did follow the pattern on the edging & it’s different than your method but I think it turned out better because the petals/leaves are more defined by the pattern method. I’d like to send you a photo but don’t know where to post it. Thanks again! 🧶❤️
I wanted to let you know I done the little sweetie dress, I'm so Pleased with it, I am wanting to make these for my granddaughters, But I have two older girls ages 5 and 7 plus a grandson who is 7 too. Can you do a video for older children. wanting to make christmas outfits.
With the yarn im using the V stitch used it ruffles my dress way to much after 2 rows I switched to granny clusters with the 3 stitches it fans it out nicer I am using thicker yarn tho making this for a baby due on Christmas but its not 6 month sized it would fit like a 3 year old LOL gonna maybe add butterfly wings on the skirt for added sweetness too :)
Love your Videos!!! If I change the hook size and or yarn size would this be smaller? I need a preemie size. What size of hook and yard do you believe would work for this dress in a preemie size? Thanks so much.
Hi Mikey, the dress I've making is looking fab, although I was a little confused, as the pattern indicated a slip on the edging round 2 which you omitted from this tutorial. Mine looks fine with the slip stitches and also the 2 chain picot 😉😊
7 yrs ago I made on for my granddaughter and it came out perfect! Now I'm making one for my great niece - and the skirt is like 3x the size (fullness). I think I did something wrong. Any suggestions- will it still work? Wish I could post a pic on here.
