The hot iron incident is taken from a real bullying case in South Korea. The series is fictional, but some of the bullying incidents are taken from real cases.
There were also speculations that the revenge part was also based on a real life revenge plot that happened in Japan in the 90s. The man who was bullied chose a career path just so that he could carry out his revenge.

for context weather forcaster is a very respected job in s.korea. its also very difficult to be one without proper connections.
Yeah money and power is already enough to get away with things, but in South Korea, it is honestly disgusting how differently poor people get treated compared to rich people. This show defiently gets into that, and most of the bullying is based off of a true case that's even more saddening and sick.
Alchemy Of Souls is a definite! 30 episodes in total, it has the whole package of Fantasy, Comedy, Action, Romance!
My definition of the perfect Kdrama!

alice in borderland is a japanese show! I’d also like to recommend “moving” :)
Most of the bullying is based of off real life cases of Korean cases, which is so horribly sad 😞. Also, is not only the factor of money and power but also the fact that the law doesn’t prosecute minors the same way that is in other places. I think there have been some changes to that in Korean law but kids/teens think they can get away with anything because they are over the law.

For anyone who starts this show, if you can make it through the trauma of the pilot episode, you owe it to yourself to watch the entire series.
