  • This race was a lot of fun! It is a part of the Canadian National Enduro series in Chilliwack B.C. at Vedder mountain.
    It is 5 stages with about 1900m of climbing throughout the day so it's more climbing then I have ever done! Me and BC POV face off and have a great time today! Yes this is a long video, but I hope you enjoy it!

      The bike held up well, and seemed to perform great. I don't think it's right to blame Evolve. If you're talking about the seat and dropper, that's nothing to do with Evolve. Those are OEM parts bolted onto the bike, and that would have happened with any other bike frame manufacturer. If you're talking about the headset...when you tweak the bars like that, and everything spins, it's very common for it to loosen the headset a little as the preload loses tension.
      No clue what happened with the seat, but he likely sheared one of the retaining bolts, and that led to the issue. It's not much different than if he had gotten a flat tire, and blaming Evolve. Those aren't Evolve parts.

    • @oldmanbucksaw
      @oldmanbucksaw 5 лет назад +14

      @@0815236 or clean, thread prep, and torque to spec as the manufacturers recommend. There is nothing worse than some plugger coming into the shop with cracked parts and stripped bolts crying about how their saddle, stem, seatpost, crank or headset is garbage when the problem is them over torquing bolts. Get a cheap torque wrench kids and save money in the long run.

    Your perseverance during this race is inspiring, and I think you've got a real shot at the RUclips race, but don't sleep on Josh!
    If you're looking for endurance, hit a spin class. Sounds weird, but it's so true. I grind out 15-20 miles of pavement a day all summer long, and last fall a friend invited me to her spin class and I got absolutely owned by the entire class. Spin class is now part of my training regimen.

  • @HeretiCflow
    @HeretiCflow 5 лет назад +4

    So glad you figured the electrolyte thing out eventually. That and carbs is what keeps your main CPU aka. your brain running quick! What happened on stage 4 is when it's running slow. You process information slower, your reaction time goes up and silly mistakes happen. You need to fuel up frequently, especially on a race.

    I don't race but I used to have the same problem with hills, I'd get all tense and scared, my diaphragm would tighten unnecessarily, I'd shift into too low of a gear and stiffen my whole body, wasting energy and messing up my lines. The only thing that cured me of it was spin classes which made me realize hills were nothing more than something requiring more effort from my legs. Spin taught me to stay in the moment, thinking only of the immediate effort required instead of how fucking hard this hill was. It totally calmed me down. I'd done much harder stuff in spin and never tensed up, simply stayed in the groove.

    Slipped on a wet log in a corner in my first section (100m) on the first lap of an enduro race, broke my bag strap and bent my handlebars, waste of a whole trip tbh, but had a lot of fun just completing the race knowing I was going to come last
