- In this video I'm going to show you the true versatility of the Masterbuilt Gravity Fed Series 1050 Smoker by smoking then reverse searing a tri-tip! This is also kind of a slighty updated review on the smoker as I'll go over some key points about it. Check us out online at www.MADMOOSEBBQ.com !
As soon as you said artichokes, I knew you had to be from CA. Trying this out tonight. We recently bought this grill and are excited to try the tri tip. Ribeyes have been great so far, but I'm excited to hopefully get that true Santa Maria Style tri tip!
I have had my 1050 for 2 years and have had to replace the controller and all the wiring harnesses. Masterbuilt has provided the materials as warranty, but it has been disappointing and tedious to do the replacement work.
Excellent work! Thanks man - very informative and straight forward
Thank you!
I'm not even kind of hungry, and this video made me hungry. Nice cook, and thanks for sharing.
Thanks patrick!
Thanks, excellent video that I'll be using today. Happy Holiday's, Merry Christmas
Awesome! Could you now tell me what you did with the artichokes I’m dying to know.
Haha sure, I basically just roasted them and then cut them in half and drizzled with olive oil then seared off!
I'm curious about the grease that'll drip off while doing a sear... I've seen other vids where there's actual flames coming out of the heat manifold at the bottom, and am curious if there is more of a fire hazard with how it's setup?
Think of it like a propane grill, you'll get the same flare up type situation but its manageable
How long did it take all of this take? Making my first smoker run tomorrow
What wood did you add to the charcoal
I used pecan chunks
I see you have a rec tec. How does the 1050 compare? build, flavor, convenience, price. Could be a good comparison video?
lmao. just saw your other vid...
Lol ok cool
Made me hungry. Thanks for the video. I'm thinking of getting one. When taking the temp of the meat, did you use the built in temp probe or a regular meat thermometer?
I used a instant read thermometer from thermoworks
Is there a reason for using the reverse sear? I am used to a gas grill (1050 being delivered as we speak) with a gas grill I set the meat down at 600 degrees, sear, and then reduce the temp to 325. Is there a reason I shouldn't do this with the 1050? Thanks. Good video!
Your only thumb down came from someone who misread your Shirt. 😂
Easy instructions, thank you Sir !!!🇺🇸
Haha haters gon hate !
Who are some people lol?!
Looks gr8t but I'd like mine a wee bit more cooked. Like the name < like to get back in hunting, moose were my fav. big game to hunt >. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing eh :))

Your welcome. Not sure what you mean by " absolutely teach their own,"@@madmoosebbq6316
@@cypressblue8877 I was reffering to the doneness of the meat!

Whoever butchered that up didn't care at all about that fat and charged you by the pound for it.
Often times around here you can buy it trimmed or not. Trimmed is always more expensive so I probably bought untrimmed.
I was watching this and thinking of subscribing until I saw that shirt.
my make america GRILL again shirt offended you?
@@madmoosebbq6316 Yeah enough to go from about to subscribe to not subscribing. There's thousands of grilling channels out there and I'll focus on the ones without those letters on their shirts.
