I can relate with Li Na. My husband wasn't violent or verbally abusive, but he shirked all kinds of responsibilities. As a result though my daughter did not hate him, she didn't want to be saddled with the responsibility of looking after him. Thankfully, he passed away when he was just 61, so that situation never arose. She stays with me and she looks after me.

Absolutely excellent point. Atorney Lou Bin is indeed helpless amidst family members! His sister is head strong, his brother in law is a bit too emotional, so, smart secretary Li Na stepped in. Her clever quiet arrangement helped daughter and father got reunited. And the daughter exercised her right to take father in because she does love her father! And now it is Li Na who is facing a family situation. I need to continue watching. This series has hooked me in! After discovering C Drama “ Sunshine of my Life, with Zhang Han and LuXu ( or XuLu) i am loving this Kukan series of this Law Firm. LouBin is sure handsome, suave, cool, elegant, and sporty, can play tennis, box, and ride motorcycle. He is eloquence in speech and movement! And i love the character of LiNa, i am hoping LouBin will fall for her. But I don’t think so…he is waiting for someone else! I like that at Episode 11, there is no heavy romance (although i do love Zhang Han romantic roles) going on already!
Assistant DaiXi is most interesting, a great supporting actor. Cooky, fast, nerdy but very smart! He Sai is a whole different lawyer- a real nutty character! I love the many female characters and female lawyers in the series! Whether it presents current Chinese society or mostly fictional, the many newer Chinese dramas ( if well made) show the great leap forward of modern Chinese society, social mobility of the middle class, a hint of governmental influence on script ( my personal suspicious interpretation ) to emphasize certain traditional ethical values in terms of regards of the elders; Lou Bin and Assistant’s regards for justice and fairness instead of following the tendencies towards prioritizing monetary benefits for the Company, favoring clients with big bucks etc.
Jayeo to Chinese movie producers, from script writers, to actors and directors. I am a new fan enjoying these Chinese TV series from the US. A Chinese American woman homesick for her roots, trying to understand and learn more advance Chinese language with the help of the subtitles. Thank you❤️❤️❤️
