This is truly like sitting down to Sunday dinner after church. Only, in this case, you get to sit with a new family each time you go there. I highly recommend eating there as I do whenever I’m in Sweetwater. Truly a treat!
God bless the Allen's family(in sweetwater Texas). Absolutely perfect.
I'm surprised this place is still open I used to love this place when I lived there in the late eighties early nineties. My middle and high school days there.
I never thought of going to Texas until I saw Allen's family restaurant.we used to go to a place like that in Clearwater FL.
Never thought? Texas is #1
@@cd1168 #1? Nah
I’m from south Louisiana. Did some work in Sweetwater for 5 months. Ate here a few times. Always great food!!
The part where the owner says that sometimes someone says i ain’t siting next to him to eat , then he reply’s well then eat some where else then .... now that’s a man of GOD ... he sees everyone equal
I think you missed a few comas here and there amigo!
I picked up on that too, sounds like a stand up family ♥️.
sal cortez
You don't have to be "a man of God" to treat everyone equal. We aetheists are perfectly capable of that too...

Spoken like a true Christian Charlie. My God.... You're the one's that give Christians a bad name. Love thy brother, unless they don't hold your faith. Get a life.
So glad it is still there
Looking Like A Mormon Sunday Dinner With Plenty Of Good Food 😋
I've been there a few times the food and atmosphere are the best.
The food looks delicious but howwwww cute is that cowboy with the white hat ❤;) lol
There used to be a a place just like this in Jacksonville FL. Awesome food
Miss those places......had. a place in Pasadena Tx ...Lesures.....family style
We had a place here in SW Pa called the Mansion House that was like Allens. Good people , good food, great company and memories.
My brother lives in Sweetwater and my sister goes there all the time and ALWAYS eats at Allen's. I never thought it looked like anything special from the outside. She's tried multiple times to bring me to try out the food and have the experience, but I cannot bring myself to break bread with complete strangers, especially strangers from a place like Sweetwater. Maybe when I'm older
You sound like a real asshole! Bet strangers wouldn't want to eat next to you. Thirty years from now, when you are 'older', you will just be an older asshole.
Sweetwater has some of the best and friendly people you will ever meet.
Being an Allen, I can guarantee that children is good.
There was a allen tavern in NH in 1800 it said one of allens went to tx was famous in war wonder if any one heard of this
oh i wish there's a place like this in New York. The only problem, there might be a problem during the meal :)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good people.
The next time we are passing through Sweetwater we are looking for this location.
I live here. It's on broadway
Yep Broadway st. I used to cruise Broadway back in my teenage years 1987-92
I drive through sweet water often when I visit family in Big Spring. Is this place brown friendly though?
Yessss it is n I'm black n I live here n eat there!!
Good thing about West Texas is its all about how you carry and present yourself.
Brown-friendly? YOU truly are a racist asswipe! Everything you see and do has to be through the color lense. STOP playing the role of a snowflake victim you idiot! I'm BROWN and I would NEVER utter such stupid remark. Pure nonsense.
I think this is a great concept. In any part of the world but especially north america, were all trapped in our own little bubbles and dont associate with other people. And btw i just farted
Wondering if this business is still in business at all during this covid-19 time?
Yes it is...I live n Sweetwater
I’m from Sweetwater and I can say yes. It’s still up and running, it’s a good place and good people.
I was in Sweetwater last month and yes, they are still in business. My sister tells me that they go there after church sometimes.
👍

All part of God’s plan I’m sure.
I feel like this is a white only establishment lol
Not just for whites just the part of west Texas, everyone's welcome.
No I'm black n live n Sweetwater n eat at Allen's!!
I’ve been in there with a Mexican guy I worked with and he was treated like everyone else. Stop playing the stereotype BS.
Sweetwater's population is about 1/3 Hispanic.
I'm Midland TX is pretty close to Sweetwater and there's a lot of Hispanics and inmigrats on this town. I haven't experienced rasism myself ever in this towns and I'm an inmigrant myself
