He used a zinc coated steel threaded bolt and a copper pipe. He then used salt, sugar and crushed up charcoal from burned wood. He does show what he used in a word right before he uses it but it goes away quickly. Watch it again and the words are there. It will last until the metals are dissolved and then you make another one. It should last quite a while continuously .I hope this helps.
Looks like a homemade battery. You can save yourself the trouble of making one by just buying a car battery, and connecting to it 2 copper grips wired to a bulb with socket.

You produced electricity , yes, but ,not at 240volts at all! You used a DC light bulb of 3 watts and 12v or even 6volts. An electrochemical cell can never produce an alternating current and voltage without an alternator ,induction coil or inverter circuit!
I guess you don't realize that those are an LED based light they only work on direct current. But if you apply direct current to it it will work. If you apply AC the circuit inside converts it to DC..

minute 8:42....esprit du sel 22 degrees....it seemed to google up to sea salt or grey sea salt.... but i didn't see a liquid version available....at minute 7:33 he put in some regular salt(assuming regular salt)....someone wrote in the comments that he put in sugar and hydrocloric acid but it's not there...another guy said salt and sugar...one guy mentions 158 dc volts and ac bulb? don't know how a 110 volt a/c bulb would work or not...i know they have 12 volt bulbs for campers...but what would happen if you put 158 volts to it....also i'm not an electrician but what about amps?...that your "pressure"?lots of questions and good comments

It is not possible to recharge because it is what is called a galvanic cell. It uses the metals as a "fuel"
