      Hi Jim,
Yes! And when he came back at supper time with Missy he wanted more cake. So there must be something to be said for that! Even his significant other seemed to enjoy it. I think I'll save this recipe and not try to do much change on it. I've got a winner on my hands apparently. I thought it was good but then I'll think anything edible is good. 😁

@@roncalverley "... but then I'll think anything edible is good." I'm in your camp Ron!
That's a good testimonial on the cake. I thought it was going to fall in the category as snow tires. Perhaps you should start a Christmas mail-order on TV. JimE

Hi Ron, what are you going to use for securing the clear pieces. Best options I’ve found are a glue called bond weld which is a white glue that dries crystal clear or humbrol clearfix. Danger with CA or regular glue is visibility when dry and the pieces you’re doing will be quite large.

      Hi Mark,
Is this it? Perhaps I should order it! Thanks for the tip!

@ hi Ron, yep, that’s it, also brilliant at securing phot etch to plastic, ie fencing, you can’t see it once it’s dry and it a very firm join.

Hi Ron, that glue Mark is talking about is a gem 💎, was a bit worried that you would use extra thin ! Was also thinking maybe tape up that clear part with a large oval piece of tape to create a window rather than it being all clear, then you could use normal glue, did that make sense 😊😊😊😊 we’d like a piece of cake to , even have custard in the fridge 😀😀😀😀see you tomorrow

      Hi Marc,
I just ordered it! It'll be here on the 24th all being well. Hope it can stand up to being frozen because if I don't see the Amazon guy when he comes it's gonna be sitting outside for who knows how long. Anyway we'll take a chance and see what happens. I'll test it as soon as I've got it and see how it compares to the white glue that I have here now.
As for the cake! I was thinking of mailing you some but what with the unreliable Canada post lately, maybe that's not such a good idea. Besides they could probably smell it through the package and eat it --- and that would be the end of that. 😁

Yes! Remember it well, but the beer jingle I recall the most is from the 50's -- 🎵"from the land of sky-blue waters"🎵 ruclips.net/video/o83xxWCel8g/видео.html 😁

@roncalverley Wow! I definitely remember the Hamm's slogan, but, unfortunately, the 1950s were a bit before my time (born in 1962) so, I don't think that I have seen the commercial Thanks for the link... I do enjoy seeing the classic vids! 👍🙂

Hi Ron, just thought it would be good to submit a little bit of Periscope info for you - on a previous episode you showed a photograph of an officer sitting at a periscope - that one is known as the 'search periscope' and is binocular. The other one is known as the 'attack periscope' and is monocular. Also,. that one is not motorised as such - you will have seen footage of the Captain swinging the attack 'scope, calculating the range and bearing of the potential Target. Incidentally, the search periscope can also be used for photography!
Hope this is of some interest to you.
    Regards,
    Ray (Northumberland UK)
