agreed, altough unlike its successor, this one is unique amongst the star destroyers model due to its landing gear that could land in planet atmopshere which is what the other model can't do.
Actually just cool artwork no practical sense at all. The tactical design is for two dimensional battles like a ship on the ocean on a flat surface. In space the tactics are three dimensional. Spock explains this best in star trek 2. One galaxy class ship from star trek would destroy the entire fleet and the death star without breaking a sweat. Looks cool though
Imagine working for the Empire, being a crewman on some run-of-the-mill Star Destroyer that spent 99% of it's time travelling and patrolling, hardly ever seeing battle, mostly alone in space only to jump to hyperdrive to answer distress calls that were so rare. You land on planets or moons from time to time as a show of force to any uprising where the vast majority of the time they go down without incident. You get excited when fleets assemble but most enemies are so week and each conflict is about 1 minute of battle and one week of logistics, repairs, and paperwork. You have some friends and you go to the pub at the end of shifts. You've never seen Darth Vader or the Emporer. You've never seen a Jedi and don't think you even believe in the force. You've never been to Tatooine and never care to. You don't really pay much attention to politics or why you're fighting the "rebels", you just follow orders because you have a family thousands of light years away you have to feed. You've been to the Death Star once but the interior felt the same cold gray as your Destroyer, plus working their would have sucked because the hierarchy is much longer and you're quality of life is much better here. Life in space got stale and you really just would like to see a tree for once. You're tired of the same engine noises. You wonder why the Storm troopers carry their guns everywhere when there is no sign of life for million of clicks in every direction and there's no reason in hell why rebels would try your ship with nothing to gain. So you game, you got some Twilek porn, you "hijack" a broke down tie fighter in the bay and pretend to fly it, and you just mosey along in your giant tin can in utter cold darkness with retirement a long time from now in a galaxy far far away.

He said that the worst thing about living under a dictatorship simply how boring and monotonous it is. Grey everything, same routine, never been outside of London (a nightmare itself), and the occasional sounds of bombings in the distance.

We have it here folks Something quite often forgotten is that the acclamator was the planetary invasion ship, the venator was the orbital assault ship Lotta people boasting about its superior troop holding capacity when that’s its only purpose opposed to the venator’s impressive star fighter catalogue
Acclamator was meant for troops first and foremost, but they ended up having to be used in other roles that they weren't designed for. The Republic spent most of the war playing catch-up in space. At the start, the Venators weren't even in full service yet, so the Acclamators had to take the brunt of the fighting. And even then, the Venator was supposed to be used more as a support vessel and carrier than a proper battleship, which is what the Victory line was meant to do. But trying to keep things secret meant only smaller shipyards could be used before the war broke out, so by the time the massive yards at Kuat and Fondor began production of the Victory in large quantities, the war was half over, and so they saw limited deployment. The assault variants of the Acclamator came to be as a direct result of the hardships of the early war. The shipbuilders at Rothana, who spearheaded the pre-war clandestine production of the ships and vehicles of the GAR, knew the other warships were far behind. So they took a number of Acclamators that were nearing completion and refit them into the Flight I series of assault ships, to carry more turbolasers and much larger and more powerful forward torpedos, as well as additional shielding systems. They could still carry some troops into battle, but far less than the original model. One of these that we get to see is the Prosecutor from Republic Commando, which is how it can stand up to a pre-refit Luchrehulk as long as it could. As the war continued, a Flight II variant of the assault Acclamator was introduced that removed most of the remaining troop carrying capabilities in favor of replacing the older six-quad turbolasers with eight heavy dual turbolaser turrets, additional medium turbolaser emplacements, an unspecified number of laser batteries, and moving the fuel storage into the old vehicle bays for better survive-ability and adding room for extra torpedo launchers. Its huge boarding ramps were replaced with a hangar area for Torrent fighters as well. Of course, this info comes from production info from the devs that made the Empire at War series so, might not be fully accurate.

The main bridge appears to be a very vulnerable point on this ship, like the Venator class as well. It could be nearer the body of the vessel. That "neck" is a very easy target. Like Star Trek ships...
Acclamator's designers: "Let's make an assault ship that's incredibly effective and destined to be a favorite" Also Acclamator's designers: "lol put the fuel in the nose of the ship where it's most likely to get shot and blown up"
Honestly other than the rather exposed bridge section, this ship's specs would be just about perfect for the Mandalorian coverts to be using as mobile bases/transports... swap out the Republic/Imperial vehicles for the various Mandalorian equipment or other vehicles, and relocate/lower the bridge/command deck to a much more armored area? Probably could keep the pod and stuff up there, more like an observation/sensor system while the actual bridge is beneath some armored substructure?
I've always been under the impression that the ship's compartment stats is what the ship is able to carry at max, but rarely they do. And sometimes they will be a mix match. In The Clone Wars show, we rarely see 192 V-19, 36 ARC-170 etc on a Venator. Due to how widespread the war is, they have to divert resources to many different fronts. Of course, the real life boring answer is that they simply didn't have the resources and time since it cost a lot of money per episode. In the show, a lot of battles aren't really on a large scale, but felt more like smaller battles or skirmishes. For example, in that Ryloth invasion episode, Ahsoka led a squad of like what, 12 V-19's against a CIS blockade? Realistically, it should've been a bigger invasion force instead of 3 Venator ships that's seems to not even be at 50% capacity/strength.
Beautiful! the modeler in me is SO GREEN WHIT ENVY @ your skill. 2 small CC find a better HDRI and dont model screws the size of a house on the side of the Condenser Anielaton reactors it makes them feel really small. i really lick the way you have done the inhabited decks, looks really effective :)
Cool video but the carrying capacity listed is outrageous. (I know it comes from "official" sourcebooks, but those are written by authors that just make up numbers without actually trying to FIT that into realspace) For example as stated it can carry 66+14 LAATs when visually only, 26-30 are possible for the size of the holds. Keep in mind a Laat is the size of an At-TE (already 48 on board) and the hauler version is necessarily bigger than the AT-TE.
Wow, those "Inside " are incredibly well edited. Do you think you could make one about the AAT ? (The separatists'tank ine episode one) or maybe about CIS's capital ships ? Hope you'll continue this amazing job.
I've always thought that if an enterprising smuggler could get their hands on an Acclamator, they could potentially retrofit the hangar for huge amounts of bounty or illicit goods.
Hey I know you probably won't see this but is there a reason you didn't include the lower hangar that the ramps lead into? I've been looking everywhere and it's been hard to find anyone that has anything but snip-its of it from the clone wars show. You're video is amazing regardless but it'd be cool to see that if you ever revisit the acclamator!

Yeah. I have decided to add the inhabited decks/crew area and people to give it more depth.
Holy great!!
The workhorse of the GAR
Cool!
Weird that the thrusters were red instead of a light blue.
Just where could those SPHA-T's possibly been?
Cool video but the carrying capacity listed is outrageous. (I know it comes from "official" sourcebooks, but those are written by authors that just make up numbers without actually trying to FIT that into realspace) For example as stated it can carry 66+14 LAATs when visually only, 26-30 are possible for the size of the holds. Keep in mind a Laat is the size of an At-TE (already 48 on board) and the hauler version is necessarily bigger than the AT-TE.
I don't get why people hate one the looks of this ship.
no hablo bien ingles pero me gustan mucho tus video
Agradezco que se haya tomado el tiempo de ver mis videos, aunque están en inglés.
Wow, those "Inside " are incredibly well edited. Do you think you could make one about the AAT ? (The separatists'tank ine episode one) or maybe about CIS's capital ships ?
Hope you'll continue this amazing job.
i like the 3d, did you get the model of the ship somewhere or did you make it yourself?
I didn't model the exterior but I did model the interior (mostly with kitbash). Just google the 3D model, it's not that difficult to find.
Republic Commando made this ship feel WAY bigger than it really is
I've always thought that if an enterprising smuggler could get their hands on an Acclamator, they could potentially retrofit the hangar for huge amounts of bounty or illicit goods.
Could you make munificent class star frigate, please?
Hmm....🤔
Hey I know you probably won't see this but is there a reason you didn't include the lower hangar that the ramps lead into? I've been looking everywhere and it's been hard to find anyone that has anything but snip-its of it from the clone wars show. You're video is amazing regardless but it'd be cool to see that if you ever revisit the acclamator!
This was really due to the fact that the original schematic wasn't that detail, so I have to make some creative adjustment.
@@Halfscreen Ah yeah that makes sense. I mean it's unfortunate but you still did a great job with it as you have with all the others, keep it up!
