Ranking Every Car I Drove This Year!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 июн 2024
- I'm a car reviewer, and I drove 31 different cars in 2023! (That's shaping up to be a low number compared to 2024, thanks to a huge lineup for @carsandbids. Stay tuned for my next ranking!)
Cars I drove in 2023 include the: Rivian R1T, 991 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge, Toyota Tacoma, Lamborghini Urus, Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, RUF RT 12, Lamborghini Huracan STO, Kia EV6 GT, Aston Martin DB9, Nissan Z, Alfa Romeo Giulia, and so much more.
This ranking isn't strictly about the cars - it's also about the experiences I had with them, like taking the Giulia to the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, and whether they met or exceeded my expectations.
I hope you'll join me for the ride! Then like, subscribe, and tell me what you want to see in the future.

I was today years old when I learned Alanis has her own channel… I have fond childhood memories of Alanis driving to Six Flag in all of these cars
LMAO me too. Loved Six Flags
I’m really glad that “Can Alanis fit in this nook of a car” is a thing. Love to imagine what the person who drove by the Rivian thought 😂
I STILL wonder about that poor person
@@AlanisKing Probably either “I wish my life was as exciting and having as much fun as that person was having” or “Maybe I should have called the cops”
I frickin love Alanis! She's so cool and positive, and she's a car person which is also a plus lol!! New SUB
Omg! Thank you so much!
I'm so excited to see your future collaborations with Cars and Bids! I love your style of review. There's something warm and true-to-life about factoring in the weather and temperature of the review day into the evaluation of the car. It reminds us that cars are real machines that exist in the world around them, and not just 0-60 figures or styling.
This is such a thoughtful comment. I really appreciate that you like my style : ) Thank you for posting this, and thank you for watching my videos!
Would you ever do travel vlogs ?would really love to see them
I’m doing one today! Coming soon!
As an Aussie. Go Shane Van Cheeseburger. Great to see how far you have come on camera. Getting better every video.
Every video is now a must watch ✌️
PS: I hear boots guy was upset with this video 😂😂😂
GO SHANE!
Thank you so much : )
Alanis , its so nice that we can have our kids watch your videos without worry...thank you for being family friendly
Of course! Thank you!
Its great to see "beyond the numbers" and have weather, destination, etc affect the rankings. Very glad to see Ruf and other Porsches there on the list! Miss your F1 shenanigans!
Aw! Thank you. Glad you liked it. I’ll do plenty of F1 shenanigans soon : )
@@AlanisKing thoughts on Guenther?
Love your videos! Glad to know there are more of them coming this year!
Tons. Thank you so much!
I was somehow unaware Alanis had her own channel. Damn RUclips algorithms didn't do it's thing until today. Watched several videos and subscribed of course. Love the enthusiasm!
Thank you SO much. It means the world
I remember some of those videos, especially the Giulia trip you guys did to/from Vegas.
It was soooooooo fun. Thank you for watching!
You're the best Alanis
No one has ever made me more interested in cars than you have!
Wow! Thank you so much
I can't believe you got so unlucky with the weather, especially on the days you had a quirky convertible to film!
The weather was ROUGH for me last year. I hope it’s better this year!
Loved this video and the experiences you shared. Living vicariously.
Thank you so much for watching
Great to see you uploading videos on your channel again!!! The first time i saw one of your collabs with Doug i ended up searching for your youtube channel however i was disappointed that you haven't uploaded videos on here in years. Now that you're uploading videos regularly i'm looking forward to watching your content. Keep up the good work Alanis!
Omg! Thank you so much. We thought about uploading for years before we finally did it - it can be intimidating to think about doing all the filming and editing! But now we're in the routine of it and really enjoy it
Doug was very smart to choose you. I think you have the ability to pass him one day. Keep up the excellent work.
I appreciate this. Thank you so much for watching
Love your reviews, Alanis!
Greeting from Brazil!
Thank you so much! Hi!
You are right Alanis, the experience is just as important as the car, and how it makes you feel! I want to see more videos like this, hearing your thoughts about car related topics. Looking forward to more!
I’m so glad you enjoyed. I’ll try to do more!

Interesting, I did a 10-hour drive in a C8 from Jersey to Chicago and the seats were great for me! Definitely not my 1st recommendation for a road trip car. But I was surprised at how comfortable I was for most of the drive.
That is SO interesting. We were both hurting!
Thanks, Alanis! Your content is great!!
Thank you so much for watching!
I'm from the UK here, and I love Alanis! A breath of fresh air! I love your reviews on Cars and Bids! Yeah, Doug is the technical guy, but Alanis says other aspects, l like that too. I know a lot of the cars reviewed here won't make it to the UK, but hey, when you're having fun watching this channel, who cares!
This made me smile so much. Thank you for your support!
I had a new Sequoia TRD Pro for a weekend, and also described it as a bus to everyone. Really enjoyed your contributions on Cars & Bids in 2023, here's to another successful year!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it : )
Great video. Saw you first on Doug's channel and thought your viewpoints are great & funny.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate you watching!
I so enjoy your content...
Amazing video ✌
Thank you so much!
As a guy with wide hips, I felt that Elise review. Keep it up with the fun videos. 👍
I was sooooooo sad. Thank you!
Minus a few bumps in the road 😁, had to be an exhilarating year!!
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
It was so good. Thank you for watching!
I *finally* got around to watching all of this … and so totally worth it to see the Golf All Trac beat two fantastic Vettes, and a big beefy blue MANUAL V8 Caddy come in at #2!!
This definitely needs to be an annual tradition
Ah! Thank you so much! All great cars
Hey Alanis! I just discovered your channel and I subscribed right away. I live in Quebec and I have to say that you are very easy to understand for someone that English is not the first language. You have great credibility as an car expert and a little "je ne sais quoi" that makes your videos fun to watch. I wish you a great success with your channel.
This is so kind of you. I’m always so impressed when people know multiple languages - I’ve tried to learn! - so thank you for caring enough to watch my videos 🤠 have a wonderful day!
Just subscribed to your channel, and sorry I did not do it sooner. Have watched you on C&B's many times and always enjoyed your reviews. Look forward to more great content here and on C&B's.
Thank you SO much. I appreciate you watching anything at all!
Great video! I’m so jealous that you get to drive so many cool cars in the year, so cool!
I would’ve thought the RS7 would have been ranked higher considering your video on it, but happy to see a Golf wagon ranked so highly! We need to save wagons!!
I LOOOOOVED the RS7. Truly. There were just so many good ones last year, and MAN was that day a hot one. It was like 103 and humid outside
@@AlanisKing 😆 it would definitely be an ultimate daily…that or an RS6 Avant 🤩
Ive been missing DRS, insta sub
Omg thank you. I miss it so much too
Awesome video Alanis, I loved the rankings. “Drive Yourself Happy” on the door sills of the GT3RS is one of the coolest features I’ve ever seen. And you reenacting the start of the Le Mans race was pretty legit too. I like more content like your Miata differential replacement video. Also more with your husband, he seems to be as much of a car genius as you are. Despite him always hiding lol.
Thank you SO much. We’re doing more with the Miata as soon as we have time! We’re really excited for it. Thanks for watching and appreciating
@@AlanisKing can’t wait to see more content!

Hi :) i loved this video and i loved ur style or videos ever since doug took u in his team , sorry for my english but i m italian , anyways keep making more ! My fav car u reviewed was the ruf and i got the chance to drive many times a urus , and i completely agree with what u ve said :)
Your English is wonderful! Seriously! Thank you so much for watching. The Ruf was amazing, and I'm such a fan of the Urus!
I still think a incredible video is sitting there - take one of those insane side by sides they sell at WTV dealers, that are somehow 30-40k and then compare it to a base truck or one of the new light trucks. I bought land and need one for stuff out there and the prices of those things are insane. Despite the appreciation that the japanese small trucks seem to be getting now, they are still so much of a bargain compared to a john deere side by side or any of the other options. Ive not seen one person do a video on this and I imagine it would be super viral, especially cut up and put on tik tok or youtube shorts.
Good idea! I will see if I can source one. Thanks for caring!
Hi Alanis, I would be curious to hear how your own personal Miata stacks up in a list like that. Because I usually find myself looking forward to driving my own vehicles after driving someone else's, no matter how broken they might be at times. Yet the average person of course doesn't get to experience a lot of outstanding cars like you.
I really enjoy your videos, not only are you presenting the content very well but also your overall positivity really brightens up any day. Thank you and best wishes from the land of the autobahn!
This is such a good point - I always look forward to getting back into my own cars because they’re mine, and that’s actually why we left the Miata off the list. Too much bias!
I rank my cars very highly. Top 5 for sure. Thank you so much for watching!
First of all, you're my spirit animal. Second, here before you become the RUclips celebrity you deserve to be because your content and reviews are amazing.
Dude I feel that way about YOU and love all your posts all the time ❤️
Your best video yet. I enjoyed hearing your insights even though I don't particularly agree with your ranking.
This is so kind! Thank you. I def don't expect people to fully agree, since more than just the car factored in - the spreadsheet I used to plan this is literally called "Alanis' Big Arbitrary Car Ranking 2023," lol!
Thanks again. I appreciate it
That was good fun to watch! But now I’m sad, as we have to wait 365 days for the next Alanis car year review 😢. I understand your complaints, but seeing the Lotus so low on the list was difficult to watch. Thanks for sharing!
It was so hard for me too. It was really fun to drive, but just so uncomfortable to have my knees glued together and hips all squeezed in
Great video Alanis just askin for my semi annual request for a Pontiac Aztec review. One day my dream will come true… perchance
It WILL come true one day
Interesting that we had opposite Elise experiences! I drove a supercharged one and it re-arranged a lot of my automotive priorities! I'm a 6' guy, so getting in and out was a chore, but man was it worth it!
I actually find the body SHAPE to be the big determining factor: Many men who are bigger than me can fit in seats solely because their hips are smaller. Because my actual hip bones (and thighs) are wider, it’s less comfortable for me even if I’m smaller overall
That makes a lot of sense! I'd normally say that an aftermarket seat might fix that, but there isn't a crumb of spare space in there 😂
Right! It makes me so sad
Very cool
Thank you!
Not going to lie, your video of the Golf Alltrack made me regret selling my 2019 S manual. I bought that car new and it was my first manual. Taught myself how to drive stick on it.
I LOVED that car. Thank you so much for watching!
Have a speedy and safe ‘24 Lani!
Thank you so much!
Hi.... I think I follow you on the socials every where 😉👍 You and Doug do an awesome job... What is that red Mazda you are sitting in front of?
Thank you so much! That’s our 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata : )
@@AlanisKing we have a slightly modified 2016 MX5 😎🍺
I miss DRS
Please make your first episodes of your podcast 😊😊😊 please please
Also you are so lucky in a good way
I want to have your job so badly
I miss it so much too. We’re hard at work getting sponsorships! I hope to launch it soon!
I feel like the Lotus Elise needs a second chance with an aftermarket seat.
I could give it that. I was just soooooooo sad about the seat fit
You should get an award for recreating the famous FJ Cruiser blue porta potty photo with the Lexus TX.
Thank you
I just realized I actually watched all the videos posted by Alanis on C&B and on her channel… cool
That means a lot. Thank you so much
I drove a Mini JCW this year too! Surprised me how hard it pulls, the torque comes in so low and it just keeps going. Hated the ride, but next gen is supposedly coming out for 2025 model year and gets rid of the runflat tires so that might help! Modern Minis deserve more recognition, they got a bad rap because of reliability issues on R53/R56 but these new ones with the B48s are apparently indestructible. New one will have same engine with same hp but revised torque curve with peak at 1250rpm.... Sign me up!!
You are so right. I LOVED the JCW and was so happy to get to drive it
Where's the suggestion box to tell Cars and Bids they need to hire security so you can work without interference! Thanks for your reviews!
THANKFULLY incidents are rare, but they do happen once every couple of months! I bought some extra pepper spray just in case : ) Thank you!
love a good golf
ME TOO
Finally something interesting!
Hahaha I think the other videos are interesting!
I meant generally today on RUclips lol
OH HAHAHA I get it!@@laskos02
Love the nb miata
ME TOO
What sports car would you recommend for a 156cm tall guy? I was thinking about a lifted F350.😂 Guess a Miata might be a good fit? I could use the space behind the seat for luggage storage.
It really depends on your budget! Porsche 911 always has space, but on a more normal budget, hot hatch is the way to go
@@AlanisKing To much space is the problem. 156cm 5’1. Guess a Mini?
I remember that Kia.
I LOOOOOOVE Kias
Have you driven the GR86/2022+ BRZ yet?
Just the last gen, not this new one yet! I hope to drive it soon
That Z!
Beautiful!
Also on that Rivian R1T, I’m surprised regulators haven’t considered that an adult human (or even a child!) can fit in the cargo tunnel…shouldn’t it have an emergency escape switch then?! 🤔
It totally should, and I don't remember seeing one
Haven't seen it yet but I'm sure the Carnival will be at the top. Just looking to see who's at #2
I WISH I drove it last year. I asked, but Kia didn't have one in Texas!
@@AlanisKing Hopefully you'll get one this year, or the new Odyssey whenever Honda decides to go for it.
I really hope so!
This seems like a which experience was the best of the year and what car did i happen to be in. Interesting stories tho
Like I said, some of it was car and some of it was experience. Just a mix of what I liked and how the environment and car impacted things!
Need some Alanix x yugioh merch
I will call Konami
Great vid! Tuned in for more! 🚗🛻👀
Thank you SO much
Where would the Aston Martin Cygnet be on that list if you had driven one in 2023 🤪
SO close to the top
If you could drive ANY Euro forbidden fruit car (
Aston Martin Cygnet for sure!
23:23
Even if a car is objectively worse its about how the car makes you feel, i remember the dumbass trio of top gear reviewing the porsche paneamera, maserati quattro, and aston rapide, every single one of them knew and felt how much worse the maserati was objectively yet they all loved it the most because it looked easily the coolest, sounded the best, and inspired the most emotion even if it was less solid feeling and slower than the other cars
You're so right! I think the important thing is admitting when one car is objectively better than another and saying why you're swayed emotionally toward the other
So, the coolest part of a Tesla is it can fart? Yeah, that tracks.
It can definitely fart
Not one Lada.....
Maybe next year!
So 13 cars & bids out of 31?
I think 17! I was only at Cars & Bids for the back half of the year, and a couple were press cars
mam can i know your height?
5’8 and a half!
Kind of upsetting/disturbing that every time you're in a parking garage, you're getting stalked. ☹️
Bear spray at the very least.
I actually just ordered some a few days ago! I'm thrilled I did
Elise at 18 because you don't fit? I'm disappointed
I was being honest! It's extremely hard to drive a car when your knees are glued together
Also, you have to consider: It got ranked lower because I was so disappointed I didn't fit. It's been a dream car for me for years, and I really had to accept reality when I drove it
