    I'm with Lorraine Brown on that one. Thank you soooo VERY much Bella Coco for your tutorial(s) . ALL of them! They're awesome and you are a lovely Lady teacher.💐💐💐💐
    I actually crocheted few different flowers thanks to you and subscribed long ago, but that tension on a yarn was my nemesis which still creeps up when working with different yarns, but I'm doing much better then ever before🙂

    I love the tip about doing your foundation chain with a bigger hook and then going back to the smaller hook for the rest of your work. That's where I tend to be too tight and then it messes everything up. I'm new to crochet so this video was very helpful to me. Thanks!

    I LOVE your channel. I’m very new to crochet(about 2 months in) but your tutorials have gotten me very far so far. You’re a very very effective instructor! I love that you give UK and US stitch names because I’m in the US and would not have known the difference otherwise. And finally, you have a very lovely voice and way of presenting things. Thank you those tips are very useful to me and im thinking now i should make yarn cakes to make crochet a lot easier. As i am 12, i have small hands so i put the yarn only just inbetween my pointer finger and middle finger. Then i tighten my fingers a tiny bit... Its just easier for me. I also make real cakes so im sure yarn cakes would be easier :)

    How I chuckled when I saw this post come up. I have watched it quite a few times before, but still struggle at times. Tonight I've been working on the wavy border, but found that if I put my hook into the correct stitch as shown, then it all looks very gappy, but if I put each stitch into every dc stitch, although it is a lovey shape , my work starts to buckle.
    At loss at to whether to 'frog' and find another border or carry on knowing 'frustratingly' that what I am doing is wrong. :(

      +Bella Coco Hi, it's not a blanket as such but I have crocheted up a chair seat cover in linen stitch. I love the finish but I did do a DC edge but am wondering if I ought to do an sc followed by dc edge before trying the wavy edge again.
      Many thanks, I do appreciate your help.

    One thing I notice I do different to ever crochet video tutorial I watch is, I use my left hand that holds the wool to do all the work. It hold the wool and wraps the wool around the crochet hook, while my hook hand stays still. Apart from inserting and pulling through, my hook hand doesn't do much.

    I’ve just brought some cheap Dk wool, is this ok til I know what I’m doing, then buy decent stuff to try to make something??? Love you tutorials and there have really helped me, any help would be appreciated love Tracy x💜

      Thank you so much 😊 Acrylic DK yarn is absolutely fine, for starting out but also once you've had more practise 😊 You will see from my tutorials that I use a lot of premium acrylic brands such as Stylecraft Special DK and Paintbox Simply DK. You can move onto more premium yarns such as cotton or keep using acrylic.

    Hi Bella I am from Canada and was wondering if you could help me, my girlfriend in the UK sent me a beautiful book Iasabella Kessedjian and the terminology is in Uk I understand the differences but she is very confusing I don't know what she means by 1 ch,2dc in the 1st dc,1 dc in each next dc,4ch =16 I know it's not your pattern and I have written to this lady but she doesn't reply,I have tried to ask a few people and they won't help me either so I will understand if you can't but I am hoping you can. Thank you

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  4 года назад

      Hi Keitha 🙂 I have a conversion chart here: ecs.page.link/pKEWK which should help you. A UK double crochet is the same as a US single crochet, so what the pattern is asking you to do is begin by chaining 1, and then making two single crochet stitches in the first stitch directly underneath the chain you have just made. You would then need to make 1 single crochet in each of the next stitches and end by chaining 4 - you should end with a total of 16 stitches. Hope this helps 🙂

    I have 3 panels for a cardigan but the tension isn’t the same with the back and front panels. I’m assuming I need to redo the front panels to equal the back (or vice versa) but I’m worried I won’t get the tension the same. It’s all DC stitches but working in front and back loops. I’ve been crocheting nearly 5 years but mainly small things but I really want to make myself cardigans but I’m struggling to get the tension uniform.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Год назад

      I have a tutorial with some hints and tips for tension here: ruclips.net/video/SRVA_4uNsNw/видео.html but have you tried blocking all of your pieces? If you've used cotton or wool yarn you can wet block it by soaking it and then laying it flat, but for acrylic you will need to steam block. You can do this by pinning your pieces into shape and then using an iron to carefully blast steam at them (be careful to not let the iron actually touch the yarn or it will melt!). You should find that once you've blocked them to the correct measurements that they match up a lot better 😊

    I have quite the clutch grip on the yarn, but even tension. Gauge swatches, hook changes...I do what I need to get it proportionate. After that, it's about sizing. Always block! You'd be surprised how much that helps. Might look perfect, and then after calculating gauge POST blocking, you get a different result.
    Play with it, and do what doesn't make you too uncomfortable while doing it.

    Hello, I just started crocheting and I find it hard making my stitches even, when I'm doing double crochet, I have trouble looping the yarn through, it gets stuck in the middle yarn.

      It sounds as though you could be holding the yarn a little tight - tension is something that will get better the more you practise 😊 For now I would experiment with different hook sizes to see if a larger hook is easier for you. Aluminium hooks can also be smoother and easier to use than plastic hooks, for example.

    Sarah, I do love your tutorials. I am going to ask if you can do a tutorial for a cape that comes below your waist with armholes and a button at the top of the cape. I have searched everywhere and cannot find one. Many years ago I used to make one but alas the pattern is gone. I have a friend that wants me to make her one. I could sure use your help. I am not smart enough to make a pattern. Thank you so much. Please let me know if you will do it.

    This video was very helpful. Now I understand why my stitches are consistent. Thank you very much. Do you have a video on how to learn to count stitches?

    This was very helpful. I hate having to make multiply pieces like granny squares to attach cause me pieces almost never turn out the same size. I don't think I have an established tension so I will focus more on how I am holding my yarn. Thank you
