Thank you for addressing the good, the bad & the ugly. I had friends whose parents were pushy to the point of being embarrassing. It didn't take long for them to want to quit. Even if they really loved their horse & their horsey friends, they hated being forced to achieve the best results or be punished. I was the one whose parents weren't "horsey". They never attended a single show. I had to hitch a ride to shows for me & my horse. You were an exceptional child in my opinion. You understood things that most children wouldn't understand.
she is really inspiring because when i was 15 i fell off a horse and ever since then i haven’t rode a horse because that had made be feel less confident but when watch her videos it makes me so much more confident to get back on a horse.
Love this! I grew up almost identical to you, but over here in the US. I got the cheap ponies (forever great full) while others got super fancy, expensive horses. I put in the hard work, got the experience, and it was so rewarding to compete better on my "cheap, un registered ponies/horses" than the others that had grooms, trainers, etc.
i wasn’t a spoiled child but when i learned how to ride i got a good horse but we already him i just wasn’t able to ride him until i learned how to. but i learned at a really young age. i personally think starting on a cheap pony is much better then starting on a expensive horse. it helped me when i learned on a pony instead of a horse.
@@kaitlynbrown1850 yup! I had my cheap ponies starting at age 9. When I was 18 I had saved up enough to buy a very young, very green OTTB ($3500 to be exact) and trained him my self. It was the most rewarding thing I've done. He was my heart horse. We were able to show at high levels in the hunter events, and just loved him to death.
Absolutely love the podcast it's extremely inspirational to know that my biggest riding inspiration also has non horsey parents and to hear your journey, this probably some of my fav VIDS because it's just having a nice chat with a pal ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve done pony days before, as a kid and I loved it. We learnt how to muck out, groom, tack up and so on. I now do actual riding lessons and I’m doing well, rising trot is getting better. Apparently my sitting trot is very good as well, which is a bonus.
It's nice to know that you've gone through things that I have and many others have gone through,it makes you even more amazing talking about it aswell ❤❤
I just want to say that I am super grateful for everything Esme has done for us to inspire and motivate and make us as equestrians more confident in the equestrian community. God bless you, Esme😇
Hi esme❤ watching your videos has really helped me with my riding and learning from my mistakes ❤your videos are fantastic and u are an amazing rider ❤❤mickey Casper joey and duke are the sweetest ponies\horses❤❤
I love your videos and I was really looking forward to meeting you but I’m busy on the days you have meet and greets ( which I’m so bummed about). But I’m just happy I get to watch your videos because there amazing and I love that you show all your ups and downs and that makes me feel like that I’m not to bad at riding when I have a bad lesson. So thank you Esme!❤❤
This video really made me smile 😂your videos have helped me so much i remember watching how to tack up a horse from years ago that inspired me to start riding! :)
I love this video, I’m 22 and 4 horse riding lessons in and loving it and yes my thighs kill 😅 but you are the main and soul reason I’m learning to ride
Love the stories! I really feel you about the show thing - if a show was dragging on, or the weather was miserable, my mum used to talk to my horse and tell him to knock a pole so we didn't have to stay for the jump off 🤣🤣
This video really helped me. As being a 13 year old who just started riding, it really breaks my confidence seeing 6 year old jumping 50cm while I’m not even cantering yet 🫶 thank you so much for letting me know that I’m not alone
❤ watching your videos/vlogs such a great RUclipsr. Always lovely to watch interesting and educational. I have started volunteering on 2 Farms. Both have Donkeys. 1 has lots of horses and ponies. It was so relaxing, calming and therapeutic to be at the farm. Stay safe Esme and everyone else watching this video. 😊

Hi Esme, I can’t say enough about how awesome you, your videos and animals are! Also, as you asked, remember to put a window in Joey’s stable! Say hi to him for me! I love your channel! Also, even though this is an everyday thing for you, I saw Lemieux products in person for the first time this weekend! Going again today too! (I just did, they are amazing!) Can’t wait to watch the next video! x
I love hearing about ur riding story I guess I love how you tell us about the good stuff but also the bad and ugly things! I have grown up with not very horsy parents as well and even though I live in Colorado where we are surrounded by stables I haven’t been able to find a good stables something always goes wrong so I love hearing your experience and that I’m not the only equestrian who grew up with non-horsey parents!
I started riding when I was 21! I was never in a position to afford lesson but I’m incredibly grateful that my best friend has horses and has been teaching me for 2 years now
I saw you at Windsor today!! I didn’t say hello as I could tell you where very busy and i might be annoying, but it was the first time I’ve seen u irl😅x
I am exactly like you neither of my parents are horsey but I loan two horses but there’s no arena and they do the best they can to give me lessons and things I need ❤thank you so much esme for making me realise that I can be horsey even if my parents aren’t x

My parents aren’t horsey and I my dream is to have a half loan pony and my parents just don’t understand you know! But anyways I love u Esme and all ur ponies so much! And it so close to 1m! Keep going!!!!!
I started progressing my riding when I got to the barn I’m at now, the first year I owned my horse I honestly didn’t really progress nor did he, & I would not want to ride another lesson horse so I didn’t for a year. We found a new barn because that one got toxic & my trainer really didn’t get Oakley far. But hey, a year ago or two I started getting lessons from my trainer on lesson horses & had to start all over due to how my old lesson barn (not the one I was at with my horse) didn’t quite teach me right thing, & took awhile not to be sore after every ride. I finally got to riding my horse again when I was at a similar level as him, and I think he’s a bit faster with learning then me since he’s thrown me a few curb balls, aka I’ve fallen off twice this year, which I havnent really before. But I’m really happy where I am now with him, he’s so amazing and I love him
Hey Esme! those are some funny mistakes no one is perfect! I really look up at you ,you are amazing You are one of the reasons i started riding!❤ if you could say hi or comment on this comment it would be amazing I would cry anyway Byeeee❤
