    Amazing drawing of the little calf. I love the way the animal comes to life with each pass of the pastel. Fascinating to watch 😊

    So fun to watch! Interesting to me since I am about to try my first cow painting. I did the Unison 5 day with you…the little dog. I think it was your Mother’s dog. It’s one of my favorite paintings I have done and I have a picture of it as my phone lock screen picture. I really enjoyed that workshop!

      That's so wonderful to hear! I'm glad you enjoyed the workshop. Ruby the dog we painted is all grown up now but no more sensible!

    Yes you’re a lot of fun to watch but also I appreciate the expressiveness represented by the application of color theory. There are many reasons for pairing up those tones including the one because we love a light bluish lavender or ultraviolet blue that is light. It looks so painterly and lovely. I am also still plugging away in pastels and in other media and I love the best of all they give to us. Was great to see you work.😊😊

    Hullo Emma, This is a wonderful painting and I have used the Hahnemühle velour papers and you can get an assortment of different colors and have them add up to get your bulk pricing. This works at Blick's and Dakota Pastels here in the USA. Blicks has a special charge for "oversize" papers unless you order 10 pieces, so I order 10 or more when I shop there. I have had the best customer service at Dakota Pastels so they are my first stop when looking for pastel supplies.

      I also love Dakota pastels! I could live in that shop if I was closer. They are so helpful. That's where I normally get my big sheets of Pastelmat and Velour.

    I love cows especially highland calves they're so fluffy... Could you draw a st Bernard when you're just doing a fun video... A rough coat one... I have one and he's so popular with everyone he meets...😊

    I always feel so inspired after watching your videos. Do you sketch the outlines of your subjects with black pastel pencil?

    • @EmmaColbertArt
      @EmmaColbertArt  19 дней назад

      Thank you! Yes I use some black pastel pencil to finalise my outline before I start. You can see more about how I get my outline onto the paper here ruclips.net/video/eiDxsN9vxE0/видео.html

    • @hudsonrahman

      They look like Caran d' ache

      Emma uses Pitt pastel pencils a lot, but I only recognized a few the other pencils in use in this video, they look to be the Caran D'Ache pastel pencils with the extended painted ends. She has also uses CarbOThello, but I did not see any in this video.

    • @EmmaColbertArt
      @EmmaColbertArt  2 месяца назад +1

      I use a few Pitt pencils as I happen to have a lot of them. But I also like a Generals white chalk pencil (4414), a black Bruynzeel, and both a rose pink and lilac Caran d'Ache. So I'm not loyal to any one brand, just a mixture of colours I've found that I like.
