Limited horizontal resolution (SNES is mostly stuck in 256 pixels of width versus 320 for the Mega Drive) and lacks loopings or any other kinds of scenery with complex physics. This is far from Sonic :P
I own this game still along with my SNES and lots of other games, including Duck Dodgers. It was one of the best games I used to play in my childhood, when I was just a little baby. Good times.
i was born in 1991 i was so happy to find this vid i loved this game when i was growing up that and the game rage..and of COURSE DONKEY KONG..and tetris bahahaha
Aw yeah, this was my very first video game at 3 years old. :D Speedy is a favorite among my family, I played this all the time with my older brother! Good times
Aww man one of my favorite games for the SNES. truly an underrated classic. Sleepy Rock: I LOVE the music in this level, its just so fitting for a sleepy yet calm level. The level in itself is very easy one of my favorites. ....also yes i know someone hacked this into a bootleg sonic game for the SNES, which i also played...and it was not all that good. :/
I swear the gameplay on that game looks so very similar to the gameplay on the original Sega MegaDrive 2D platform game from 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog. ...it even surprises me that there was music from the title screen of Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles at the very start of the video. :D How many coincidences do we need? Speed Gonzales compared to Sonic the Hedgehog.........well i still think Sonic's cooler!
They're not loading screens. the game is on a cartridge, not a CD. And aside from that, those "loading screens" are the company splash screens, game intro, title screen, world map, and level intro.
Super Noah's Ark 3D is just Wolfenstein but with different sprites but the only thing Speedy Gonzales has thats the same as sonic is the speed acceleration not really a clone at all
@qlump1e I agree, mostly. However, there are a few games that still have challenge to them that they make today. Right now, not a lot comes to mind but the Kingdom Hearts franchise is what I first think of. Even their present day ones have bosses that are pains in the asses but, when you finally beat them, it's so satisfying. That's my experience anyway.
There is only an American version and I want this game to be released in a European version and one day I want this game to be released in a Japanese version. Speedy Gonzales Los Gatos Bandidos without having to pay for the copyright first, you will have to ask for authorization if you do it without authorization they will think it is piracy
@roblox184 Actually, not so- Speedy Gonzales first appeared in 1955, in the Looney Tunes short "Speedy Gonzales", which won an academy award that year. Sonic in comparison, first appeared in 1991.
Try BSNES next time. Best compatibility, best sound emulation, high-res gui, prepackaged cheat codes, and a savestate manager with modifiable descriptions.
Now that I see the video, they actually made custom music for the pirate. It's a shitty game, but that's an impressive effort for such a hack. The actual game actually looks pretty good, though.
This was my first game when I was a little kid. Man this brings back so much memories.
Same I’m 24 now I remembered this out of nowhere
brings back so many memories from when i was like 5 years old playing this :D
Esto fue mi infancia! xD
Kyc
Este es un señor juego
I guess if you're going to convert an SNES game into a sonic game, this one makes as much sense as any.
They did. Check out YuriOfWind's video on a Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Bootleg.

Haters will Hate, if you dont like the game foff, this game is awesome bring back good memories.. I wish this was on xbox 360 arcade

I played this game and still haven't manage to finish it when i was young!
My favorite SNES game when I was young. The part at 2:24 always made me think of those long john donuts.
I miss playing this game. Gave it away years ago. :(

I agree this game does look and feel like another Sonic game.
because he is a speed runner.....like sonic
Wow... I'm guessing there were a lot of Sonic cartridges lying around that development team's office.
I loved this game as a kid but I don't think I ever beat it.
Looks like the word "Amigos" is very popular in most games. There's one in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars SNES.
Miss this game ^^
Que nostalgia🙁mi juego favorito de infancia
I only have one thing to say:
SONEEK SONEEK!
this was back when games were actually difficult, and I miss those times. Now it's a few flicks of the wrist and you're done with the game.
I miss this game :((
It's like on of those generic platformers you (used to) find in cereal box CD roms
this game is tha shit i love the song for the first levels
I swear the gameplay on that game looks so very similar to the gameplay on the original Sega MegaDrive 2D platform game from 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog.

Game Fucking Rocked. Am I the only one who though the brown platforms looked like Long John Donuts?
SAWNEEK SAWNEEK
This is how the "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" SNES hack was developed.
Just realized that speedy was a Mexican version of Sonic with a bit of Mario...
oh my god! they say GRACIAS! LOL
NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD!
I
i dont see anything wrong with the game,, well speedy gonzales is speedy so sonic references is gonna be obvious. i like it. pricey game on pal format
Este era el que jugaba de niña qué bonito era jugarlo❤
Did u guy notice that the only times wen speedy faced the screen are wen he's running fast, kicking, dying, pushing a wall, or standing still
@roblox184
Actually, not so- Speedy Gonzales first appeared in 1955, in the Looney Tunes short "Speedy Gonzales", which won an academy award that year. Sonic in comparison, first appeared in 1991.
Sonic 4 SNES
Sonic Mania's the real Sonic 4 though. (I consider Episode 1 and 2 spinoffs)
Can’t believe sonic stole from this 🤧
He is runin like sonic
THE MEMORIES! T-T
@DragonfireEX402 It was not a rip off. It was a hack. The games are Identical with the exception of the Characters.
MAREO, MAREO!
The one where you get the stolen coin from the crocodile with Mallow.
this was the best game, next to mario
Those falling platforms look really irritating! "Gracias."
Mi infanciaaa
It is the second part of Surely Wood, I can not leave
your doing a lot of that sonic 1 sonic 2 sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles for the end and the beginning of the video.
Try BSNES next time. Best compatibility, best sound emulation, high-res gui, prepackaged cheat codes, and a savestate manager with modifiable descriptions.

Oh yeah I remember now!
Now that I see the video, they actually made custom music for the pirate. It's a shitty game, but that's an impressive effort for such a hack.
The actual game actually looks pretty good, though.
if you don't mind, could you send me the link where you downloaded this?
Yep. That's the one.
@DragonfireEX402 no, Speedy Gonzales ripped him of
But I Still Like This Game
The Knock Off was based off of this.
I HAD THIS GAME
You're Welcome.
Dude, I got this tape for the super nintendo, but a part of the game, after the Sleep Rock, I can not pass this part..can you help me?
I know. I was trying to turn back to get him but the end of the level sucked me right in. lol
I know! It's was a silly mistake as I took one step too far at the end.
Ffffffffffuuuuuu... I remember this
@DragonfireEX402 yup sonic 4 (snes) is a hack of this
