  • The FCC just killed net neutrality. In a 3-2 vote today, the Federal Communications Commission approved a measure to remove the tough net neutrality rules it put in place just two years ago. Those rules prevented internet providers from blocking and throttling traffic and offering paid fast lanes. They also classified internet providers as Title II common carriers in order to give the measure strong legal backing. Subscribe: goo.gl/G5RXGs

Freedom is not free, ideals must be fought for by those willing to sacrifice! People must speak with firm resolve and be willing to force changes to injustice or simply live with those atrocities and muddle on! In a country where exit polls are always wrong? Where news outlets are monopolies controlled by a few wealthy. Freedom will never be free, it’s a hard choice in a harsh reality!

Wrongo, what you're referring to is the final upgrade to net neutrality, the origin of net neutrality is actually 1990 though there has been so many legal battles for throttling cases (the most notable is nation wide p2p throttling by verizon) that culminate in the final 2015 net neutrality act.
but the rules has been long before.

I am an American too. Net neutrality regulations were pointless. It is good that they were eliminated. Corporations like Apple, Google, Amazon, and Facebook do have lots of power. The big ISP vendors like AT&T, CenturyLink, Digital West, etc have far, far less power and profits then those guys.

Pizza Pie Actually, you've no idea what you're talking about. The fundamental ideas of net neutrality have been around since the internet started. The original net neutrality rules didn’t come out of nowhere. In fact, there were several rather important things that happened before they were put in place.
Perhaps the biggest issue happened in 2014 when Level 3, a telecommunications company that helps ISPs connect to the Internet, found major ISPs throttling internet speeds on services like Netflix.
In 2012, AT&T blocked users on its lower tier services from using Apple’s FaceTime video chat feature, a move that caused huge public outcry.
When Google announced its Wallet app, mobile providers tried to block it for competing with their own solutions.
AT&T tried blocking Skype to cut down on competition with its own services,
Or, look to the parts of the world. KPN, a telecom company in the Netherlands, tried to apply an extra tariff on messaging apps force people into buying texting plans that worked on the cellular network. The move was blocked by the government.

let us see how this all works.
capitalism is when somebody comes into the marketplace and buys up and or controls through force and fear a section of the market it's routing to Market and it's control of the product that is brought to the market. and it illegal resource case in point IRS, is used to support a growing hierarchy of law yarders turn party political and the buzzword being drinking banging women just tearing it up he'll back in the past they had duels in the morning and everything.
and a republic is sending a massive amount of people into indentured servitude some for their lifetime and others for a Time to run over the top of the indigenous and Aboriginal peoples of said resource lands.
a better way to think about a republic is to realize it is a tool to tear out the save age Stone Age people and replace with a well-groomed army of citizens allowed to kill at will any and all said original population.
and a democracy require slaves to support the studying and debating aristocrats while they enjoy the fruits and the slaves enjoy the leavings.

luka stojanovic , Wait. How did Trump appoint Ajit to be a staff member at Verizon? Trump never owned Verizon... Trump never appointed Ajit for anything. Last time I checked, you aren’t “appointed” a Verizon staff member. You have to work for those kinds of things. Obama appointed Ajit as the chairman of the FCC.

    • @lukastojanovic3023
      @lukastojanovic3023 6 лет назад

      Erm? No?
Obama did appoint him as a MEMBER of the FCC back in 2012, but Trump made him the chairman of the FCC in 2017, and I find it a bit too coincidental that Ajit Pai never had these ''Remove Net Neutrality rules'' before he was the chairman. I also find it a bit too coincidental that he used to work for Verizon, a company that not only despises Net Neutrality, but also spent thousands of dollars to make sure it dies.

Dallas Criddle the opposite is true. Net neutrality is when nobody can compartmentalize the internet. Ending net neutrality means that big corporations will be in charge of doing what they want with the internet behind people's back. What do you think is going to happen when corrupt politicians are friends with these big corporations? They could ask them to block or slowdown traffic to conservative websites or vice versa.

We don’t choose to pledge our allegiance to the flag because of our laws or political choices of this country... we do it to respect those who risk their lives to keep us safe from harm. We do it to thank our family, friends, and even to thank strangers. We do this because we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and a right to bear arms. We do it not because somebody tells us to... We do it out of respect.

You guys should stop suggesting VPN or Tor.
Your ISP provider could block any protocol it see fits (why would non business connections need VPN in their eyes) or even simply limit to their VPN providers of choice.
P2P can also be blocked and throttled without much effort.
Low latency packets could simply be buffered and your gaming experience would be awful.
Your ISP control the bottleneck, and this is true for all the internet around the world.
This is not law yet and will take time to sink in. If you live in the US and want to change this, go see your elected officials or write to them. They are barely the only ones now able to control this mess.
ISP providers are controlling the internet and they don't want more providers in!
They already acquire land, communication poles and wireless frequencies to either have the monopoly or avoid competition.
They also have investors to please, and that is their only worry. If everyone would be ok to divide the internet with pay walls that would have been done a long time ago.
