I'm 32 minutes in and the weather is clear again, I had to pause the audio and I think I felt like I was rising, somehow, the enormous sense of relief?( lack of a better word) Relief. But not like the relief of a headache, where you just stop hurting, this was a relief much more encompasing, more profound. I wish I could think of a better word, but for this moment I can not. Thank you so much. Namaste.
The depth of the expression doesn’t lie in the words, it lies deep in our hearts. Yeah I do feel your each and every word, and I also felt deep compassion for you too. I’m another human being who feels relieved by this deeply touching meditation
Thank you so much for your book Path with Heart it was borrowed from the library by my wife it is truly inspiring. They say when the student is ready the teacher will come. I have been meditating daily and it has really has benefited myself and relationships immensely. My 11 year old son meditates with me for a few minutes every now and then and I thought that a book aimed at younger people filled with many of the stories that you recount in your audios would be very well received. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing this very healing guided meditation. Healing and essential. Your gentle way of sharing, and your humor, help so much in conveying these truths.
In the vast universe of living beings; our life unfolds according to the conditions which create each next day - we are a small part of a great dance - All beings are the recipients of their own karma - we need a compassionate heart and an understanding mind No -one can awaken for another person No -one can let go for another person To allow oneself to be carried away by a multitude of conflicting concerns is, in itself, to succumb to the violence of our times. This is very powerful. Thank you. I shall suggest it to my students and friends. I love the end bit on equanimity -
Loving kindness for Environmentalists living in Virginia, loving kindness, may Virginia continue to recycle the buildings it has already and prevent construction of new buildings, may it value its forests and wildlife, may trees be planted each year and may the festivals for mother nature continue. Gratitude & Respect for Virginia's government, may they share and work with Maryland's government to ensure the best treatment for mother nature, including teaching children in public schools to revere nature and be environmentalist. Loving kindness for the nonwasteful and ecofriendly philosophies in MD and VA, may they be the vast majority. Luck of the nature lovers. LOVING KINDNESS FOR THE RANGERS
Michael Gfroerer sometimes people give a thumbs down due to it not fitting no their particular needs not because it’s bad. I’ve done it due to volume of music, voice doesn’t travel well, or weird background noises. I may appreciate the actual video/meditation but not find it suiting what I need, and when I’m searching I don’t want it to appear.
This is not good according to neuroplasticity and I personally believe that remembering the traumas we had in our lives can only make damage regardless of context or what's your intention. They never had permanent effect thus the initial relief, but neurons that fire together stay together.
I disagree. Facing our traumas and working through them in a safe environment is key to moving on. Just look at psilocybin and mdma therapy with sufferers of trauma and ptsd.
I’m a cog neuro student and I have to say that this doesn’t make a lot of sense. In fact, the opposite of what you say is true. Past traumas or damaging experiences gets stored partly as connections within the nuclei of the amygdala, that’s essentially what the amygdala is for, associative learning. If you trigger that associative connection repeatedly in a safe environment, the ventromedial prefrontal cortex will send projections to the amygdala lessening those connections essentially making you less afraid of whatever trauma you may have experienced.
@@flawlessduck5244 I won't deny that lessening effect but at the same time people then get stuck in a loop, so it would be much more preferable to pull yourself by your bootstraps and take control over what's going on in your head and simply move on with your life. It's not easy but with practice we get better at it, it's the same associative learning.
I would like to use this in a meditation class where I work (a nonprofit, community mental health center) and to be able to put the audio on a CD for clients that do not have access to RUclips at home. Do I need to get special permission from you to do this?
+Pat Novak +Pat Novak This Jack Kornfield meditation does not belong to Diamond Mind. It is a Sounds True product. Diamond Mind has no authority to approve or disapprove of you using this audio in your meditation class or creating a DC for clients to use. The first few seconds of the video introduction state it is a Sounds True production.
+Pam Burnham let me ask you a question. Do you think when Jack Kornfield went to Thailand and practiced with Ajahn Chah; that he charged him a fee? Did Jack have to pay him to listen to the teaching? Do you think there is a copyright on the Buddha's teachings or someone out there owns the dharma? No. I've said before and I'll say it again, the Truth is to be shared, not sold.
+Diamond Mind I don't know whether Jack Kornfield had to pay Ajahn Chah for his teachings, and I know there is no copyright on religious/spiritual teachings. But I do know someone other than you paid for the production of content of this video and owns the rights to it. To suggest that the two are the same thing is disingenuous at best, and dishonest at worst. It's easy to say "the Truth is to be shared, not sold" when you're not the one paying to produce it. Rather than take thanks and praise for this video, you could at least respond with something like "It's a Sounds True production, and I cannot take any credit for it. If you like the video, please visit their website or subscribe to their youtube channel." But no--you just say, "Thanks." How honest is that? Just cop to it, man. It may hasten your journey toward enlightenment.
+Pam Burnham the fact that you think some can copyright the Buddha's teaching and lay claim to it as "intellectual" property speaks volumes to your level of insight.
diamond mind thank you i saw jesus and i could see him but he could not show me any actions of mercy or sympathy for my father because my father is mis diagnosed i think with bi polar and i have schizophrenia but my dad deals through his problem through drugs how can i get better actions of sympathy from jesus to show empathy from my dad but i know it not jesus it me i need to show my dad empathy but with him doing drugs i cant any advice
