  • The Live Dig Radar system uses a ground penetrating radar built into the bucket meaning the operator can see into the ground before and while they excavate.
Designed to give the operator the last line of defence, it scans the ground and provides information on the range and depth of any utilities detected during the scan.
This allows the operator to excavate as close to the utility as they feel is safe and then continue by hand until the utilities are uncovered.
This minimises shovel work and can almost eliminate the hitting of utilities, making sites safer.
It also increases site speed as operators don’t have to take small layers off to find out where the utilities are - they will know and can then excavate safely to a close distance and then finish by hand.
Already established and used throughout the USA, RodRadars LDR system is now available to the UK market exclusively through MDiG.
