I completely understand what you mean about them making you happy. I think that’s one of their major goals. Even months that they do songs so beautiful that it almost makes you cry, they send out behind the scenes videos and messages to their patrons that show how much fun they have just being together. They work hard, but play hard too. And watching them film this one was such a special treat. I think most fans would like to see them perform live. But that would mean giving up everything that we’re getting from them now.
This video was pure joy and had everything we could want in a Voiceplay cover. A Vocal & Violin solo from Layne. Vocal gymnastics from everyone. Lots of fun and shenanigans. Loved watching your reaction to this one!
No touring at the monent, Layne has four daughters, Geoff has a young son, and Eli and his wife just had a baby. It wouldn't be practical. How uch fun was this? Incredible. They're just big kids really. :). But they always bring the emotion. Every time. They are very special people. No doubt about it.
Watching the Behind The Scenes was wonderful. They were having fun the whole time, it was truly joyful. I always enjoy your reactions to them. And be forewarned, Voiceplay and Geoff have new ones coming in a week or two.
They don't go on tour anymore - what with family and kids. I'd love it if they did or even if they just did a show in their area in Orlando. I'm close enough I could make that. The minis are often done here just outside Pattycake Productions studio (where a lot of their staging takes place). Eli does the CGI, green screens, backgrounds. Chicago saw their video of Nothing Else Matters and convinced them to come up to New Jersey for their Chicago and Friends concert last November 17-18. I think it will be televised sometime this month. This video is a delight!
I saw them in concert. I saw their last concert pre-covid shut down. If you think they’re impressive on recordings, you should hear them through 10 foot tall speakers. Geoff literally made my whole rib cage vibrate. No exaggeration. I sat there with my hand on my breastbone and my jaw dropped. I joined their patreon during intermission and am still there. When money got tight, I canceled streaming services but kept them. I get more entertainment for my money from them than any streaming service.
And, THAT is the reason we are Patrons of Voiceplay. They bring a lot of joy with every release. They never miss!!
Voiceplace always leaves me with a smile, but this one leaves me with laughter too. Love them.
