Yep, I was gonna say .. Nick isn't given nearly enough credit for that. He's probably the only actor to do that convincingly. He was also mocapped as Leon. He is Leon essentially.
I think Mathew Mercer is my personal favorite. I personally think his voice works best for the older and more experienced Leon. Kind of like how Courtenay Taylor is for an older Ada.
Exactly my thoughts. I like what Nick did with the innocent Leon in re2 remake and then the more experienced Leon in re4 remake, but Matthew is definitely my favorite.
I personally don’t like Courtenay’s voice on Ada. Not that she’s bad, but after relistening to her Ada, I think the RE2R Ada was the best we got in the entire series and it’s a real shame she wasn’t brought back in RE4R because of her ethnicity
@SilverGeFer while I dont believe that there has been an official reason given to why the recast for RE4R, it's most likely not an ethnicity thing. Capcom does not like unions or working with them, which Jolene Andersen is a part of. That is part of the reason why Resident Evil has such a revolving door when it comes to voice actors. The new actress, Lily Gao, is also the actress who portrayed her in the film "Welcome to Raccoon City." So since they wanted a new actress, why not get the one who they cast for the most recent live action adaptation? It's sucks that's who they went with and why, but unfortunately, that's Capcom's decision
@@gamerguy19981 Ah. I heard people say it was related to that. Then again, people like to use the race or “woke” card against anything involving non-white actors. The union thing makes sense tbh. I know Capcom don’t hire union. Didn’t know Ada’s last actress became part of that in between the games

I miss Paul Haddad and Paul Mercier voices sooo much in remakes....
I love Matt so much, but Nick was SO good as Leon, I can almost only exclusively hear Leon with Nick's voice moving forward.
Paul Haddad will always be my Leon
R.I.P ❤
As an old school fan, I gotta say... the most recent actor, Nick, is absolutely the best. It's like Leon finally sounds like he was always supposed to. Mad props. I hope they keep him on board for a long time as Leon.
Great video! Although the Resident Evil 4 remake is out, I'm still playing a lot of the original on mobile. In fact, on my latest episode of my RE4 series, I just passed through the cabin with Louis and both paths. It was intense! Keep up the great work!
I fucking adore Nicks take man. Its the perfect amount of gruff b movie camp that just fucking works. Right up there for me with Paul Mercier and Matt.
No one will forget Haddad’s work either.
Not even close. Nick should stick to Mo Capping. Paul and Matthew are out of his league.
I think Paul Haddad is kind of slept on. He was the OG and I think he did a really good job, especially for PS1 standards lol. His real life story is also immensely tragic. RIP.
Matthew Mercer was my favorite in RE6 and vendetta
Paul Mercier is my favourite one but I love Nick's Leon voice since it sounds alot like my own voice
Capcom should make a DLC with Paul Mercier voices
I know he’s probably not as liked cause it’s still new but I think Nick might be the best voice for Leon. Idk how to explain it but his voice just fits exactly what I would imagine Leon would sound like if he was a real person
I think he is the worst Leon voice but to each their own.
Nick sounds the best imo! But merciers delivery of the goofy lines is iconic
Paul Mercier 🥇🏆 incredible how his voice fits the characters! He also make the voice of Merchant and i think the Krauser too 🤔! In my opinion they should keep the voice of Merchant and Leon in RE4 Remake
Krauser was voiced by Jim Ward in the original, he is a great actor but unfortunately he retired because of health issues. I've heard that he got Alzheimer, poor man. He will always be the best Krauser imo.
i think my favorite Nick lines are the 2 when he rescues luis "you just seemed like you really wanted to talk" and "you know those things'll kill ya"
RE4 is best version
Nick voice is just perfect
For the longest of time it never occurred to me that Leon Kennedy would be voiced by different people. My brain just went “man Leon really matures and gets older each game, he sounds great” cuz in my head Chris red field was voiced by roger Craig smith for the longest time tooo
There’s no bad actor for Leon…
*Except for DBD Leon*
Remake leon
@@iancruz6617 remake Leon is literally the opposite of bad. In re2 he sounds innocent and inexperienced as Leon should back then. And in re4 he sounds mature and experienced.
@@Kurumiinho He sounds like a downgrade to the original RE4 guy. And in 2 he was just plain bad. I think he would be best voicing minor characters not Leon. I hope they will bring back either the OG RE4 guy or the RE6 one. Those 2 are easily the best Leon voices.
@@georgehouliaras7239 the re6 one is personally my favorite. But I think with re2 remake it was just a matter of context. And re4 voice actor voiced a different Leon, just like the same voice actor from the re2 remake now sounds very different.
@@Kurumiinho I agree with RE6 Leon. I think he is equally as good as the original RE4 Leon. But honestly, the new guy from Remake2 and 4 just doesn't sound right to me. To each their own I guess.
R.I.P Paul Haddad.
When i hear Matthew Mercer voice, all i can think about is Levi, that’s how good his voice fit for the role he played
I love how Nick brought his own voice to Leon. You can hear the difference between the rookie and the agent.
I didn't even realize it was still the same voice actor from re 2 remake! Godamn he is talented
It's Paul M. and Matthew for me. Nick is good too, glad to see he's getting better in Remake.
