love how they put a lot of genuine effort into making these remixes, the art, improving the quality of music, and yet they still reuse the same level from the birthdayz event. wow.
Level design is an important feature in videogame after all, but how PvZ2 leveling works nowadays makes very hard to design good levels tbh. How can you make a level when all the zombies are a joke? You just spam them? Inflating their HP? Make weird an unfair shinanigans worth for being on another episode? Thats the main reason why plant leveling is so awful in my book, because it can easily destroy all glance of level design... I guess they gave up, and decided to do this kind of things, although I admit this is too lazy and for that, I prefer something like those procedural zombies on PvZ survival mode or Endless mode over playing the same level with diferent objectives.
It seems that the Chinese devs really want to make this game good, but the lack of employees and general creativity for levels/balancing is holding them back. I really hope that they can (at least somewhat) clean things up and breathe some life into the tower defence versions of the game, even if it’s not internationally.
Either Talkweb doesn't have any willing employees left to help design the game or the employees are working too much over time and they are paid too little ultimately djr or hallucinating, suffering from Illusions, insomnia and just a lack of energy in the body has left from now not being able to sleep enough

I'm convinced that the devs balanced this and other recent events around Level 5 Primal Peashooter; hell, I could imagine the building where TalkWeb HQ/Studios is has Rockface Rumble from DKC3 (SNES) blasting 24/7 on a full surround sound speaker system, because Primal Peashooter needed a damn anthem at this point for managing to rival the Monkey King based fruit in terms of sheer power.

Tbf, there's not a lot you can do with Frostbite caves, as freezing will eventually force you to play the same way over and over. But man, it took 3 zombies for me to realize these were the same levels copy-pasted from the last event. At least they could make the first few zombies spawn in different lanes
Knowing how much money they can put in the art and the concepts, it's pretty weird that they can't afford / find a good lvl designer. As always, the video is good quality and made with time and heart. Keep up the good work, you'll get to the 100K realy soon !

That's Sunflower Singer's doing. Its Plant Food effect makes the other plants "dance" by making them play their animation of when they get water in Zen Garden, hence why Torchwood burns out.

So I saw a Sloth Gargantuar get frozen. I know in PVZ2C they throw all imps at once (which is honestly easier), but are they also not freeze immune like Global? Is this for all Frostbite zombies or just the Garg
Take it little by little. The patching of some plants that can't be frozen is going in the right direction. But I don't think they can use different spawnings anymore, just that they'll limited the same ones from before, just adding new special zombies and objectives. Since balancing is already really hard with levelling.
I think a good idea for a video would be showing changes in the plants we have in the international version when you level up, like the pumpkin burn or that snapdragon clone that was flying.

I know they look like that in the International version but weren't they pools in the Chinese version due to china's strict rules on what can be soon in games? (Skulls and bones weren't allowed to be showcased to avoid direct topics of death). It just caught me of guard
Tbh I kinda like the idea of Elite Hunter being “extremely overpowered boss but can be stun locked”(though that probably should have a more accessible method than Turkey-Pult if you want to make that an intentional gimmick) but for the other two, give them actually reasonable fucking health instead of making them tankier than the Zombots + shields + only being killable with one damage type. And maybe don’t have fast Bucketheads spawned in hordes constantly in the middle of the lawn(though the Elite Weasels spawning on their own seems genuinely interesting. Imagine that in mods). Also, that final level really just said “Objective: Survive”.
i think that talkweb should make the player be able to get the stars from doing the objections separately, so that you don't have to do them all in 1 go to get all the stars
I enjoy this series as it shows in depth how levels should NOT be made, with that being said though I have a few suggestions that would be nice. Note: You don't have to do any of these things, the only thing I ask is that you at least consider this. also this would not just apply to this series but to your videos in general. 1: It would be nice if you refrain from using level 5 plants in the early levels (notice how I said the EARLY levels, as the later levels would basically be impossible without them) one reason is because its hard to tell if the level is meant for beginners or for experts as the zombies die in microseconds. Another reason is that it get a bit repetitive to see the same plants in every level. plus by not using the same plants, the viewers could see plants like threepeater or reg sunflower or even spikeweed, which would give variety. 2: Not always showing the winning attempt first as it would funnier if you lose to something dumb like a imp or a conehead or something, also it helps show how stupid the level can be, requiring no mistakes. Of course that is IF you lose and sometimes you wont. 3: if you think the level is too boring you could put maybe a pvz heroes match, or you could show some of the failed attempts, just some ideas. Sidenote: when you show the objectives, the mold colonies are in the wrong lanes. I hope you consider some or all of these suggestions, and if you disagree then that's fine as I am only a person with a inferior brain, but hey I did write this school essay comment so that's cool. keep up with the good work and I hope you have a nice day.

There is something that you can do, in order to help us understanding some things about the Chinese Version of PVZ2: Some kind of Mythbusters videos, on which viewers ask for some myths ( I have at least 3 myths that I'm wondering about)
frostbite cave is harder on the level design front with the winds forcing plants but was their not the option to not do a entire frostbite cave realm so that it would only be a little repetitive, if enough was played to get to that point.

The fact that you have the most insanely broken plants in the entire game, with their individual attacks able to instantly down a gargantuar in many circumstances, and there is even a SINGLE LEVEL where you had to retry 13 TIMES... That fact alone should speak for how horrific this realm is to endure. Not play through. Endure. They say that people who go to hell burn, but you never know. Maybe they meant freezer burn.
They put a lot of effort into everything but then they were unable to play test this before launch and change just a couple of numbers in the zombie stats

Not only zombies, the objectives for 10 Normal Levels too. almost every level has Sun Limit, Sun Produce, Plant Lost Limit or at least 2 of the 3

Another reason is that it get a bit repetitive to see the same plants in every level. plus by not using the same plants, the viewers could see plants like threepeater or reg sunflower or even spikeweed, which would give variety.
2: Not always showing the winning attempt first as it would funnier if you lose to something dumb like a imp or a conehead or something, also it helps show how stupid the level can be, requiring no mistakes. Of course that is IF you lose and sometimes you wont.
3: if you think the level is too boring you could put maybe a pvz heroes match, or you could show some of the failed attempts, just some ideas.
Sidenote: when you show the objectives, the mold colonies are in the wrong lanes.

frostbite cave is harder on the level design front with the winds forcing plants but was their not the option to not do a entire frostbite cave realm so that it would only be a little repetitive, if enough was played to get to that point.

Nothing, you can keep them or use them for fusions to get random pieces for other plants.
