      Well as a diabetic they give you insulin and once they give you insulin (which damages your kidneys by the way) then you DO have to keep eating all day to counteract the meds they give you. Type q dubetics before insulin was invented they treated it with diet. Cos thata all they could do was avoid the foods that would kill them...my mom reversed her type 2 diabetes not eating keto but eating a lot of greens and gluten free with some meat and oils and herbs and stuff like different foods with medicinal qualities. She also reversed her osteopenia and he bp. I'm very proud of what she achieved. Almost all her doctor stage out to her and told her eat bread and potatoes instead of blueberries and what she was eating pomegranates and cinnamon and etc. Bitter green melon she used a lot too. Used in India. She eventually got an Indian diabetes nurse who supported her but you would swear they were trying to kill people with the advice they givem they dontnevent ell diabetics to cut down on refined sugar! It's crazy but all the nutritionists associations are efunded by kellogs Danone etc. Big food bissiness. Stay well!

    This makes sense. I am on keto and lost 60 pounds. When I eat fatty foods, it is because my body wants something like a fatty roast beef slow cooked. I eat more than usual. Then my body tells me I am not that hungry, so I eat a lot less for a couple days. That makes me lose weight, or stay tbe same. That is why at almost 70 years old, I wear a size 10 instead of 18 to 20. Your body will burn the fat if you program it to do it by eating the right food, and do what the doctor is saying in this video.

      Good for you!! I have been on modified keto for several months (since November 2022), and felt fantastic initially, and lost 65 pounds (from 205 to 140lbs--58 year old female). Now in the past about 2 months, I have zero energy and can't figure out what is going on. Did anything like that happen to you? My husband is convinced that low carbs is the issue. Maybe I just need to be more diligent in counting the fat grams instead of just limiting the carbs?

    • @lolawants2008
      @lolawants2008 10 месяцев назад

      @@lindamcmahan4686how are you feeling now? No… you don’t need to “count the fat grams”. You need to shift your relationship to your body & eating so that you listen to it & make decisions accordingly. There are a ton of RUclips keto channels- both doctors & knowledgeable humans who used it themselves. If you search for some keywords like keto can you eat too much fat? Or something like that you should find some good info. Entire cultures have lived off basically nothing but fat & protein. It’s not the low carb diet except you may not be eating enough, counting the calories too much- on keto you DON’T count calories & in general it’s a terrible practice. The other thing I know is super important is what KIND of fats you’re consuming. Not all fats are created equally & most the stuff at the store is terrible. Coconut oil, sustainable palm oil, tallow, lard, butter & other animal fats.. are wonderful- you don’t need to count the grams or the calories & keto experts would probably break down what you’re eating in a day to find out you’re likely not eating _enough_ fat or protein. If you really went months on the diet & only started feeling bad much later, it’s unlikely to be the low carbs

      What does insulin resistant ppl mean and how do I know if I am one

    • @matthewstolmeier752
      @matthewstolmeier752 Год назад +8

      @tini96 insulin is a hormone produced by your pancreas. Its purpose is to help push unused sugars from your blood. Doing this in a non-diabetic means the sugars leave your body. Although glucose (sugars) is important so that you have the energy to go about your day, too much glucose is very bad for your other vital organs.
      A person who is insulin resistant has issues with the insulin in their blood actually doing what it should. Most type 2 diabetics are the way they are because their bodies have been over producing insulin for a long time. The more the pancreas produces, the more resistant one becomes.
      Pre-diabetic is a condition doctors refer to in an effort to get their patient to take action. Being overweight, eating too many sugars (read that as processed carbs) causes type 2 diabetes.
      Blood glucose tests that consistently run
      100 to 125 is pre-diabetic.
      Below 100 is normal.
      Above 125 is diabetic.
      These tests are done after fasting.
      Please keep in mind that I'm not a doctor.
      If you think you are pre-diabetic, consult your doctor. They can do an A1C test and tell you if you are at risk.

      @@matthewstolmeier752 oh thank you. So the diet this doctor discusses, is that for people with insulin resistance only or works for others too?

    • @matthewstolmeier752
      @matthewstolmeier752 Год назад +12

      @tini96 Any diet that works to decrease blood glucose spikes is a good diet for anyone.
      Insulin is a reactive hormone. That is to say, it comes into your blood as a reaction to glucose spikes. Not only does it push sugar out of your system, but it tells your body to store fat.
      It's been my experience though, it Isn't what you put in your mouth that affects your health as much as it's what you put in your brain.
      Rather than thinking, "What diet should I use," think ,"How should I change my lifestyle to be more healthy?"

    Thank you Dr Boz! I love how you explain things so well that even an idiot like myself can really GET IT! Simplicity really is best and you are GREAT at keeping it simple if people would only be willing to listen. Sadly we are so conditioned to believe it’s an expensive, complicated, pill and doctor filled, painful and depressing road to be traveled in order to achieve health.
    It’s not complicated!
    It’s not painful!
    It’s certainly not depressing to eat this way!
    It only requires a truthful, truly concerned doctor like yourself and several others I’ve found on RUclips.
    And it’s not expensive! Especially if you consider how cheap it is to remain healthy without all the medications shoved in our faces! Not to mention all the additional medications for the side effects of the original medications! 🤦🏻‍♀️. It seems to be a never ending list! I pray I can stay medication free for the remainder of my life! I will be 54 this April. I’m proud to say I take ZERO prescriptions! I am supposed to be on metforman for diabetes and they wanted to put me on blood pressure medication for just a slightly elevated blood pressure. I refused the bp meds but did take the metforman for about 3 months. Then I found you on tha RUclips! I went through your course, lowered my bp and blood glucose with changing the way I eat as well as loosing 80# in the process. I have to watch myself closely and keep to 10g or less carbs a day and even then my blood glucose can rise. I feel much better eating this way and will continue! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU FREELY DO FOR THOSE OF US WHO CANT AFFORD INSURANCE, CONSTANT DOCTOR VISITS AND MEDICATIONS! I feel as though you saved my life and I can never repay you for that! Not enough research has been done on this topic. We do know the body senses a lack of fuel and goes into a preservation and protect (not build) mode. It could be people who do regular keto and get used to burning fat as fuel - their body will not sense an emergency if they load up with fat - a fuel type their body had adapted over time to burn! I personally find that if I take a 2-3 day fast - starting with a 3 hour cycle ride to deplete all glycogen - I feel renewed - which shows me something good came from it.

That is, if you don't want to be weak, lightheaded, deeply fatigued, and perhaps even bedridden. I've tried the high protein, low carb lifestyle in my very demanding physical activity life, and it sucks!! If you maintain a fairly high level of daily physical activity, your body can certainly handle carbs, and your body/mind will thrive! Just keep the carbs healthy and whole, not processed.

You might have noticed all the obese teachers, you were surrounded by! The nurses in the hospitals are looking like they are on the football teams, instead of cheerleaders. And I attribute that to false medical information! No one wants to look unattractive, or get ill! The worst thing about this lack of education and knowledge, is you can’t pass it on to your children, and save their lives, and social lives! Popular children are more active, and successful! Nice to be picked for the team, instead of non inclusion in social circles. It seems real health education needs to be more of a priority, at least for our children’s sake!

      @@kevinna3786 autophagy is literally eating yourself. It's not eating something else. It seems everyone here missed the point of autophagy. They would be more accurate to describe high fat eating as ketosis, not autophagy, and we already know keto is very unhealthy. ✌️
      International Society of Sports Nutrition position paper covering keto diets notes the “ergolytic” effects of keto diets on both high- and low-intensity workouts. Eight weeks of all the standard upper and lower body training protocols-bench press, pull-ups, squats, deadlifts, and, no surprise, you boost muscle mass-unless you’re on a keto diet, in which case there was no significant change in muscle mass after all that effort. Those randomized to the non-ketogenic diet added about three pounds of muscle, whereas the same amount of weightlifting on the keto diet tended to subtract muscle-an average loss of about 3.5 ounces of muscle.

      @@leviahimsa lol thanks for reiterating the obvious about autophagy and its meaning .. again I'm going say you seem to be missing the point of what she's saying and what a whole bunch of doctors in this field of research are saying, if a person is insulin resistant and they aren't consistent Keto dieters, then for maximum benefit to program your body / the cells to use the fat as a fuel source immediately thereafter you should eat mostly FAT!!! - just prior to going into your intermittent Fast. By the way the fat doesn't have to be meat based .. there's other healthy forms of fat out there. I don't feel like writing a essay here but I guess it must be done in order to help you understand why the experts in this field say this, this in regard to people doing intermittent fasting & who tend to be insulin resistant - ( which is approx. 40% of North Americans), If your not a regular faster which most are not and if your not a regular keto dieter then your body needs several days to build the special kind of nano machines ( for lack of proper term) that are responsible for breaking down & efficiently processing the fat stores on a persons body, most peoples bodies day to day are only setup to burn glucose & carbs efficiently ..Also if its only a 16-18 hour window of intermittent fasting you want your last meal to be at least half or 60% fat to protein ratio to keep insulin levels low and dissipate as quickly as possible so the body can get down to the business of burning fat and other things in your body more quickly. There's more to elaborate on but you should be able to grasp what is being laid down here. That's BS about the meat diet by the way, that's the Elites trying brainwash people out of meat based diet, its equivalent to the Fox giving advice on the security of the Hen house, I know a ton of people who eat a lot of meat all their lives and are old in their 90's and made it without any Health ailments? The animal kingdom is doing just fine eating mostly meat wolfs, cougars, lions etc all live long full lives and don't have health ailments?? Go figure huh ??
