I do practice almost everyday, and sometimes I did change some of my grip or stands etc…, somehow I did play well in some days, but about 70% or more it’s not really working well. I think there is a thing that our body situation (for example our eyes vision)is not the same everyday. There’s one thing you are right for sure, all we do is try our best to make our stroke stright with right speed. Thank you for your videos and it really helps a lot for most of us. Cannot wait for another episode 🥰
Coach Brando, thanks for being straight to US about the changes that can affect our game from not being consistent... Hope we learn to stay being Consistant and never allowing things we try to affect our games. 😊🙏
Brando, I think this happens when a player is struggling to see whether they are cueing across the ball (due to short range vision problems). For whatever reason they can't see it wiith their vision. Therefore, they try to correct it like a blind man would, by changing their stance, grip etc, so that their cue is perfectly straight even when they can't see it. For example, imagine a blind juggler, he throws balls in the air and tries to catch them, the balls miss his hand, so he moves his hand slightly to the left or right and tries again, eventually the adjustment matches up with his posture and movements on that particular day. This can work a tiny bit, but it doesn't solve the main problem, which is that he is blind, basically guessing on where ball will land. Do you know what I mean?
I think it's a great analogy with babies. I went through tons of such small adjustments. They all work great, you suddenly start potting great and you think you finally found it. Sadly they don't work next day anymore. But what else can we do? How do you fix things if you're not cueing straight?
Hey brando i have a grip issue because of my coach in Pakistan my grip was good before and i was making a ring with my index finger but he has changed my grip he told me not to make a ring and after that i couldn't have played long shots with that grip which he told me now what should i do can i make it like before???? plz let me know
I disagree. It's true that making subtle changes in your stroke just for the sake of making them will not improve your game. However if you make a change (for example, moving the cue tip to the right on the cue ball a couple of mm prior to hitting the cue ball) and control all other variables - like feet location, etc.- and then repeat that change over and over many times as you execute your stroke, resulting in a straighter shot each time you stroke, you can almost be sure that the change you made is why you are shooting straighter.
So if changing things in your technique won't help your game when you're no longer improving despite tons of practice, what will? I mean, surely you have to change SOMETHING to improve more? Just doing everything the same old way when you're not improving won't work. I feel like most people who play snooker get stuck at a certain point and never improve any further despite how hard they may keep practicing and playing.
The baby example is so on point. 1 thing I've learnt is that whatever technique you choose, it has to perform under pressure, if it does not, the technique is not right at all.
