I got mine 3 weeks ago, Canadian version. a great bike in engineering, solid construction, performance , price and value. there are some minuses which I won't go into but this bike is definitely worth your consideration to purchase. suggest you have a bike mechanic readjust brakes and derailleurs if you self assemble. however, an Ebike is not the best exercise bike if you have the strength to pedal. a decent regular mountain bike that requires effort to pedal might be a better choice. however, you can also pedal without power on the Rad on a level smooth surface with reasonable ease. great exercise.
Another quality review by the Fricken Shredder. I like how you break down who the bike is for, who it is not for, and the list of uses the bike can pull off. I’m still patiently waiting for my Recon, tomorrow makes 10 weeks. 🤙
Great review! I have both the Rad Mini and the Rad Runner (a big fan of 20" wheels!), so I have an extra battery when needed. I think the Rad City is a 'sweet street' machine!
Hi there. I have this bike and I enjoy it a lot! I was thinking about getting a Velotric or a newer RadPower but nah! this will do for at least one more Summer! About that easy to install sit for my 3 year old...which one is the one you use? I want to make sure I get the right one. Thanks
I have the CDN version...is it "safe" to hack it and get it to go faster -just a few miles per hour more? Will the motor work a lot harder and maybe get damaged? Just wondering. Also I thin the CDN model has a less powerful motor...in any case, I'm happy with my Stepthru model- I use pedal assist 1 or 2 mostly but i like the throttle to get me thru street instersections but I'm not competing with cars..I haven't tested it in difficult hills..of course I intend to pedal -I sure did with my previous non electric bike but a little help going up hills is always appreciated. I'm getting used to the upright position etc and it sure is a heavy girl! (boy?)...a beast...
Nice one pal, really got the feel of it watching and I am on the cusp of getting one. Mind you I am 6'4" pushing 275 lb so it remains to be seen how I would do on this beaut. +1
Hello there from the UK. You mentioned the possibility of carrying a little dog in the front basket. I have a male miniature schnauzer what size of basket would you suggest? And would you have any suggestions on to make my dog secure so that he may not fall out? I thank you for your advice…
I don't know why you get such a small amount of range, 22 - 25 miles of range on peddle assist 1 sounds insanely low for this bike. I probably only put mine as low as peddle assist 1 about 1/4 of the time I ride. The route I'm currently taking my bike on is a little over 15 miles for a round trip and when I get home I still have 70% charge left in my battery. So with the way I'm currently riding I should be able to go 40 - 45 miles easily. I've only been riding my Radcity 5 for about a month now so I haven't tried this yet, but with how well it's doing, my guess is that I'd probably get 22 - 25 miles on full throttle without any peddling at all. As for peddle assist 1, I'd expect more than 70 miles of range. Maybe I'll run these test soon but could you be doing something wrong? Did you try resetting the trip odometer before you start each trip to accurately measure the miles?
If you're only getting 22 miles on a full charge something must be wrong with your battery. I get almost 40 miles easy on my RadRover 6+ and way over 40 miles on my wife's RadCity 5 Plus.
Thanks for the video. The RadCity 5 Plus is definitely a good sub-2K priced E-Bike road bike and the Rad corporation customer service is excellent if you ever have an issue with your bike. Also check out the Aventon Aventure which is a more powerful fat-tire version of this bike. Question - Where / how did you mount your GoPro?
So I live in Los Angeles and want to stay legal, I see the unlimited mode at 12000watts, obviously I wont be riding in that mode but just having the bike with that option is it still legal? Its really this bike or the zx for me but i would prefer this one for the shocks. thx
Did you just say you are getting 22-25 miles in range? That’s incorrect. I have been riding this bike for 3 months now. I’m doing 50 miles with 4 bars left. That’s 40% of the battery unused. And I’m fat as hell! Lol I saw some people don’t even want to purchase this bike now because of that incorrect range lol smh no way I would pay that amount of money for 10 miles one way in range. That’s insane!
Very nice review. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!

Hey wood! It’s been a minute. Welcome back. 🤜 thanks! Yeah I knew you had some RadPower bikes. Sweet with the extra battery. Range baby range!

Nice bike I would put a suspension seat post on it as its a game changer for no rear suspension, Brilliant review Kevin
Thanks Roger. I totally concur. Suspension seat posts make a hard tail way more comfortable.

He probably weighs 300 pounds

Yes I just tested the aventure and the RadRover 6 plus. Good bikes. Helmet mount.
Velotric discover 2
I have the same bike now for 3 weeks. Bike doesn’t work and Rad doesn’t have the part to fix it.
i might have missed it but you might want to say you're not liable if someone does the speed hack on their bike lol
Is this better than magnum metro s? Ride1up lmtd? Feel like there’s better stuff at 2k price point
there is.
40 kmh = 24.8 MPH

I love this dude!!! I am suprised that you haven't researched P-R-O-M-O-S-M!
Cool! 🤜
Cadence sensor therefore it's not the greatest out there. Plus the range sucks. Pass.
Swearing was unnecessary.
I appreciate the review.
Bike sounds like 🗑️. My opinion. I'll ride my magicycle.
