As someone who lives in Japan and visits crane game arcades OFTEN...I think its really cool this app exists. Japanese crane games are definitely designed to let you win......buuuut they want you to put in more than one coin. If you're at the machine for awhile, the staff will even help you every so often by giving you tips or even moving the item closer to the goal for you. Giving people the experience to play like I do is awesome.

Japan crane games may be more generous, but they're never designed to "let you win.". At the end of the day, it's just another form of gambling that's designed to make you lose in the long run.
Edit: But yeah, I guess 90% of the fun is actually playing the claw game itself.
