Best Maui Humpback Whale Aerial Footage! Endless Breaching!

- The breaching portion of this video is from the 1:05 part on! FOUR minutes of Humpback acrobatics!
As most of you that have followed me on various platforms know, I spend most of my time whale watching in Southern California. It's an amazing place to whale watch, as the variety of cetaceans we see is almost unparalleled with any other coastal habitat on earth! However, this was my first time visiting Maui during the Humpback breeding season, and I was honestly overwhelmed! The sheer density of whales here is staggering, and the amount of new calves was amazing! Everywhere you looked from the coast there was a cow/calf pair! Sometimes they would be by themselves, sometimes with an escort, and sometimes with other cow/calf pairs on what looked like play dates! As you can see in the video above, these little calves LOVE to jump out of the water!
I also encountered numerous competition groups and set my personal record for most whales (9) on my drone screen in one shot! I can't wait to be back next year!

It’s amazing that even a baby can jump out of the water. I tried doing that and that didn’t work out. I’m so much lighter than the whales. No Fair!!! I think the babies are jumping for joy. Love the video. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you 😊

I've read so much about whales, where they are trying to find a reason for their breaching. Why can't it just be that they're having a good day and they're feeling themselves...it's so good to be a whale...the water is clean here and the perfect temp, I have a full belly, the sun is shining, there are no pesky orca around to rescue a seal or sea lion buddy from. Life is F*n Good! So I think I'll jump and splash around a while.

Just came back from Maui. So Many humpback breaching. You could sit at the beach and count to 10 and see Thier spout, fluke or full on out of the water breach.

I think they are having fun when they do it. The babies are so cute when they do them. We know how are children are whne they do something new...."look mom, look dad," so sweet. That is true freedom, it is what life is all about.

This is amazing! Lots of skill involved in finding the whales, launching the drone, keeping focus, then editing it all-amazing. Did you launch from a boat or from shore? We are in Maui now and I want to re-create this masterpiece!!

Special creatures. I had the privilege to see Humpbacks every day for a few weeks of the Kohala Coast in Hawaii. Take a second and contemplate that an 80,000 lbs animal can jump 50 feet out of water. Their combination of grace and awesomeness is a sight to behold.

This is amazing and love the humpbacks! But here in Australia we have pretty strict rules to protect them and one is that drones can't come within 300m of a whale or dolphins. Surprised Hawaii obviously doesn't have the same rules

I went to Maui back in 2011-2012 (Christmas Break). Saw them doing this from boats and the deck of a condo. Cool shit.
They seem like such happy joy-filled creatures, God did a great thing when he created them for our joy at them. The young whales are adorable. Thanks so much for this it is happy to watch, makes me smile.
