Hey auto fanatic I haven’t watched in a while, I bought your mop a while back. Where can I get the replacement mop heads because they’re wider than the standard griots garage head. Thanks
I have the Griot Garage wash mop and the major issue with it is the mop head is too large for the plastic base of the head and when you dip it into your wash bucket and it gets loaded with water it moves around and is very difficult to clean vertical surfaces like the sides of your car. Horizontal surfaces it works perfect but if they made the plastic base the same size as the mop head it would have been perfect. I have to modify mine with a second piece of plastic.
I just ordered the modified mop from your online store. I can't wait to try it out. I'll keep you posted as I will use this with my dealing business. I have learned a lot form your videos keep it up.
Hi Marc thanks for the order as soon as the handles get to me i will fabricate yours and get it shipped ASAP, we anticipate next week or so but there are many delays now with logistics and getting supplies.
Amazing video really enjoy your channel! I have a L4-L5 back injury and it has taken me away from what a love detailing. I am trying to make adjustments in my life to be able to do some detailing washing and drying being the hardest on my back! Do you still make the modifications I would love to get one of the modified griots kits to save my back. Thank you again for the great videos just started working my way through all of your videos thumbs up for them all great job. Have a wonderful weekend. -Paul
Auto Fanatic what is it exactly that you do to the Griots to make it so the mop head isn’t so flimsy feeling while washing surfaces and dunking in buckets?
Seemed like you’d decided to dislike the MM pole before you started...you criticised it for having no handle but it does have a handle, a handle near the head defeats the object of a mitt on a pole does it not? Then you measure the pads quite creatively. Didn’t bother finishing the video as it seemed like your mind was made up.
You can go spend your own money like I always do and test the MM one versus the custom one I make you will understand in seconds why I prefer mine. To use this type of device effectively you need to have a certain amount of weight to the unit and balance otherwise it's a useless cleaning device doing a contact wash and causes more body fatigue than using a mit and bending .
I know this is an old video so not sure whether or not you will see this but I have a question. What are your thoughts about the fabric that the Griots "noodles" are attached to and whether or not it could damage paint? I'm always concerned with using mitts with the noodles that if the underlying fabric comes in to contact with the paint it could scratch. With the Microfiber Madness products it seems like their construction means only soft material every hits the paint.
never an issue to be honest the Griots once i modify it is so much better to use and control the MM mop is too light and small and it really is hard to agitate and control what your doing.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Sorry couple more questions. I tried to find the video showing the mods to the Griots is it still online? I've been watching some of your videos on the wheel cleaner you are getting ready to release. I have been through Poorboy's World and plenty of others to try and find the perfect touchless wheel cleaner. I'm definitely interested in yours. I saw the video you did using it on your Mustang wheels. Not sure if you are looking for any more "demo" videos but my Hellcat currently has 800 miles of brake dust on the front wheels and I think they would be an excellent source of proof.
good video man, at the dealership we use those brooms with light green brush on it. its the one you usually use on tires. but our work is high volume detailing. the amount of cars i scratch each day lol. i think i scratched like 10 to 15 golf Rs lol all brand new

I've been cleaning my cars with a 10$ mop for years. Works flawlessly.
