if they crack is on the right hand side, why are you installing everything on the left?
Should the crack not be in the middle of the membrane?

Yes you are correct, if we are only repairing the crack then it would be in the middle of the hole, but In this case there was several issues with the wall (rod holes leaking) and this crack was only one of the issues that needed to be repaired, so in order to keep within the clients budget we repair what's needed to stop the leaking, while not breaking the bank for the customer.
