Sheila can I ask, if I'm knitting a separate button hole band, what do I do with the stitches left on the stitch holders. Do I cast them straight off sew it up then fix the band on? I tried picking up stitches around the cardigan on the mock rib cardigan and couldnt manage 163 St's. Anyway. I've lost my rag with it and put it in the bin. Haha. I've started a new one. I'm hoping to make separate band.

You just cast the sts off instead of putting them on a stitch holder..

Get the cardigan out the bin and just knit a long band to go around if you can't manage to pick up the stitches,
