Because of the transformer in the balanced input circuit. By shorting cold and ground you end up with a unbalanced to unbalanced transformer. When you don't short, noise will get injected into the circuit.
@@CedohKingdom92 I like your videos. good camerawork, clear sequencing, cool text overlay, the link you shared is a better video, but still showing bad soldering technique. what stuck out to me specifically is: is this rosin core solder?, tin the wire first, tin the device first , always put the solder gun behind the wire and heat while applying solder on top, make twists neat, cut insulation exactly. I know I'm being picky, not trying to ruin your day, but you don't want to make cold solder joints and have to fix them later. That's how I was taught. Good Luck!
