Highly underrated video ! This was key for me and I want to thank you for this video. Light seal is so important and with Apple doing such a horrible job of explaining and also getting some really bad people to give demos, many people end up getting the wrong size and will complain about FOV, comfort etc. Sad affair, Hope more people watch this and get the best one for their head size !

I’ve watched far too many VP vids. This is the first I’ve seen which explains the light seal numbers so clearly. Thanks 😄

I noticed a significant reduction in pressure around my face with the W+.
Would love to see a follow up or reddit post regarding the W vs N pads. Thx!

I am also curious about W vs N sizing. Is it just nose width? Or entire mask width?

    • @kevinreutter6383
      @kevinreutter6383 Месяц назад +1

N and W is Entire mask width. The normal and + cushion just add more depth to it. Makes sense if you feel pressure on your nose for example.

I've noticed the angle induced by this seal also affects the location of the lens reflections from the lens itself. My reflections are too much in the way of the video and I'm looking to replace the seal with a different size to remedy the reflections... not the light leaks, if that makes sense. Funny how nobody is talking about this aspect of the seal. They are two totally different subject matters.

That's interesting. So far, I've just accepted the glare. Which angles have you found to be most beneficial for glare positioning?

Like! I also have 21W, it was from box. I didn’t know which size I get as I’m outside of US. But seems I lucky :)
FOV could be better. I really like FOV without light seal cushion (which is W for me), but Apple says that my eyes are too close to lenses. And it’s less comfortable to wear without it. I think that it’s an area for further improvements

I’ve actually tested every one that Apple makes, had the AVP since it dropped…
    21W all the way…
Depending upon your facial bone structure… so when I say this is literally flush on my face with the 21W, I have issues with Optic ID at times, and I purposely have to kind of unlock & shimmy AVP down my nose to unlock it.
21W fits like a glove… and I am constantly getting you are too close to the screen.
(I literally blink and or tear up at times through different weather changes i.e., going from indoors to outdoors whether it’s hot or cold or air-conditioned and let’s say my contact, or my eye gets irritated, and my tears from my eye will hit the screen if I don’t pull the AVP off as soon as a small tear occurs) … I guess I freaked out because I don’t wanna mess the screens up.
But the difference between no facial shield and 21W for me is nothing big.
My FOV is pretty excellent… I’ve driven (not to post & not for clout) with family, I can wear it all the time… the difference going with any face

I was scanned as 33W which was completely wrong. Went to 21W which improved POV a lot. But it was still painful on my forehead and if I didn’t use the W+ Cushion it also hurts on my nose. Then I finally decided to go 11W which is perfectly fine in comfort, lens glare and FOV.

The 11M press down on my cheeks close to my nose, while a 36W press down on my eyes close to my temple, which cause Optic ID to not work at all. I cannot fiind any light seal that can rest somewhat on my nose, distributing the weight. All seals I tried just press down on my forehead and cheeks. Hoping for some 3rd party seals soon. Ones with air pumps would be great.

  • @alienlovearts

A friend had a 30 minute demo at the Apple Store with a 23W. There was still a feeling of it being too loose with light leak at the bottom and pressure on the bridge of the nose. They want to go back for a rescan.

Are they likely to offer after market? I actually don’t mind using the Apple Vision Pro without a light shield it’s less clunky in the face and the light that’s let in isn’t a deal breaker but I’d need some padding around the nose forehead. I can see a lot of better after markets for this.

I suspect there will be a lot of aftermarket solutions after some time. There is much pain and a great need for comfort and fit solutions.

Make sure the cloth piece is resting onto your and around nose, (from top onto bottom) it’s ok for slight leakage it goes away/gets used to it as long as it’s not bunched up, nice and flat resting

It's a Velcro head band I repurposed from a Quest headset attachment. I've since switched to using a second solo knit band (small) attached with Velcro cable ties. Comfort was vastly improved for me and the bands are super convenient to adjust.
