I love Gong, in 1996 i saw 2 live shows when they reunited, in Montréal and Québec city. That was just before internet spreaded everywhere. I knew very few about the band at that time. I had a couple albums, my friends got other and some cassettes with recordings not always well identified =) good memories. Then we bought all the discographie in CDs
Great video! Really agree with you guys and your use of the word "Whimsical" in describing Gong. Flying Teapot for me. I think it holds its place in my heart, as it was the first Gong album I bought. The title track and "Zero The Hero and the Witches Spell are still my fave two tracks. Cheers
Part of my life since 1973 discovered via the new virgin label at that time. What a journey it has been. 'Sprinkling of clouds' got to be the highlight of the trilogy imho.
I can't quite remember who said it. It was either one of the KLF or one of The Orb. But the quote goes; "At the time, Gong were a cheesecake in a world seemingly only filled with baked beans."

Wow... thanks for sharing, the show must have been a bit of an eye opener if you didn't know them too well at the time.. 😎
Great conversation about three of my favorite albums. Thanks! Banana nirvana mañana.
Ha.. "I am, you are, we are, crazy! We’re all pot head pixies!" 😎
Pierre Moerlen's Gong is great too!

@@ProgAxiaI like all their albums!

@@ProgAxia Thank you. It’d be great to chat sometime. Cheers

Yeah, the rhythm section nails it every time 😎

Yeah, A Sprinkling of Clouds coming out of Master Builder and another favorite, The Isle of Everywhere.. bloody awesome 😎
Great stuff! I got into it backwards; first found Hillage's Fish Rising, then Gong You, then Angel's Egg, etc.
Fish Rising is one hell of a Gateway album to Gong 😎
Similarly -- Sreve's Motivation Radio was my first one, & I worked my way backwards from there.
@@WillCate another great album, love Saucer Surfing from that 😎
OMG you've droped a Gong triogy vid... God bless ya! 👽
Yeah man... Love me some Gong! Ha Ha 😎
@@ProgAxia Gong are a bit of an unusual band in the whole Canterbury scene
Pretty new to Gong but ive listed through the trilogy several times and ive already become a fan. They are really unlike any other band.
Yes a very different band... Have you listened to Camembert Electrique? another great Gong album. 😎
@@ProgAxia I have not but that is next on my list, thank you :)
