Thank you so much for this very well done, easy to understand, hear and see video. It appears to be the only one showing this technique. I'm so glad you posted it. I would have never figured it out without seeing it up close. Thanks again!
This is great! used it for a great scarf lace yarn silvery on one side and blue on the other really nice and warm!! thanks so much. only did straight double knit stockenette stitch but looks like knit on both sides. I did break down and bought a ring holder to fit on my left index finger (continental style knitter) this helped it go a lot faster and fun.
Great Video, Thank you for sharing this. Wonderful help. I wish I could see it in continental but I think if I sit and practice with the video a few times on scrap yarn I'll see how the position of the needles and yarn will be when I knit
I really like this video and the technique to have only one color showing on each side. My question is ... How do you treat first and last stitches of each row so you only see one color on the edges as well?
I am having the same trouble as kipsnow. Doesn't help that I am also a leftie knitter. I get the correct look when I use the one color (Judy's MCO/Doesn't matter), but Oh, well. Moving on, and thanks for the video!
Lovely video, thanks for sharing ! May I just ask about the typically worked together first and last stitches of any row in the double knitting technique? You don't seem to do them in here but your swatch still looks closed at the edges, how do you manage to get that result? Thanks in advance !
I found this to be enlightening and so useful. Well done. BTW I never noticed "dirty fingernails" I was watching the knitting instruction. However, out of curiosity I wondered how bad this was since some one made a comment about it---on viewing the excellent video once again....I will say I still don't have a complaint about anything!!!! The complainer needs therapy.
Aha... Liam & klpsnow, after having the same problem myself, I believe I know what I missed doing: After casting on, you must turn your work upside down before knitting the first row. Ta da! In that part of the vid, she is both "locking in the st" and turning work upside down before beginning to knit.
I wonder if this could be used to knit a sock!! Hmmm....Maybe and Afterthought everything sock? I could make a two colored sock (front and back or down the middle)!!???
How do you incorporate the typical last and first stitch that are knitted with the two colors together? Are they not necessary here? It seems to me that the two sides would not be connected between rows...
I seem to get stuck on locking the yarn in the purl side, also having issues when it comes to purling reverse. some of the purls are not all closed on needle.
you say at 3:38 to turn it over again but you didn't - you're holding the locked in yarn with your index finger - watch the red / blue. so purl bumps are facing up when we start to knit? I can't get this to work and wondering if that's it
It took a few tries, but between this video and the "Judy's Magic CO" video, I was finally able to do it. And if a clumsy oaf like me can get it, anyone can!
You can adjust the speed of the video by clicking on the little cog at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a sun with six bumps. I hope this helps you.
Needs to explain in more detail. Don't just show me explain as well. Some terms were just thrown around; please keep in mind that not everyone watching has as much experience knitting and may not be as familiar with some aspects as you are. Otherwise I liked the video, I just had a hard time with some concepts.

I love your VDO. The right speed for a beginner like me. Thank you very much !!!!

You made that so much easier than breaking and adding yarn. Could double knitting work in fair isle?

I literally cracked up when you described it as a "death grip" LOL! Seriously, I have a terrible habit of doing that!
Thanks for this awesome video!
Thank you for such awesome instructions (all three) regarding double knitting. Best ever!!
Thank you for making this video. It helps me very much. Have a great day.

Hey!!!! I love your explanation! How would you do it with only one color ?
This is just a 2 color variation of this cast on. ruclips.net/video/_hbXMkyWh8Q/видео.html

+suecat111 AAHHH Yes!! 2:40 to 3:40 in the video! I couldnt come up with how to help. Thanks for helping these folks!!
+Krystina Snyder +lissaplus3 Glad I could help! :)
Can this cast-on be used when knitting in the round?
Have you tried to make a double knitted infinity scarf where you are grafting the cast on and the last row?
I wonder if this could be used to knit a sock!! Hmmm....Maybe and Afterthought everything sock? I could make a two colored sock (front and back or down the middle)!!???
AR Chery this is the cast on I use for socks
lissaplus3 cool!! Wow. You have me thinking ma'am!
How do you incorporate the typical last and first stitch that are knitted with the two colors together? Are they not necessary here? It seems to me that the two sides would not be connected between rows...
thank uuuu sooooo muuuuuuuch 😍😍😍
You should really write a book!
I seem to get stuck on locking the yarn in the purl side, also having issues when it comes to purling reverse. some of the purls are not all closed on needle.
+bell cndle I'm having the same issues. I can't seem to have it look the same as the video,
I seem to have lost a stitch while trying to bring them onto one needle. How do I fix that?
Execelent video

I did turn it over. Check it out again.
Do you have a video showing this for Magic Loop?
I wonder whats going on? Can you give me more details?
2:13 start
lol What would it include?
Can this apply for dk in the round?
There is no link to judys magic co.
Ugh, this is driving me nuts. I tried it w/ two different weights and it keeps getting more and more loose when I pull them off
It took a few tries, but between this video and the "Judy's Magic CO" video, I was finally able to do it. And if a clumsy oaf like me can get it, anyone can!
Please can someone help me. I'm having issues with the first purl stitch done after cast on. I'm having trouble with the purl stitch not locking in.
+Teresa Berry Did you leave the purl yarn to the back and knit the first stitch with the knit yarn and then bring the purl yarn to the back?
I like this invisible caston ... But your fingers (smile) are moving to fast for me... To catch on how u r doing it
how can I knit 2p stich or 2knit stich in condo knitting
I have a pattern that says to cast on 77 sts. How many cast-ons do I make?
+Teresa Berry You will need to cast on 77 stitches.
Can this cast on work with an odd number of stitches?
This is the pattern I want to make from double knitting. Scandi Snowflake Hat

Rolled Hem Version
Picot Hem Version
Size: To fit a 21" head.
Gauge:" 3-1/2 sts/inch
Materials: Size 10 knitting needles; Caron Simply Soft yarn - one skein White, and one skein Berry Blue.
Directions: Holding two strands of yarn together (using one strand from the middle of the skein, and one strand from the outside) throughout pattern, Cast on 77 sts. Work 4 rows stockinette stitch. Change to blue yarn, and work two more rows (also using two strands of yarn).
Next Row: K2, (yo, k2 tog) across. Purl next row.
Work 4 more rows st st in blue.
Attach White yarn and follow chart below. (the diamond chart is not a complete repeat at the ends of right side rows, so pay attention when working the wrong side rows. The Bracket A marks the repeat section for the snowflake pattern only)
When chart is finished, you should be ready to work a wrong side row.
Next row: (P2, p2 tog) across row.
Next row: [K1(white), k1(blue)] across.
Next row: P2tog-b across row. End p1.
Next row: k2 tog across.
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail (long enough to sew seam of hat). Thread this tail through rem sts, and pull tight. Secure. Then sew center back seam.
For Rolled Hem, leave as is. Hem will roll up.
For Picot Hem, fold along 'yo' row and sew hem in place.
You didn’t show how to cast on?
I can't tell how you are putting the stitches on the needles, you go a bit fast for me to see. Otherwise a great video
You can adjust the speed of the video by clicking on the little cog at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a sun with six bumps. I hope this helps you.
didn't get any help from this what-so-ever.!

Im sorry, you have reached a knitting tutorial by mistake. You should make sure you include "fingernails" in your search next time.
You're purling through the back loop, right?
this is not enlightening. it's confusing.
dirty fingernails are such a turnoff.
what she says doesn't match what she does :(
Im sorry you didnt get out of my video what you came here to get!! Best wishes for you finding your desired tutorial.
