The Gates of Zendicon is pretty good. A challenge even when played on hard mode as it's much faster.
Those large pixelated explosions and sound FX are great and playing the game on the original Evercade handheld is the way to go with these Lynx games as it's probably a far better experience than Lynx owners back in the day probably had as save states didn't exist back then.
With the exception of California Games, this is probably one the best Evercade game packs.

My comment is way late here, but I really like what you said re: how Evercade should be the battleground for these licensing companies and old systems.

Another good review video. Yeah these look a little better than the games on the first Lynx collection but outside of Chips Challenge they're just not good enough. Chips Challenge is also on the C64 Mini which is down to around $45 so I've been thinking about picking up one of those especially if the price drops a little more but I won't be going for any of the Lynx collections. I am really looking forward to the Team 17 Amiga collection and would be really bummed if it turns out anything like the Lynx.

Yea the Team 17 one is the first one I've been excited about in a while

I honestly really enjoyed both Lynx cartridges on the Evercade , there are better games that could have been on there but obviously licensing is a problem. Still everyone has there opinion and not everyone will like the same games

I really wanted to like it, at least this collection was short, but personally I found that 1st collection was painful to review

This is the Lynx Collection cart that should have been released in the first place. The Lynx Collection 1 was total garbage, and included several games that came out after the Lynx was discontinued. The Lynx Collection 2 is a good representation of the most popular and well-known first-party Lynx games of the era. The remaining quality Lynx games were mostly arcade ports like STUN Runner, Rampage, Ninja Gaiden, and Roadblasters; ironically, the Lynx's claim to fame in its heyday was the wide variety of arcade ports. It actually received a decent port of Steel Talons; polygon-based graphics on a handheld released in 1989 is certainly a thing to behold.

I think the main thing that annoyed me is they released both these carts together, they could have just trimmed some of the awful stuff off and just release one cart instead of them milking collectors

Was considering getting the Lynx Collection 1 since they're on their way out now but it seems too much filler is on that one. Lynx Collection 2 is great though. One of the best Evercade carts.

I don't agree with you. I bought this collection just recently and I think for £14.99 it was a bargain. I don't think there are any bad games on the collection just mediocre to good. Also the best games on the Atari lynx (paperboy, rampage, roadblasters, pacland, joust) are all going to have licensing issues.

I'll give those ago when I eventually get the real thing. Handheld paperboy sounds like a winner

@@thegamesapprentice I played a lot of paperboy, because it looked like the arcade version, had all the sound effects, and it you could control it properly. I know there is a mame version now, (bloody hard to control without the handlebars) but this is '91 and the home ports were less than stella. The Atari lynx version was the only version to hit the mark for me.

Here is a link to another reviewer playing atari Lynx games but at the correct aspect ratio for the lynx (so it is not so blocky).

Harsh lol. I actually had over half of those games as a kid and loved them. Call me crazy but this is the only reason why I would a evercade system.

The Atari games are amazingly well suited to the Evercade handheld. Who would seriously want to play these games on a 50 inch TV?

I had a lynx it was 3.5 stars back then... lots of hype, no real games.
