I'm a 66 year old recovering disco diva. As music has changed over the many decades I have a hard time finding groovy music. Tycho has been my jam for at least 6 years. Love your music!!
Wow, this actually sounds like classic Tycho! I didn't think he would make music like this again after all the stuff with vocals in the last five years. I love this!
Scott your music always gives me a sense of anemoia, which means a feeling of nostalgia for a time and place one has never actually experienced. As an artist to create this effect on their listeners is something to be truly proud of.
My journey with Tycho started with a "Walk", then went into a "Daydream" all 7 years ago. Now, I'm seeing "Phantoms" only an hour after release. Cheers, Tycho! It's been awesome to grow up listening to your music.
Ha that's cute!! My Tycho journey started with the Science of Patterns twenty two years ago. It's always cool to see the new fans slowly filter in with each new release and each change of direction. He has evolved SO MUCH musically and you can hear the growth with each release.
Back in the kazaa/limewire days I had a song titled red bridge. I tell ya, it took me years, maybe almost a decade before I found the artists name. It was tyco lol
Tycho is one those artists where when I see their music come up in my RUclips I will purposefully not listen to it until I can grab my nicest headphones and hear it from a high quality source. So much to experience I don't wanna miss a single detail
the essence of tycho to me is a fleeting moment on a train, where the sun beams across trees through almost-closed eyes, casting strange kaleidoscope of colours and patterns. The visuals on this video are so perfect.
I first found out about Tycho back in the Past is Prologue days, circa 2010. I was driving up from Columbus, OH to Detroit, MI to see Telefon Tel Aviv at the Ghostly International 10th Anniversary show at a venue called The Magic Stick. We were just outta high school and had 0 street smarts or ability, and ended up getting off at the wrong stop from the hotel to the venue and had to walk about 10 blocks through downtown Detroit. For kids like us, that was a bit of a shock. When we finally made it to the venue, we were stressed and exhausted and unfortunately about 3 hours early (did I mention..0 street smarts?). That night, I wondered who would be opening for Telefon Tel Aviv. Neither of us had looked, as we didn't care and were just there for Telefon Tel Aviv (still my fav group to this day). Then, as we were cowering in the back awkwardly, beers in-hand, waiting for whoever was coming on to get going and get it over with so we could see some live TTA, I started to hear the song Past is Prologue blast throughout the venue. My friend I just looked at each-other wide-eyed cause we'd never heard anything like it and were in love 30 seconds in. We quickly scurried as close up as we could get to see who was on stage, and lo and behold, I was bestowed with my first introduction to Tycho! And it was fucking EPIC!!!! I am still listening to this day. Some of the newer albums don't resonate with me, but that's OK as long as Tycho is making what he wants (and I know that he is). Tycho is def in my top 3 musicians, and has been since that fateful night in Detroit. And I scour the internet for music I like, rarely finding anything, sometimes a song here and there...but a musician as a whole? That happens once every couple years for me cause I am so picky, so it's been such a gift to have Tycho just shoved my face live as a surprise and I will never forget it for the rest of my life :) Thank you so much for the memories and music Tycho ❤ much love to everyone here❤Is it Aug 30 yet
Wow. This is just incredible. Magic~ I remember the first time I heard the song Awake and had a similar feeling. I was walking through the woods in the snow off trail playing it over and over as i struggled with the fact that my life was probably about to change forever, for the worse. I wandered for miles until i got to a spruce grove, sat in the middle, stared up...and just fucking lost it. Hours passed and i was able to find some sort of peace, enough to decide to keep going and deal with whatever may come. I put awake back on for the walk home. The feelings changed, but the magic remained. My life was never the same after that day, and when i think back to those memories, awake plays. That album meant so much to during that time. It brought to the edge and back so many times...but always back. That's what a lot of your music does to me. I get completely consumed with thoughts and emotions like im under a spell but then there is always a catharsis one way or another. I find myself today at a crossroads yet again, and then I hear this song for the first time. I played it, and fucking lost it. But, there was a sense of hope and something positive about what is to come. I can't tell you what that meant to me and I'm sure that when I look back to this day I'll always remember this song. Thank you~
Tcho every time you dropped an album since Awake (I became true fan after Dive), there is something happening in my life. Sometimes it is bad, sometimes it is good, but every times there is something. Will see what's next at the end of august. Thank you for your music.
I know I could have probably accessed this new album for free eventually but wanted to purchase it as a show of appreciation for the soundtrack for my life The past 4 years And the healing and insights that have occurred as a result. Big thanks for helping me heal and illuminate. ❤
I started listening to your music back in 2006 at your very beginning and since then your music has been the place where I can relax and travel far away. My favorite album will always be the EP The Science of Patterns which for me, contains the real essence of what Tycho means, now this new album seems to bring something like that , can't wait for it. Thanks!!
What insanely genius production. Would love to see a walkthrough the tracks and see how this was accomplished. Probably the best Tycho I’ve heard since the album with A Walk.
Instantly classic Tycho! I’ve logged hundreds of miles and hours running & biking to Tycho heavy playlists!

Likewise.
Roosevelt is excellent nu-disco, as well as so any others. EDM/Disco is alive and well.
I'm hoping you're a woman?
I think you'd enjoy the new Dua Lipa album "Radical Optimism". Especially "Illusion", that has a groovy synth solo.
@@nolansyers Dua Lipa is one of the few modern pop singers I like. "Future Nostalgia" was a great album.

Thanks, I didn't know that feeling had a name! And yeah, Tycho's music certainly triggers it for me too!
What he said! Count me in on that!!
Thank you! super insightful, the music is all about that for me too
This is such a perfect word for Tycho. Thank you fellow Tycho lover.
And Zac Brown!

Almost 16 years of listening to Tycho and I'm never disappointed!
This is too cool! What an unmatched vibe. Intricately complex
Road trip music
Thank you sooo much for ending the “vocal” experiment. It had its time. Back to business.
I am glad you said it. This is what we listen to Tycho for. This is an evolution, but true to the DNA.
Another Masterpiece, thanks Tycho, best greets from Germany 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
How strictly yet so smoothly everything blends into a mesmerizing symphony ✨
Been a fan for 12 years. Love seeing how much you've evolved over the years. You deserve all the success.

Tycho is a core memory for me. Listening in 2018 was a vibe, and as it turns out, still is!
Listening in early 2010's was good too
there is a lot of music out there "like" this. but no one quite does it like this fellow. always in rotation for me.
also, we should jam some time
November 15th in Chicago... I'll be there!
I loose myself and go on a journey to find myself in every track you produce. Truly an amazing gift from your music.
Absolutely stunning visuals. I love it. So vivid and textured with great movement. It's like a massage for your eyes. The song is excellent as well.
